Something I'm working on for an SD Gundam kit project (SDs being 5-6 feet tall in story). It's basically a nature theme display base made from a wooden base I held on to from uni, grass flock, sand flock and stones sculpted from Super Sculpey and then hand brushed and dry brushed.
The key with it is to make it as realistic as possible. I've done a few similar scenes in the past (see my signature) but for this one I really want to push my ability further. Critique very welcome and requested eagerly

I got some feedback that the rocks were more likely to be grey. Which do people prefer? Because in terms of research, I've found brown ones common too.

I'd say gray, mostly because I prefer the color. Where I come from, the granite is all gray.

Gray is a better color. I was mistaking them for bales of hay at first. The rocks themselves are rather uniform in shape, though. Some could be more irregular and jagged.

Thanks for all the feedback so far :) I'm considering just keeping this as a good base for taking photos of recent completed models in a scene, though I'm leaning very much to just doing a complete piece using the second character in this link (painted in a different colour scheme): http://ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2009/04/new-images-for-bb-senshi-sangokuden.html
