I was searching around the web, and found Mike Milo's website (http://www.milowerx.com/animation/storyboards-2?album=SpaceBearsBoardFinal#spwa). (He did work on Chowder, several Ruegger KidsWB shows, and the "When Nature Calls" Cartoonstitute short). He has a few storyboards for "Twisted Whiskers". According to him, it's a CGI series based on the American Greetings card line that's slated to air on CN in 2010. Here are a few storyboards:

Egg On Your Face (http://picasaweb.google.com/milowerx/EggOnYourFace?authkey=0Srhw-g6BwY#)

Mewser's Christmas (http://picasaweb.google.com/milowerx/MewserSChristmas?authkey=C7dqcB8Xdxg#)

Mewser Faces Reality (http://picasaweb.google.com/milowerxstoryboards/MewserFacesRealty#)

The other two don't work, unfortunately.

The storyboards remind me of Felix the Cat.

I was pretty happy with the storyboards...at least until I found out it is going to be CGI. I'm kinda scared since CGI has yet to reach the amount of motion and expression traditional animation can.

Also, it seems like this show is being done by Taffy Productions, the same studio that did Pet Alien. Hooray?Which has been renamed Mike Young Productions, and...well, they make some good PBS shows and that He-Man remake. All the boards work for me.

Mike Young Productions became a part of the Moonscoop family, which includes Taffy Distribution. Fun fact. Mike Young is a Welsh animator who created SuperTed and Fantastic Max.

Both excellent shows I might add.

But is it a original series for the network or an acquisition?

Oh...okay, I understand now. Well, the storyboards for the series seem okay. But is it a original series for the network or an acquisition?I assume that it's the same case as The Mr. Men Show, in that it's a show done by an independent studio for CN.

IT BURNS! (http://taffyentertainment.com/distribution/show.php?id=52) I’m sorry, but it’s going to take me quite some time to get used to how these characters look. They looked adorable on those storyboards, but the transition to 3D has not been kind to them.

Wow. Based on the designs in the storyboards and the final CGI, they should've made the show 2D.

They've also done the animation for Growing Up Creepie, which is the best show on Discovery Kids, and in my personal top 10 as well.

Ouch. Yeah, I agree with everybody who says this should've been in 2D

I... I think I have to lie down.

Also, if anyone was wondering, this is what the average Twisted Whiskers card looks like.

:crying::crying::crying: Why must storyboards SO entertaining, become CGI so horridly realistic. THAT's why I want it to be done in 2D.

Holy..

Those storyboards look really awesome, reminded me how in cow+chicken there was no mentioning of the people's faces..and the animal designs looked really interesting.

But dear god..in 3D they look like some sort of bad pet commercial..

The eyes are what kills it in CGI. You've got realistic bodies, and grossly unrealistic eyes.

Eww.. While the storyboards looked really interesting for this show (whoever said it reminded them of Cow and Chicken, I agree) and then the CGI ruined it all. I hate how so many studios nowadays have had their idea of the industry tainted into believing that CGI is what everyone wants right now. That's the most absurd thing ever and it hurts a lot of small studios. I mean, if you're a big time studio with a load of dough, you can do CGI (and even then a lot of big studios can't perfect CGI the way Pixar and sometimes Dreamworks can). But making a show CGI doesn't make it more appealing if you do the CGI horribly. There are so few TV shows that have ever done CGI well (only Jimmy Neutron comes to mind right away). I don't see why so many companies think that 2D traditional animation is a thing of the past. What CGI cartoon in the past 15 years or so has even been successful except Jimmy Neutron? I can't name any. Oh, and a cartoon based off of a greetings card line? That's a first.

They're just sticking to the (incredibly ugly) visual style of the cards. It's a shame too, because this could have been a good standalone cartoon.

Yeah. I don't understand why so many studios want to make cartoons out of comics or movies or toy/game lines or greeting cards. Original cartoons that are meant to be funny and not meant to be long commercials are always better in quality and in popularity. I'm not saying they're all bad, most of the comic book adaptions are pretty good, but I just wish some studios would come up with original ideas as opposed to adapting the ideas of others.

Those CGI designs will scare little kids. If it was 2D or less realistic 3D it wouldn't be so bad.

It's done by Taffy, eh? They also did Code Lyoko (after season 1)

Technically they always did Code Lyoko. Moonscoop merged with Taffy to form a bigger company.

For those who want to get a taste of what this series will be like, you can go to the website (http://www.twistedwhiskers.com/) and watch some shorts. I believe that they were created shortly before production began on the actual series, but it should be an adequate indicator of what this series will be like. I only watched a few of them and I can’t say that I was too impressed, but “Ruff Road Ahead” actually made me chuckle.

Well, the animation and CGI isn't doing this show any good. But it still has the possibility of being decent. I might check it out. Might.
