Thanks, man.

Where to begin? My only exposure to Saint Seiya is some of the episodes I've watched of the Hades Chapter Arc. Too bad I missed out on the Cartoon Network airings. I didn't give it the time of day because I assumed it was just like Ronin Warriors. Did they ever finish the series?

Watching the Hades Chapter made me realize what I've been missing. Unfortunately, I never completed the Hades Chapter either. Guess I'll have to wait for the DVDS. Hopefully, Sci-Fi will scoop this series (along with the OAVS) up. Oops, I forgot about the movies.

I take it this a prequel, right? I was more interested in the sequel, The Heaven Chapter. Isn't Saint Seiya and the rest of the Saints supposed to wage war against the Greek Pantheon and, ultimately, Chronos? I can't wait to hear more about it. Would it be best for me to pass on seeing the prequel until after I've seen the rest of the series?

You can read the manga, on the whole I find the manga better than the anime, though both have their upside and their failings.

The Lost Canvas is a prequel that details the last Holy War between the forces of Athena and Hades back 250 years ago and the tale of the previous Pegasus saint. I just got volume 4 of the manga today too...

I love the character design in those books! As much as I like Kurumada's work I think he's only so-so as an artist, Shiori Teshirogi on the other hand does an awesome job... it looks a lot like Kurumada's designs, only better :p

If you think its jarring you should be glad they didn't decide to animate Episode G :p Megumu Okada has a MUCH more different style oO

I don't know what is the status of any sequel but there is two prequel running right now. Lost Canvas and Episode G.

Episode G is set only a handful of years before Saint Seiya proper and stars Gold Leo Saint Aiolia and focuses on the Gold Saint and their battle against the Titans and Chronos. Its set somewhere after Aioros' death when he saved baby Athena. The first chapter is set during the Three Mile Island incident of 1979 in fact.

Personally I think Episode G is FAR more epic feeling compared to Lost Canvas, but arguably I'm up to volume 14 in that so Lost Canvas still got lots of room for growth.

The animation looks like Xebec, but to my surprise it's TMS. That came out of nowhere.

Seiya's armor looks a bit bland, just metalic blue, let's see how the other Bronzies will look.:)

That's not Seiya. Seiya isn't in Lost Canvas.

Oh, cīmon we all know its Seiya anyway ;)

I am loving it, the animation looks good, at least wayyyy better than the one we saw on Hades...

BTW its amazing how the trailer just came out and some licensors from Spain and France are already making plans to license it
Makes you guess why this anime was such a failure in the U.S, though it could probably still be saved, I mean... Imagine if CN or something aired Hades first 13 episodes (the ones that look good) or maybe this 13 episodes show... Maybe it would get a good reception, but not naming it "knights of the zodiac" just "Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas" or "Lost Canvas" (So that the american viewers dont know its based on "That show that aired 5 years ago with the green blood")
