View Full Version : SPLICING -----what would you have done?

It would be sick if splicing were real. I wonder what I would get done.......hmmm...Dana's cheetah spots looked pretty shway. M Jacks and the Catlady are the closest things we have to splicers today. If splicing were possible, which animal's DNA would you choose?
http://members.spree.com/sci-fi/neohighlander/ahhh.jpg This guy better watch himself. M Jacks looks hungry!

I'll go first. I would like to glow in the dark like the monkey named A.N.D.I. I guess that means I would have genes from a jelly fish. I would also get cheetah spots, but they would not glow in the dark

man, that is scary stuff! i don't know if M Jackson really spliced or not, maybe he just got a healthy dose of clorox to his skin and a new nose...
seriously, though, if i could be spliced, i'd probably go with cat DNA, sort of Dark Angel like. it'd be cool to have cat-like abilities...

I'd want to be a Gargoyle from that old cartoon Gargoyles. That would be cool to still be able to talk, fly, and have strength.

Hmmm....I always liked the idea of being human by day and Gargoyle by night like Demona in "Gargoyles"
Also, I like how the twin cat girls in Escaflowne the movie look ...so half cat , half human is my second choice :D

AAAHH!!!! Freak!!!!
Sick! Take that thing away from me! It's gonna give someone nightmares! I don't know what that guy sliced with, but it's not human, that's for sure. Throw it in Arkham with the rest of the mutants.
Well, even if splicing were possible, it wouldn't be my thing. I don't have any piercing or tattoos and I have no plans on getting any. I guess I'd even be too afraid to try it. I'm afraid the animal DNA will mess with my brain.
Just look at what happened to Rob Shneider in "The Animal."

This socialite underwent massive plastic surgery inorder to look like a cat http://members.spree.com/sci-fi/neohighlander/yellowshirt.jpg http://members.spree.com/sci-fi/neohighlander/lion2.gif
In case your thinking, "she doen't look that strange,"----She used to look like this!
http://members.spree.com/sci-fi/neohighlander/before.jpg
She is Nas-T!!!!!! Her name is Jocelyne Wildenstein. Jocelyne was married to a billioniare who owned his own private zoo. Her husband really liked big cats like lions and tigers, so she had her plastic surgeon rearange her face. Some of the work included having fat injected around the mouth area, turning the eyes upward, a forhead lift, and chin implants. She also had her skin darkened. She's like a reverse M Jacks. She's bizzaroM Jacks!
BTW- Her husband did not approve of her new look. He divorced her.

Un-Hunh. While I don't think this is true (this smacks of NATIONAL ENQUIRIER or WEEKLY WORLD NEWS) it is pretty freaky either way. And why is everyone picking on Jackson? He has a skin disease and likes to play around wit his face - sheesh.
As for splicing..well, I like myself the way I am so I doubt I'd go into it.

While I doubt that I would actually splice myself with anything, to many side effects for my personal taste. I wouldn't mind improving my eye sight to that several hawk species enjoy.

No!!!!!!!!!!!! It really is true. This woman actually had all this plastic surgery done. Ask Calhoun. She's been on tv and everything. Look it up for yourself in a search engine.

This is like Namtar from Farscape. He spiced himself with genes from hundreds of different alien lifeforms so that he could have all the best attributes of each species. He started out as a labrat.
http://members.spree.com/sci-fi/NEOHIGHLANDER/namtarhead.jpg
Did you notice that "Namtar" backwards is "Ratman," Clayface?
http://members.spree.com/sci-fi/neohighlander/namtarhole.jpg This is NAMTAR w/ a hole blasted through him. But it's okay b/c Namtar has aquired the regenative abilities of another species. His stomach grows back instantly.

that cat lady is pretty freaky. i think the surgery must have gone terribly if she ended up looking like that, but it also explains why her husband dumped her like a sack of extremely ugly potatoes. but hey, i guess i shouldn't be that judgemental. people could get angry and start saying the same about me...

...with my luck the splicing technology would be linked with heart disease, renal failure, brain tumors, and/or impotence in a few years. I also have poor vision, so I might like to consider getting cat or hawk DNA for my eyes...and maybe gorilla DNA for my head (I'm looking thin on top--although that could have drawbacks; the rest of me is hairy enough as it is, gracias).

anybody want to find some Inque DNA or Clayface DNA?
a better possibility would be spider dna. just splice in the wall crawling, spider sense, and agility and strenght without the looks of a spider, and i'll be fine. spider-man kicks butt!

Yup, it's for real. She is one twisted woman. I guess her husband just like big cats, and didn't have a fetish for them, thus the reason for the divorce. I would hate to have to wake up every morning to that.
Shes been on several TV shows and has talked quite a bit about her plastic surgery.

Hmmm, let me see. I know! I'd just love to be spliced with an Elephant!:D Just kiddin. I think I would like to be spliced half tiger and half wolf. Truthfully though, i'd never want to spliced, but if I had to, those would be my choices. Hey, what do you think Terry would look good spliced with?(besides a bat) I'm thinking a cat.
See ya!

How about the platypus and funnel nosed fruit bat?

Okay, Peace Keeper, if it makes you feel any better I'll answer the question. But remember it wasn't me who posted a pic of M Jacks. I was just reacting to it.
With no side effects, I'd get my eyes fixed too and maybe just something to make me a better athlete, because I'm really bad at sports. MAybe a healing factor would be nice.
.... but I still think real life splicing will turn people into Rob Shneider in The Animal. :-)
Ah yes! I always wanted to be half human and half animal.
of course, the ultimate animal for me would be:
A fish!

Well.....I'd have to say I'd be spliced with a lion, just so people would kinda fear me.
But I went on and thus tried to create a spliced animal of my own......a total disaster.
See for yourself:
http://www.saladhead.com/zoo/elebird2.jpg I named this one Elo-bird (not really a point for that one)
http://www.saladhead.com/zoo/sealion1.jpg I never got why they called them Sea Lions....so I made my own.
http://www.saladhead.com/zoo/goraffe.jpg Goraffe
http://www.saladhead.com/zoo/Ringnose_Elemure.jpg Now THIS was a mistake! A Ring Nosed Elemure is one ticked off animal, let me tell you! The fur on his nose tickles his face and he's got nothing to sneeze with! Sure, he can still pick up a peanut with that *thing*, but hairballs are horrible.
http://www.saladhead.com/zoo/Rabuck.jpg My final creature, a Rabuck.
don't worry...all animals were returned to normal after -exstensive- and expensive surgery, they were not harmed.

Dick Greyson, you know that's a lie.
Everyone would have something done to them, I personelly, would be spliced with the ultimate animal, the griffon.
33% Hawk
33% Lion
33% Human
You would the best that the splicing has to offer. You would have the speed, strength and teeth of a Lion, you would also have the wings and incredable sight of a Hawk. Anyone who says that they wouldn't want to run faster, be stronger, and have the ability to fly is a liar.

Actually it's not, some people actually like themselves and their body. Splicing probably wouldn't be for everyone, and I doubt everyone would jump on it. Welcome to the boards, Xaiver.

Once again, someone in denial. Splicing would be like heart transplant. At first, everyone would be afraid of it, then later, it would be a normal thing to have done.

Blight: Hey, what do you think Terry would look good spliced with?(besides a bat) I'm thinking a cat. I think that Terry should be spliced with a fish, so that he can breath underwater. In episode "Lost Soul," Terry is overpowered by his suit and almost drownes. If Terry had gills, this wouldn't have been a problem. They can be hidden behind his ears like Keven Cosner in Water World.
This is a hypothetical situation, guyz. Don't take it so seriously

Hard to say. It depend son the personnel preference of any given person. Then again, splicing is generally plastic surgery (only twisted) so it likely would become common. I just doubt everyone would be doing it. Alot of people, yes, but not everyone. And Mxy isn't in denial, he's just stating his own valid opinion, like everyone else. Don't judge the dude! Then again, we're all saying this now, when the technology doesn't exist. If this ever comes to pass, who knows what people will think about it.
I can already see the protestors lining up...
As good ol' PK said, this is hypothetical, so just be calm about it. I don't want this interesting thread to result in a flame war.

except the fact you only get a heart transplant if you are gonna die without a new. splicing is like plastic surgery and steriods combine and it is definetly not assential. plus a heart transplant does not make you look like an idiot its like he had a bad heart so he got a new one. not like i am bored so i think i will get myself injected with animal genes

Hey, Mxyzptlk
It's a hypothetical situation, I needs only a simple answer, it needs not to be debated over for various posts.
Also, if you can think of a better example of a medical procedure that was once amazing, and is now accepted, go ahead.

The subject isn't being debated. People are throwing in their opinions about it. Everyone has their own opinions and shouldn't have them beat down or thought lesser of.
Anyways, I think this would be a cool prodedure if it ever comes to pass. I wonder if it would create a clique of people in any given city that it's being done, like in BB how they have the Spliced-only clubs (BB #3).

PEACE KEEPER queries:
what animal has healing factors?
The Tasmanian devil, a small Austrailian marsupial made famous by director Robert McKimson. They've also been known to eat practically anything. Maybe I'll add that to my gorilla DNA order. I don't want to look too freaky, mind you, but I would like to be very hairy and strong. Car trouble, ma'am? Just let me pick up your vehicle and carry it on my back to Goober's garage for you.
Mind you, this would probably go over better in a big city than in the country where I live, where we're pretty much ordinary whitebread folks and nothing out of the ordinary happens. A gorilla man would probably stand out too much in a country town so small it doesn't even have sidewalks. In New York City or L.A. he'd probably be a lawyer. or an insurance salesman.

Well Dr. Belch, I can't find anywhere that Tasmanian Devils can heal...Where did you find this whoop-la? I've looked at a countless number of sites and encyclopedia's and I still can't find any information on T.D's healing. OH yes, and the food thing. Well the biggest thing they eat are wallabies. I read that A WHOLE FAMILY ate a horse, but thats a whole family. You've been reading too much Sci-Fi Dr. Belch. I think your license as a doctor should be removed. Have a nice day.
(by the way, the closest thing to healing is basicaly regeneration found in small lizards and starfish)
