I've looked high and low for this thread and haven't found it, so here it is:

What Marvel stories, new, old and original, would you like to see in Marvel's DTV line?

Secret Wars. All the way.

I really want to see something with the X-Men in geneal. And no, not Wolverine. Wolverine alone isn't "X-Men".

I just want to see something from Marvel I haven't seen them do in animation before. During the 80's, Marvel had a series of books called Marvel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Graphic_Novel)Graphic Novels (http://www.comicsbulletin.com/bobro/105277886827775.htm) where they were able to do things a little differently than with the monthly books (ie, God Loves, Man Kills, Parallel Lives, Death of Captain Marvel, Aladdin Effect, etc). For the most part, I feel that is what they've been doing these past few years with the features and I've been pretty happy with the releases but I hope they branch out a little more when it comes to what characters they'll use. I'd love to see Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Spider-Woman, Captain Marvel, etc.

I wouldn't mind seeing maybe one or two features that were really old school in feel, sort of like how I think the 94-95 FF season was, that made you feel that they were practically ripped right out of the comics. I'd love to see something about the All new, All Different X-Men team or a big superhero jamboree like Secret Wars.

Amen to that! People seem to forget that "X-Men" existed a decade before Wolverine.

I know it was controversial and disliked, but I would love to see Civil War animated. Yes, yes. It was a marketing stunt. Yes, it was a retread of Watchmen and Cadmus and New Frontier and a hundred other superhero vs. government story arcs; I DON'T CARE. It got me into Marvel, and inspired me to read the Essentials volumes and gave me a love for the characters.

I'd also like to see the Invaders, or any assortment of Golden Age Marvel characters in a WWII setting. Maybe even with a pre-FF Ben Grimm as a fighter pilot. I love historical fiction, and I don't understand why modern comics/animation feels the need to modernize everything.

It's all told from the perspective of photojournalist Phil Sheldon though. I'd love to see Marvels done in some way, someday. That was a huge book for me when I was a kid.

Another vote for Marvels - I loved that book. Looking at the lisencing situation too, it could be done, although Spider-Man and The Green Goblin would have to be subsituted. Any ideas as to what would make a good ending for the film as a replacement?

I'd probably go for a Nick Fury, Director of SHIELD direct-to-video with Mara Hill and Black Widow thrown along for the ride.

Possibly something even more obscure would be a Heroes For Hire DTV with Silver Sable, Luke Cage (with Jessica Jones at his side), Iron Fist, Paladin, and Tigra.

I'd love to see a Luke Cage/Iron Fist double feature, then a sequel where they team up.

If we can't get Spider-Man or any of the other significant characters in Marvels, then it shouldn't be done. All or nothing. No substitutes.

I know it was controversial and disliked, but I would love to see Civil War animated.
I'd be interested to see that too. An adaptation could tone down the parts that went off the rails (the parts that made Iron Man and co. cartoonishly evil) while keeping the core, which is quite interesting.

My top choice: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (perhaps with The Death of Captain America as a sequel possibility).

The actual "Civil War" graphic novel was somewhat balanced. It was the other titles' tie-ins (like the JMS "War at Home" Spidey arc) that made Iron Man evil. If they followed just the book, Iron Man had a very good reason for what he did.

I'd agree that direct comic adaptation - like DC's New Frontier - is at the top of my list. Something that boils down a comic book arc or novel or whatever to its core and animated it.

Personally, I think it would be cool to see Marvel 1602 animated... but I love Colonial Era anything, so I'm a tad biased in that regard. :p

Why Walt Simonson's legendary run on Thor -mostly the Surtur saga- hasn't been adapted into an animated format is beyond me.

I just want Beta Ray Bill done RIGHT in Marvel animation for a change.

I'd love to see Spider-Girl, if for no other reason than getting Mayday's name out there other than just comics. She's been a fiarly neglected character in the Spider merchandise market.

Some other singular storylines would be cool to see. Captain America: The Winter Soldier would be cool to see after the live-action Cap film comes out. Then people would know who Bucky, the Red Skull, and hopefully some of Caps supporting cast, are.

X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga

Just because they have yet to do it right and with quality.

You won't see any of Cap's modern supporting characters in the film (at least the first one); it's all WWII (one of the reasons I think it's better to do a modern/past hybrid). Also, I'd be a bit surprised to see Bucky in a recognizable incarnation.

There are other moments that signify the end of the Silver Age but I don't think there are any moments straight from the comics that would work in the story quite the way Gwen's death did.

I just bought "Marvels" and I'm gonna read it tonight. My God, Alex Ross's work is brilliant.

But IDK if this could be an animated movie. It's so photo-realistic, it feels like a live-action movie.

I would love to see alot of things. Besides, Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor, because all the movies (with the exception of Dr Strange) have centered around those three, they have been done to death at this point. I would like to see a Punisher movie for one, a movie from the Silver Surfers Point of view with Galactus and the F4 and maybe even Doom guest Staring. Definitly a Spiderman or X-men movie, or a series of movies with the same continuity like Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2, but with Spiderman and The X-men, and more than 2. I seen on a commentary somewhere that they would like to do another VS. movie like Avengers vs X-men, that would be cool. They just need to do something different than Thor, Hulk and Iron Man.

I would really like to see an adaption of the Marvel Zombies series. It could be a pretty awesome look at a darker Marvel Universe, if done right...
