I'm guessing the plane DID crash, but only the O6 got caught in the time flash.
Congrats, island, you've recieved a new shipment of redshirts!
EDIT: Any doubt I had that Ben was the big bad of this show is gone now. EVIL!
For such a mysterious guy, I thought Abaddon would last longer.
Hurley questioning how Locke died was pretty funny.

If this show really was a game between Charles Widmore and Benjamin Linus, then who would be the more important piece: John Lock or Jack Shepard? Jack is the everyman hero who ties everyone together and is the essitantal leader of the group. But there is just something special about John: something that allows him to while being use wind up doing something to help save everyone time and time again in his own way. I do know one thing though: Locke episodes for the most part are always better then Jack episodes, and this one was certainly better then last week. Okay yeah we do know the story that John as Jeremy Bertham had gotten around to try and convince everyone to come back and we know he obviously failed at convincing them. And we know that he died and it's been speculated he'd return in some form. Still who would of seen all these other things coming?
Like how he was found by Charles Widmore who has been tracking all the Oceanic 6 survivors (though Sun seems to be the one everyone looses track of as she found him and John didn't go see her for various reasons).
- Or about how Locke didn't invite Walt to go the island since he's been through enough (signifying the special bond they had. Though i do hope Walt shows up at one point again since we still need to find out what makes him so special).
- Or that John was driven by that mysterious Matthew guy who apparently brings people where they need to go. But since they solved the mystery of his character he could be killed off as well by Ben.
- Oh yeah speaking of Ben he found out info on the island from Locke and then offed him. Yeah really Ben you should know trying to kill John dosen't work: the island can revive his legs upteen times and it can revive him from death as well. Seriously I hope John rubs this in his face at some point since I doubt he's going to kill Ben considering how many times he ended up getting saved last season.
- Oh and that the new group of survivors formed they're own camp and have taken various injured people including Ben. I do dislike how that means there's more cannon fodder as only two of the new group seem important but I guess Lost needs it's red shirts around to off occasionally and these guys will provide nice meat shields for the bullets/arrows/whatever of the various obstacles around the island instead of our heroes.
So yeah a lot of interesting info here. I also thought the emotion unlike say a Jack ep was well place. With John's reaction to finding out that Helen died and then John's feelings of inadequacy and trying to off himself after failing to convince everyone. Yeah guess he did need to die in order to reach people but that everyone's back comes the process of the groups coming together to... I guess be in this looming war Widmore mentioned. Whatever that means. So yeah solid ep for John and I'm glad it did actually give us more of the present plotline then I thought it would and we're ready to move on to the merging of all the groups.

Well, it was quite interesting to see even more of Ben's loving personality!:D I do, at least, believe him when he says that he will miss Locke. I'm assuming that he probably doesn't even know that many secrets of the island, since it seems that he wasn't expecting Locke to "come back to life." As for my theory, I would say that maybe Ben did get affected by the flash, possibly causing a nose bleed, that knocked him out, explaining why he got injured. If he was knocked out, he wouldn't be able to assume a good, safe position to protect himself from impact with the island. Of course, I am partially basing this off of NelStone's guess. I wasn't paying too much attention when Ceaser (Sp?) mentioned the list of the passengers, but did he say that the pilot took them with him? Another thing I wondered was the convenience of Locke's ex-girlfriend being dead, and Ben also knowing they would be there. Her date of death was April 8, 2006 in case anyone knows if it is of significance. I give this episode a 4.5, mostly for an interesting view of Locke's last days as Jeremy Bentham, and for the insight on what the Oceanic 6 did first after returning to civilization. At least we got to learn what Sayid did since we knew most about what the other O6 did. It was also nice to see more of Walt.

With how the island brought Locke back from death, I guess Jack's father really is alive and not a ghost/halucination/smoke-monster/Jacob.
And just when the show was getting me to believe Ben was a good guy, he gos back to being very evil.

I don't get why Ben killed Locke instead of letting Locke kill himself. Doesn't quite add up, because it seems that Ben knew Locke was coming back to life. I think.
I had hopes Ben was a good guy, but NOPE.

It seemed to have to do with when Locke mentioned that woman's name. The one in the church. I forget her name. Up until then it seemed like Ben wanted to help. I'm sure it will be explained in a future ep. That or Ben is still jealous that the island chose Locke to be the special leader.

I always get a kick out of that, since it's my home town. :D
Hurley's hospital is just a 5 minute drive from my house.

All these theories I've been reading on the net about Ben possibly manipulating the 316ers into following him and turning them against Locke and then the rest would make sense, given Walt's dream.

He wanted information from Locke. Once he got it...he didn't need him, and thus killed him. I doubt he knows the Island is going to 'jesus' Locke back to life...

I can't believe that people actually thought Ben was a good guy. He's probably killed more people than any other person on this show. He's responsible for the deaths of the Dharma initiative, several people on the Oceanic Flight, everyone on the freighter, etc.
Anyway, what station where they at in this episode?

The podcast said the Hydra station. Note that the symbol of the Hydra station was on the document Cesar (sp?) was looking at and the new survivors seemed to be observing the main island from another's shore, presumably the smaller island the Hydra is on.
