I haven't seen any threads about this game and that’s a shame. 2009 is shaping up to be a pretty good year and test market for hardcore games on the Wii. If these games succeed this year, Wii will start getting (many) more of the hardcore games loyalists crave, as the economy continues to shrink developers know Wii will be the cheapest system to develop for and if we give them a reason to develop deeper content, they will. Anyway thats a whole other thread...

This thread is about MadWorld, the graphic novel inspired, creative, blood fest published by Sega and coming exclusively to the Nintendo Wii. Every gaming site has been raving about this game and it’s spectacular non-use of the Wii-Mote, stylish design and over the top violence. Yes you read that right, a game on Wii that actually opts not to over use waggle controls or make use of the infrared sensor, Instead choosing a back to basics but still interactive style of play. Oh and did I mention Multi-Player ?

Here’s a summary of the game description from IGN:
Madworld is an inventive third-person action game exclusively for Wii. Produced by Atsushi Inaba, MadWorld has a unique black and white style depicting an incredibly sharp backdrop that straddles graphic novels and 3D worlds. As players battle opponents, they must master the use of various weapons and items found within their environment, such as chainsaws and street signs, while entertaining sports commentary adds to the third-person gameplay. With its irreverent humor and over-the-top violence, MadWorld will deliver a unique core gaming experience currently missing on the Wii system.

With all that said.. Who's planning on picking this up, who's excited that the game is only a month away ? Who could care less? :p

You forgot to add that Jack, the main character, is voiced by Steve Blum. There for he will be bad ass :D .

Also Sega has already started promoting the game with House of the Dead Overkill. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3a-DN73Sc0)

I thinking about buying a Wii in March so I will pick up this game along with Sonic and the Black Knight.

Yes, as a special piece of ear candy for fans of Toonami, Anime and all things
BAMF..the game also features Steve Blum, a sheer sign that this is no kiddy fare. Ha.

If you don't know who Steve is he's the voice of Tom of Toonami fame, Cowboy Bebop's Spike Spegiel, the current incarnation of Wolveriene, Roger Smith and various other awesome roles I'm sure you've heard him in.

I've already made room for the game in my budget next month. I'm thinking this and House of the Dead Overkill will be coming home with em next month.

MadWorld looks pretty cool. I've been enticed by the visual style and levels of intensity that it shows.

If I had a Wii, it'd be a pre-order. If there was a video game god (and I know there is!), I would hope for a PS2 version or port in the future.

Kind of sucks not having enough money to buy a new console.:(

Unfortunately, the "over the top violence" part is a turn off. Okami will probably be my next Wii game once I get around to it.

This game maybe worth it (and it has Steve Blum, noice). But, my budget has hit an all time low and other Wii games call for my money. Maybe I'll get it in a year or so.

Steve's not the only well known guy lending his voice to this game. What about the commentators done by Gregg Proops and John DiMaggio? Those three actors all in the same game? That's more badass than the over-the-top violence factor. Thank god I still have those Gamestop gift cards I got for Christmas.
