I would like to know has anyone else seen the early 90's cartoon the new adventures of he-man. I would also like to know what you guys thought of it. I thought it was good, but not great. The animation had an anime feel to it, which was cool.

Well, I had the knee jerk reaction of hating it, because it was a complete spit in the face of the original.

Plus it used crappy hip cliche badguys.... "mutants" and tried to make it cool, cuz the Turtles were mutants.

He-Man doesn't fight mutants in the future.... he fights monsters in another realm.

It might've been good, but I just never really gave it a chance.

For me, the only redeeming feature was Skeletor who retained some amusement factor - and that it tried to follow from the original - a brave attempt to link it to the previous series.

On the other hand, it was rubbish and best forgotten - especially in the light of it's former series...

Definitely not as good as the original He-Man. It was just a strange transition that turned it into something totally different, so it disappointed me. The anime style really didn't work for it either, added with the story, and the greek-ish design... it made it feel like Earth in the past instead of a completely different world. If they wanted an anime style to it, it could have been better and it should retain some essence of the old design too. Some parts seemed too sci-fi too compared to fantasy. I liked the design of the old characters so much better, it was very unique, especially the backdrop. It definitely made Eternia look like a completely different world from ours filled with magic and technology. Castle Grayskull was more menacing looking, and darker too. The Sorceress... my gosh, they ruined her falcon headdress and cape into... something else. And there's NO Battle Cat! How can they not have Battle Cat? I love Battle Cat, as well as the rest of the old He-Man crowd.
