View Full Version : Animation Mistakes you've noticed

Here are some animation mistakes i've seen on varios shows:

The Angry Beavers

Enter the Dagget @ the star of the episode when Dag is jumping about pretending to be a ninja, Norb can be seen sitting on the log eating popcorn, and his nose is colored red. It should be purple.

Stinky Toe When Dag is trying to find a cure for Stinky Toe in the science lab, in one scene his ears are white, not black.

Kreature Komforts Norb tells Dag, "We've got to take this trough patience!" Dag replies, "Fine! Freak!" Norb says, "You weren't calling me a freak were you? Watch closely. Norb reacts 1 second before Dag said, "Freak."

Invader Zim

Nanozim At the end of the episode, Zim batted up and bruised has a black eye. A second later, the black eye is gone.

Here's one:

Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain

All episodes Pinky and the Brain are teamed with Elmyra. This is in violation of the natural balance of nature and at least four major religions.

Well, it's been suggested on the TTAFF ml that PE&tB is a prequel to TTA. The Elmyra's family eps of TTA might be, too. How else to explain Harvey Korman Jr. High? Me, I think that Elmyra was P&tB's agent, as well as agent to Plucky, Skullhead, & herself; which, combined with the theory that she's a Rhodes Scholar --- therefore by implication somewhere around genius level --- would explain why the later eps of TTA tended to feature Plucky & / or Elmyra (Undersea World of Fifi comes to mind), why Skullhead made the transition from TTA to A!, why Elmyra was added to P&tB, why the mice hung around after A!'s plug was pulled, why Plucky got his own show, the Elmyra's Family eps, etc. etc. etc.

And if you wanna talk animation mistakes, hoo hoo hoo, thereby hangs a cat-o-nine-tails. There've been whole sites on mistakes in RoRos alone.

This is the 15,000th post on this board btw.

I subscribe to Moe LaMarche's theory; the entire PE&tB series took place in an Alternate Universe.

With the possible exception of 'Man from Washington'- Brain *should* have a formidable new nemesis to replace Snowball.

Hmm...is Precious from 'Brainwashed' still alive?

Alive & well, & happily in the care of Bobby Bob @ last report.

And, while I'm happy for her, being a Contented Cat disqualifies her from being Brain's nemesis, or anybody else's.

Looks like she's definently out...what about Zalgar?

Could be. From what's been said earlier he's done with Dick Cavett (Cavett's narrating Rocky Horror on Broadway). If he doesn't get distracted by Brainatra or Mojo Jojo, sure. And he has returned, in Sharklady's fanfic by the same name.

I like the idea of Zalgar coming back so much, I wrote a Fanfic about it. But, being an outer-space resident, he couldn't really make trouble for Brain as regularly as an Earth-bound nemesis could.

What makes Wally Faust such a good candidate is that there'd always be a possibility of him being around, but most of the time you couldn't be sure where. Plus, he has *real* menace, resources, and determination.

What more could you ask for, from an arch enemy?

Hehe. Doesn't sound like he was too crazy about PE&tB either. When did he say this?

Oy, I need to start writing again. I have a whole storyline laid out that exists both during and after PE&tB--where Elmyra gets the stuffing beat out of her a couple of times. >=)

One of my all-time favorite cartoon series, Challenge of the GoBots, had more mistakes than any show I've seen before or since. Things not colored in, characters not moving their lips when the voices were going, the wrong character speaking to the wrong voice (that was the most annoying). You name it, it was probably in at least twice every episode.

And yet, it was still a great show. Good characters, mediocre stories, lousy animators.

I think Jem had quite a few of these same mistakes too, though not nearly as many as GoBots. And this wasn't a "mistake" per se, but when the Holograms and the Misfits were shown as children, they had the same color hair as their adult versions (green, purple, blue...).

I think it was some interview excerpt, which somebody thoughtfully reproduced on this Board ('fraid I don't recall who, but thanks again!)
I believe I made a reply to the effect that "Mr. LaMarche has excellent taste."
