In the late 80's and early 90's a company by the name of Tiger used to make these little handheld electronic video games, anyone remember them? I think they even went on to make a handheld B&W video game system called Game.com or something like that. Anyhow, did anyone have any of these little handheld games and if so which ones did you have? I had about 10 of these things at one time, oh the memories.....

I remember them.
They had the most annoying sound effects I've ever heard.

Yeah, they were nothing special in my book, but they helped me burn time throughout my childhood, especially before Gameboy came out. I noticed you were new KingHippo, welcome to the boards man.

I definitely had Michael Jordan vs. Larry Bird and Street Fighter II. They didn't take the place of a Gameboy that I never owned, but at least I could play them in the car.

I had Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Super Street Fighter II (the one that came with a deck of cards you could swipe for effects). Still own the first two Sonics, lost the Street Fighter one awhile ago.
I'm somewhat amused at how easily those games entertained us back then, especially since the Gameboy was also available. Maybe it was from seeing the ingenious ways the programmers crammed so much information onto 1 lcd screen.

Yeah I probably had about twenty of those total. Mainly because my parents wouldn't buy me a GB, and partly because I thought they were pretty fun.

foldible gun? As if you could use that mini-gun (pardon the pun) and aim at the screen? Neat
The one I had was about the Addams Family where you play as the fake uncle fester (it was based on the movie) and steal money from the Addams family while they're trying to stop you...you could defend yourself with light bulbs , It was fun while it lasted

I had a few of them from Aladdin to Rugrats. What ever became of Tiger electronics?

That game.com disaster, it's even listed on the top ten of the worst consoles ever
I had the Sonic 3 one. Never could figure out exactly what I was doing.

My brother and I had several over the years. I've forgotten what most of them were, but I do remember a Wolverine one I used to play a lot.

Ah, I remember these. Tiger handhelds and NES were my video game gateway. They were fun, even though I was never really good at them.

I had one for Jurassic Park.
You had to guide Tim and Lex down a road, occasionally jumping over rolling logs and climbing trees to avoid raptors.

If that's true, then it's ironic how its commercials would take shots at Game Boy.
"Get your hands out of your pocket."
"Game Boy don't touch the net."
"Duke Nukem don't play Game Boy."

I had or played a few of these. Gauntlet and Simon's Quest specifically. Gauntlet was kind of hard to figure out and I didn't have as much time with it, but I played Simon's Quest all the way through to the end. It was mostly replicating, over and over again, the part of the game where you jump across blocks and the Mermen jump out and spit things at you. And then I think Dracula was at the end.
My brother also had the Tiger Football game. I'm no fan of football, but I have to admit that played very well.
You know, The Game.Com isn't a terrible system. In theory. It had a touch screen and Internet connectivity years before the DS was released. Unfortunately, there just weren't that many, or any, from what I saw, good games for it. You really, really need software to sell a system and Lights Out was kind of fun but it just didn't cut it.

I think the only Tiger game I had was a giga pet. It was a cat, and I loved it But the damn thing broke. Nome of my 2358298522358238 tamagotchi ever broke, but my cat...

I had a few of these, they were alright I guess, but I don't think one could hold my attention now. I had, Sonic R, Mighty Ducks, Spider-Man, and Rampage. I had few others, but I don't remember them.

I used to own Double Dragon, Gauntlet and Bartman. They were pretty fun for about an hour and afterwards, you just put them away.
I also played Simon's Quest by stealing it from the teacher's desk (and actually got a couple of kids in trouble for it as well!!!) and Marble Madness. The Marble Madness game was FUN!
Other games I saw on display at Zellers and Woolco about 20 years ago were Karnov, Jordan vs. Bird, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, and The Little Mermaid.

I could never figure out why anybody liked playing these games. I used to watch other people play them as a kid and they seemed incredibly boring. I think I tried to play one once and couldn't figure it out.

And don't think the kids were supposed to enjoy them. Just be distracted by them so they wouldn't be running around everywhere. :p

But now the images won't come on the screen no more. Just the sound works.

When your 8 or 9 it grabs your attention so you are not all over the place or so time passes so you dont get bored, they were nice discractions but when the Gameboy came out they basicly dissappeared from store shelves.

Not really. Gameboy was out for a long time. I mean, as the previous poster mentioned, they made a Mortal Kombat Tiger game. Gameboy must have come out at least ten years before Mortal Kombat came out.

Yeah, the Tiger handhelds and the original Game Boy actually co-existed for a little while.

Tiger games were out long before Gameboy was, I remember playing Tiger games back in 1988 or so ad the GB didn't hit shelves until 1989 or 1990. The Tiger games stopped popping up a few years after GB's release. GB was out about 3 or 4 years before MK came out, which like like 1993 I believe.

No one liked them as already said they were little more then distractions for kids that did not have gameboys or gamegears.
And yes the Tiger games did coexist with the game boy for a while, it was when the gameboy became more affordable that tiger hand held games started fading away.

I had the Tiger version of Sonic the Hedgehog. I saw that there was a Tiger version of Mega Man 2, i wonder how that game played.
