We've all heard of the site famous for having a lot of info, but infamous for being inaccurate plenty of times.
That said, there are also plenty of wikipedia pages that have been made, but dedicated towards a specific franchise.
I myself have done edits for:
1. Mega Man Wikia: One I came acrossed recently. I done quite a bit of edits. Nothing major, but have added information on the Robot Masters Weapons and the bosses weak against/immune to them.
2. Smallville Wikia: This one I've done quite a bit. With the help of Neal Bailey from Superman Homepage, I made articles for the shortlived comic tie in to Smallville and added comic relevant info the the characters in the comic.
That said, I recommend those pages as well as:
1. Avatar The Last Airbender Wikia
2. GargWiki

It's not hosted by wikia, but it is a franchise-specific wiki. I used to go on "Mariowiki" a lot as Ultimatetoad. It's a pretty nice place.

#Come to TZ Wiki, it's fun and not so tricky! It's so simple that you'll geddit and start to want to edit, yeah!#
:) ;)
About the only Wikia I bother with is Teletraan 1 ( http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Main_Page ). It's alot of fun, primarily because it doesn't take itself too seriously. Lots of well written info, but in a way that's fittingly 'wink wink' given the source material. Which is great when you consider places like Wookiepedia are like reading a dang history book...seriously, who felt writing that much text about Emperor Palpatine was a good use of time? And heaven forbid you suggest something like Star Tours is just a fun park ride and not some key chapter in the saga. On a similiar note, Gundam Wikia...awful mess, with most of the articles reading like a 10 year old kid was telling you what happened in the episode he just saw. Ugh.
I'm pretty firmly focussed on TZ Wiki, TF Wiki and Wikipedia. The last one is at least an easy way to get rare info out there to people in an easily found format.

 We have a THEME SONG!!!!!? Sigged.
(and ftr, I agree with you halfway about Wookiepedia; I visit the place occasionly, but some of those guys really need to chill out. Star Wars fanboys are among the most rabid in the universe...)
I occasionally do edits and upload images (and edit image details) at the Marvel Database wiki as 'Mekairinek'.
I sometimes do edits on the Total Drama Wikia.

Dude, Wookieepedia is the best! I've only scratched the surface for Star Wars EU, so what I haven't read, the history-book-like article structure really helps. I've edited Wookieepedia a couple of times, and I used to run a Spyro Wikia, but I merged it with another Wiki and quit the Wikia. XD

What did you merge it with a Crash wikia:p

I like Wookiepedia and all, but it's damn hard to navigate the place. I wish it had a 'portal' like Marvel Database has when you look up certain characters and they show the primary 616 character and then sub-articles for alternate universe version.
Like this: http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Phoenix
At Wookiepedia, it takes me about 5-10 minutes to find the article about the 'Clone Wars' cartoon so i can see the episode guide. That's INSANE. I should be able to pop in 'Clone Wars' and get a page that lists the primary Clone Wars pages (the CG toon, the Tartakovsky toon and the actual war in the context of the movies and EU), at least. =/

It's a mess to be sure. Lots of things just run togethor or you have to wade through unrelated articles. It's at least amusing to see the edit wars over things like why people feel Soul Calibur 4 shouldn't be mentioned "OH NOEZ, TEH JAPANEZ IN MAH STAR WARS".....Come on, people. I mean, Darth Vader and The Hidden Fortress for starters...

WTH man, I loved the SC4 stuff. =/
Honestly, disambiguation pages (so that's what they're called) would help that wiki SO MUCH, it's crazy.
Just so that this thread doesn't turn into a 'Let's Dump on Wookieepedia' thread, I sometimes look at gaming wikis, especially the Mass Effect wiki. I refuse to read the books (which are glorified fan fiction at best), so it's nice to read up on details that I may have missed. For a game that only has one released game and two novels under its belt, that Wiki is extremely detailed, but easy to navigate.
And another wiki that could give Wookieepedia a run for its money? Memory Alpha, the Star Trek wiki.
