I've viewed the "Firestarter" promo a million times over of the past week. For some reason I got the idea that Malcom McDowel should play Derek Powers. He look's perfect for the role. Anyone agree?

Chris O'Donell would be a perfect Terry.

Bruce? I've got no clue right now.

Maxx? Brandi Why? Cause they both annoy me.

Batman/Terry- Heath Ledger

Bruce Wayne- Paul Newman

Derek Powers- Michael Keaton

Commisioner Barbara Gordon- Anne Bancroft

Dana Tan- Tara Reid (yeah I know that Reid's not Asian, but I'm taking liberties here.)

Mr. Fixx- Dwayne Johnson

Melanie/Ten- Rachel Leight Cook

Drejj (leader of Jokerz)- Sean William Scott

King (head of Royal Flush Gang.)- Malcolm McDowell

Dana would be Kristin Kreuk, without a doubt.

Oh I like your idea much more thatn mine. I'd actually care about your Dana. In my cast list, I figured he'd dump Dana for Melanie.

There are plenty of gorgeous Chinese-American actresses to play Dana Tan.

I can't think of one that's young enough for the role. The best I can think of is Zhang Ziyi of CTHD fame, but she might be too old and her English isn't that great.

I like Kreuk, but there are certainly other girls that would do better in that role, most likely an unknown one at that. And no, Chris would not do well as Terry at all. Now, I love O'Donnell, he's one of my fav actors and I would love to see him as Nighty, but he just doesn't have the right look for Terry, not to mention the fact that he's just too old for it. I don't think Heath, as hot as he is, has the right look either. I could easily see Terry being played by some unknown actor.

I don't know why anyone is at all opposed to Kreuk. She's half Asian, (we don't know for SURE that Dana's Asian; we're nearly positive, but aren't SURE,) she's the right age. And she can act.

If you guys say there are better actresses to play Dana, please just name them. I haven't heard anything really more convincing. No offense, but I haven't.

Her name is Dana Tan
that's a Chinese name

besides, it'll be a fresh new face, noone's ever heard of.
But this topic is moot because there'll never be a BB Live action movie/series.

I thought we already just knew the she was Chinese. And yeah, the chances of there being a live action BB series is like a negative number, it's still fun to do what if's! I like Kreuk, she's cool and all, I just feel that there are a lot better qualified actresses for playing Dana Tan. And by better qualified I don't mean a better actress, just that they would do a better job in that role. You can look like the part, but suck at doing it right. I don't know of many chinese, half chinese, or whatever actresses, otherwise I would name some in a heartbeat. But I still think that an unknown actress would do best in that particular role, the same with Terry's.

Funny; weren't you just arguing that it's been established that Dana is at least Asian, if not Chinese, a month ago with another user? :P

Even if Dana's last name is Tan, it can be argued that her father was Chinese and her mother wasn't... I don't see the problem with taking a creative license like that. I'll draw the line at getting a white actress to play her though.... I think her Asian-ness (O_o) is part of her charm. Plus, her last name is Tan.

For Bruce, I'd say Charlton Heston. For Powers, I'd go with the guy that played Peterman on Seinfeld (I can't for the life of me remember his name...) Terry, that's a tough one, as is Dana.... honest;y, I'd go wtih unknowns on both counts... and I like the Brandi/Max thing, the built-in annoyance Brandi has would translate well to Max's character...

I agree. I think a lead asian female would bring a little diversity to the leggy blondes that dominate movies at the moment.

As for Dana, it seems we are being very picky. She is drawn with clear Asian descent, her dad is further proof and her name seems to clinch the deal.
We are given more about her ethinic background that any other character! No one seems to doubt that Terry is American. 'Yeah, he has an American accent, but that's not enough - I reckon he's German.. unless I see a birth certificate I'm not convinced! :D He's never clearly spelt out he's American...' ;)

Perhaps the artists have been kind and if we look closely we might just spot those vital birth certificates lurking in the back of her house amoung the shelves... getting looking everyone.. :p

I'm with you... TOTALLY !!!

I think that they should just stay away from the live action altogether, and go with the animated movies- with a decent budget... look at the track records. The animated films have been FAR AND AWAY better than ANY of the live action ones so far.
"Phantasm" was done on what, a $2 million dollar budget ???!!!
If they upped it to $10 million or even $20 million, that would still be a whole lot cheaper than the $90 million flop "Batman & Robin", and we'd all get a much better film with the "Animated Series" folks at the helm.

Sorry, I guess we all can dream...

I reckon he's German

Actually, I always thought Terry was Irish-American.
His name is McGinnis. And he's got the dark Irish look: black hair, blue eyes.

Bruce Wayne is probably Saxon. Just guessing there though.

McGinnis does have an irish ring - or maybe a Scottish one at least. I always thought he had a slightly Italian feel about him, but I can see the irish reference... black hair, blue eyes...

They need a half asian/half white guy to play Terry.
Clint Eastwood would be perfect for old Bruce.
Kruek would be a perfect Dana.

Any particular reason why they need a half asian/half white guy to play Terry? They'll already have a half asian/half white girl playing Dana. ;)

what about michael keaton with aging makeup to be bruce wayne, and i think stifler as one of the jokerz is an awesome idea!!

but not chris odonnel as terry, i prefer an unknown with a josh hartnet or tom welling characteristic. i dont really think terry looks asian, maybe his grandma's grandma was half asian, but thats stretching it. :p

Yeah, blue eyes are obviously a sign of Asian genes. :)

Um.... to be half Asian, one of your parents has to be Asian. Mary isn't and neither is Warren. :P

well..if we're talking tv series..i think you could transplant some stars of some other fantasy/sci fi hits...

derek powers: i might consider using good ol "number one" jhonathan frankes(i'm sure i majory screwed up his name spelling ;) ..i mostly choose him because of his awesome potrayal of the main villan david xanatos on gargoyles..i think that personality could translate perfectly to derek powers.

dana: lots of debates on this one..i racked my brain and came up with someone. i'll be darned if i can remember her name though
:( xena fans, you gotta help me out with this one. it was the young asian girl on the very last xena ep-the girl who was xena's sidekick/protege in the flashbacks. the one who betrayed xena and killed her own father-and later became a spirit..she was really cute looking. lots of acting talent too. i could really picture her as a live action dana.

bruce wayne: almost as hard to cast as dana..if by some miracle we could get sean connery to do a tv series role that would work out great i'd think..if not then he'd make a really great bruce in a big budget batman beyond movie i think...but back to the tv series..the man who has everything-the look, the acting talent and the sheer intimidation factor-marc callus: a.k.a the undertaker of the wwf. just put some slight aging make-up and you have the perfect bruce wayne. i even think he could tackle the voice really well.

terry-put any new, talented fresh face in this role. it did wonders for smallville. i think it helps the audience of hard core fans like us, if we don't see some well known hollywood joker trying to wear the bat suit..there's kind of a common man connection thing going on with that. it's my hope that if by some chance in heck we do get a live batman beyond somday, in the lead role is sombody new to the buisness..

that's what i've come up with so far...let me know what you think and again- if anybody can remember my dana choice's name and other stuff she did, that would be really cool. thanx :D

Let's not start arguing about who's who on BB again. I had enough trouble last time.
