I'm trying to upload a bunch of user videos on Gametrailers, but the only way I know how is using analog VHS, then transferring the recordings to computer using my WinTV program via coaxial cable (my archaic VHS has only one speaker jack instead of both the left and right jacks, making my audio-video cables useless, and I don't want to buy an S-cable for this.)
Besides having to adjust the brightness settings, the audio comes out hissy. I've tried to rip the audio in audacity, but that program has always hated me for some reason, because all I get is a high-pitched whistle for an imported track.
I've also tried messing with the audio setting in WinTV directly, but have no idea how to adjust my settings to cancel out the hiss and still keep the audio.
So, summing up: how do I get rid of the hissing?
