By popular request, we're moving into the seventh incarnation of this thread. Same rules apply guys and gals.

What are you listening to?

I'm still rocking out to the Arm Yourself album by Bulletproof Messenger, especially "Where We All Belong" because that song is amazing.

That's a pretty bold statement.

I wouldn't say they're miles apart in quality, as Elvis' version is probably my favorite Elvis song. I just think Dwight's is a little better. That, and Dwight certainly has balls; he released covers of Elvis, Buck Owens, Cheap Trick and Queen as singles.

"Cherokee Boogie" by BR549 right now. Of course, they were BR5-49 at the time.

Ha, whereas I think she completely ruins it with her nasal voice. Go figure.

Tim McGraw - Back When

Ironic: a country-pop singer, doing a song that criticizes country-pop, co-written by former Tom Petty drummer Stan Lynch.

I'm guessing you don't like Rascal Flatts either. But then again, almost no adults do.

Tim McGraw - Back When

Ironic: a country-pop singer, doing a song that criticizes country-pop, co-written by former Tom Petty drummer Stan Lynch.

I always found that a rather ironic song too.

"Maybe It Was Memphis" by Pam Tillis. I like the album version better, because the radio edit has an awkward steel guitar solo before the final verse that seems to bump the song into 7/8 time for a bar or two, as opposed to the much more fluid electric guitar solo on the album version.

I have noticed that the U.S is fickle with their rock music, it comes in waves. Look at 80's hair, early 90's grunge, late 90's NuMetal and then the "garage" bands of the early 00's. it seems like Rock in the U.S is a come and go business.

I for one have supported the same bands since i got into them, AIC, Korn, Weezer, Slipknot, Disturbed and others have always been in heavy rotation with me.

With Testament, try their newest one, The Formation of Damnation. Blows Death Magnetic out of the water. Megadeth's most recent one, United Abominations, is worth a listen as well, and we should get another new one from them this year. Exodus, Heathen, and Metal Church are other great bands from that era, as well.
