Ash, Brock and Dawn continue their adventures through the land of Sinnoh, meeting some brand new Pokémon, rivals, and challenges along the way!

4

Recently:
Dawn caught a Swinub.
Ash’s Gligar evolved into a Gliscor.
And the entire gang is competing in a Summer School run by Prof Rohan.
4

Last Time:
US title: "One Team, Two Team, Red Team, Blue Team!"
JPN title: "The Final Showdown! Pokemon Triathlon!"
After the Trainers were finished with the training, they had to use a Pokémon to bring them across a rigorous track to the finish line. Who wound up victorius? Well, a lot of people did.
4

This Time:
US title: "A Lean Mean Team Rocket Machine!"
JPN title: "Back to Basics, Rocket-Dan!?"
After a tiring day, Team Rocket returns to find out that they've expanded in weight. How will they deal with this dilemma?
4
Notes:
* Speaking of weight loss, I'd like to recommend never watching the Sailor moon episode - "Usagi teaches you how to lose weight!" Complete waste of time (and/or brain cells).
* This episode is funny!
* I'm sleepy.

-Pocha sculpture.
-Rockets and Satoshi say the title
-Hikari is trying to ruin Pocha. He'll remember this.
-Kimi no Soba de!
-Pachi is alive.
-Takeshi is still win.
-Old Rocket motto.
-Double Trouble.

Clearly an episode for veteran viewers.

Any idea on when they're going to replay this episode? I was planning on watching it, but I've got plummers here and they're completely blocking out my way of getting to a television.

It is nice to know they don't compliment ignore us and our love of the past. The old Team Rocket motto is back and I hope it is here to stay.

Still the reason why the Team Rocket regulars aren't effective theves, they are too much about glory, real theves are conspequedes, it is all about everyone now knowing your theives, if they were good theifs, they would have gotten in the car and driven away, instead of taking off their disguice and engage in a fight. They should think of a career change, because being theifs may not be for them.

There are some people who upload them on YouTube. They don't really re-run episodes on CN though.

(sigh)

This episode wasn't good to me for some reason.

The only parts I remembered liking were:

- Prefessor Oak's appearance, and because Dawn's there, with her love of him poems, is intreguing.
- Team Rocket breaking in the Pokemon Center, with the new outfits.
- Brock still being Poison Jab'd by Croagunk, even though he was only imagining about Nurse Joy.
- The "Team Rocket's Rockin" song played near the end.

Other than that, this episode was unsually bad. :ack:

They will probably rerun it when the next Pokemon movie premeres on CN, as part of a marathon to lead into it.

Maybe the episode will be on the CN website.

This episode was full of Team Rocket nostalgic EPICNESS! I can't even describe how pleased I was watching this episode.

Well I guess if you're not a veteran Pokemon fan/viewer like myself, it would be hard for you to appreciate the episode for what it was.

Highly unlikely. It was only a one-time occasion for the RAW and I'm sure the same will apply for the dub.

I've been watching it since it's beginning! I must really be different then.

Also, from the fact it just got off from an epic win saga in the Pokemon Summer Academy, might be a problem, because sometimes, if Pokemon has too much of an awesome episode, the next episode might be subpar to poor. Right?

Maybe I should see screeshots of future episodes from now on...

I don't know about that. I've been watching from the beginning too and I still loved this episode. I think it has more to do with the different tastes for different people.

While it would be cool to hear the original motto from now on, I think that this was just a one time thing since the whole theme of the episode was Team Rocket getting back to basics. As for Team Rocket being good theives, I don't think that they ever were good theives to begin with. That's why they're more like comedy relief theives than actual theives. If they won all of the time, then it wouldn't be as funny. Besides that, they seem happy with being theives, despite almost always losing, and since this episode was going back to basics, Team Rocket messing up as always was back to basics.

For me, I loved this episode. It was so odd how Team Rocket got more wieght and didn't really notice it. After not having good meals for a long time and only being at the summer school for a week, you would think that they wouldn't get that much wieght. Still, it was kind of funny how they thought that they lost their mean personalities by gaining weight.

I thought that Dawn doing her pracitcing with Piplup was cool and all, but I kept on wondering why she didn't use her other Pokemon. She has a nice amount of Pokemon on her team, yet she keeps on using Piplup. My main issue with Dawn is that she doesn't give her Pokemon close to equal attention and pracitces. I actually thought that was the reason why Piplup collasped from exhaustion. Dawn has been using it so much and so often that it doesn't get enough proper rest.

I did think that her concern for Piplup was touching though. Still wish she would do something with her other Pokemon. I also wish that she wouldn't still think of Prof. Oak as the Pokemon poetry guy. I would think that his role as a researcher would be more well-known than his poetry. Anyway, it was nice that Ash called him since he hasn't done that in ages. I also loved seeing Brock's daydream to be with Nurse Joy and have that stopped by Crogunk again. Man, Crogunk totally made this gag funny for me again.

I definitely loved seeing Team Rocket drive in that cool car and wearing those great new outfits. They really looked cool in those. Too bad that they were caught, but it was worth it to hear the old motto. Even though I've been watching my season one DVDs lately, it was nice to hear that motto in a new episode. It would have been cool if Ash or Brock told Dawn that was their first motto, but oh well. The robot car looked pretty cool, but it's too bad that it wasn't effective against Pikachu's attacks. One of the best parts of the episode, if the the best part, was hearing Double Trouble. That was so epic win right there. I wish we would have heard the original voices for Jessie and James there, but I was still happy with what we got.

Of course, Team Rocket blasted off again and Ash and his friends went on their way. At least it was a great episode that had a lot of noods to the vetern watchers of the series.

Overall, I loved this episode for being more about Team Rocket. I think that we definitely need more Team Rocket episodes every now and then since they still can be really funny. I so loved hearing the original motto and Double Trouble again. Good times, good times. I'll be really happy to watch next week's episode too.

Not really.

Remember the episode where Jessie's Yanma turned into a Yanmega? That episode had a lot of Team Rocket ownage.

Well it was "Back to Basics". Back to their first appearance when they actually seemed threatening and competent and less like joke villains than they do today.

This episode was relaly funny. (Then again, I was watchinig it at 2am last night, and I'm just silly when I'm up that late...) But seriously, this was a really funny episode.

This was a great nostalgic episode, seeing as they used more stelthy tacktics, giant robots, and even the original motto  .

Yeah, Ash and Dawn were getting advice from Prof. Oak, but it wasn't really that important to me.

Decent episode (definatly worth watching at 2am :p )

Oh, and I think I forgot to mention during last week's episode, Piplup was actually in its pokeball!!!  That was the first time in a really long time that Piplup was in its pokeball.

It was in a Pokeball in "The Psyduck Stops Here", aired about a month ago.

Ok. And probably Dawn's last contest, but that's only for a few seconds.
