Just curious, when does Geass usually pop onto the fix? I really want to see last night's (mostly for the ending) since I missed the TV airing.

This Saturday, I had the fortune of finding out one of my favorite Boondocks episodes was on. So just this once, I'm including this line too:
You’re just mad ‘cause your ass is old.
First thing you do is just pick up the phone.
Lethal Interjection livin’ next to your home.
Hey f****** grandpa, old n***** it’s on!
And now for the anime lines. I'm not gonna list Inuyasha anymore, just the 1-5 block that's being advertised. So glad Code Geass is on earlier, but I am a bit disappointed that Morobito is off the air for a while.
Bleach
Ichigo: H-GAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! An exploding egg!
Ririn: You have weird dreams, Ichigo!
Code Geass R2
Zero: Viceroy Nunally has ordered Zero into exile! Since we are all Zero, we must all leave this country at once! No matter where we go, we are all Japan, for we carry it in our hearts! Let us all set out for a new land!
Kaguya: Come on, all you Zeroes, let’s go to a new world!
Tamkai: Time to get exiled, everybody! We’re all Zero, so we’re all outta here!
Zeroes: That’s right, I’m Zero! Let’s get deported! I’m Zero, too!
(A million Zeroes; if we had 10,000 Ones in there too, we could make 10,000 Googles.:D:D:D:D:D Okay yeah, that was bad. )
Shin Chan
Reruns
Fullmetal Alchemist
Mugear: I’ll never surrender the spring! As long as I have the red water, nothing can stop me! Least of all a diminutive State Alchemist and his copycat friends!
…
Edward: “Diminutive State Alchemist”? Points for the big word, but you’re still going down!
Death Note
(Same as last week, ugh...)
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Togusa: Paintings shouldn’t be treated roughly. Unlike electronic data, it can’t be duplicated, dumbass!
Cowboy Bebop
(R.I.P., Mr. Roarke)
Spike: So that’s the story. And what was the real lesson? Don’t leave things in the fridge.
Big O
Schwartzwald: A Megadeus chooses its Dominus.
Alan: Who’s there?! *Big Duo starts flying away on its own while attacking Alan* But I haven’t killed him yet!
Schwartzwald: You, you possess the foolishness of both man and machines.
Alan: Shut up!
Schwartwald: It chooses one who controls the power of God created by man, one who is able to arrive at one truth. That’s not the case with you!
Big Duo: YE GUILTY.
Alan: AAAHHHHHHHH!
*Alan is consumed by Big Duo*

Chicken (11:15): 439,000
The Boondocks: 422,000
The PJs: 377,000
there you go!
Up: Chicken (11:15 x2)
New: The Boondocks, The PJs
It seems that The PJs isn't doing too bad after all.

Good for the The PJs, I think that combo with the Boondocks works.
Family Guy (11:00): 679,000
Chicken: 660,000
KotH: 422,000
Oh my God, what was on last Sunday? KOTH couldn't have killed that much momentum, Family Guy usually does better.
1. Nice to see PJ's pulling its weight. Hopefully this means we see the unaired eps too.
2. Action crashed and burned on Saturday. Yes Kim, Moribito was a great idea. Not that Geass is doing much better either.
One can only wonder how Geass would have done if it aired back to back with Gurren Lagann on Sci-Fi.
3. Sunday, ow. King of the Hill is NOT pulling its weight at ALL.

Adult Swim had a good thing going and now they're stretching too thin and picking up more and more shows that aren't drawing an audience. They needed to be humbled it looks like that time has finally arrived.

I guess there's no place for shows that aren't filled with pop culture references every five seconds, insanely bloody violence, or extreme sexual and scatogical humor on the AS lineup.

It's not like Family Guy is doing that much better right now, though. Doesn't that regularly score in the 900,000-1 million area? Granted, the gap between FG/Chicken and KOTH is pretty substantial, but I seriously doubt AS Sunday is getting lower ratings overall simply because KOTH debuted. There are other factors at play here.

How is it not funny? Adult Swim pretty much flushed their entire acquisition budget down the toilet. This is even funnier than when they blew all that money on Pee-Wee's Playhouse only to have it bomb hard.
By the way, did anyone see that bump that completely ripped off The Colbert Report?

Perhaps all these comedy acquisitions failing will show that the line isn`t between comedy and anime, it's between Seth-made shows and everything else.A lot of posters have been saying this for weeks. The new acquisitions haven't pulled their weight in the ratings, and ratings are still down overall for [as] (or are they?) I wonder when CN will finally have enough and start firing [as] people and putting more of their people in the [as] dept in order to fix things. This would mean the definite end to anime on [as], but we were headed there anyway.
Yes Kim, Moribito was a great idea.
I thought Moribito was a CN acquisition, but went to [as] after Jennifer Davidson (who apparently had a plan for the series on CN) died and they starting purging the network of anime.

Well, if all their non-anime shows bomb really badly, then the anime will look better by comparison, but that will never happen. I mean, no matter how badly their other shows do, Adult Swim can always count on Family Guy and Robot Chicken to bring in the ratings. Though, yeah, if all their other shows other than Family Guy and Robot Chicken bomb then eventually they'll just fill their entire schedule with Family Guy and Robot Chicken and they won't bother getting any more anime.

We've only seen ratings for two weeks so far, and while they've been down from where they were last year, they haven't been horrible. It's way too early for CN to start firing people.
I thought Moribito was a CN acquisition, but went to [as] after Jennifer Davidson (who apparently had a plan for the series on CN) died and they starting purging the network of anime.
That's the theory, but it hasn't been proven. It's just speculation.

I refuse to watch Adult Swim anymore. Not a declaration of intent, just an observation of my attitude towards them that's been developing for a long while now. Once the final season of VB airs, which I'll probably just download anyway, I'll be done with them for good, unless they radically change their approach. I figure the sooner they crash and burn, the sooner they can stand as a historical example of how to take a great thing and ruin it, and the sooner something might be able to rise from the ashes to learn from their mistakes.
The last time I felt Adult Swim was truly worth watching as a WHOLE was 2003, 2004 at the latest. It's been slow downhill from there, and they've never reversed trend. Probably the root of their problem is that they bought into the whole retarded idea of "demographics", and segmented their viewing population with scheduling. "Divide and Conquer" is classic Sun Tzu for defeating your ENEMY. They used it to defeat themselves. While the current Adult Swim has struck me as inscrutably adversarial towards their viewers, it's a fact that those viewers ARE their livelihood.
Then, after thus dividing their population into interest groups, they decided that certain interest groups weren't doing their "job" to provide ratings, and marginalized them. And so further and further refined and narrowed their core demographic until they were basically left with "a channel for stoners and insomniacs". I'm quite convinced really that dividing their schedule into "Comedy" and "Action" was the single worst idea they ever had, and is both the root and epitomization of this whole problem they're having. And based on how their Sunday numbers are starting to plummet, I think the effects of the problem may finally be coming home to roost.
Their bubble is popping and it's only a matter of time now. I give them another year unless they come up with something revolutionary, and I think they missed the opportunity to course correct a long time back. In fact, it's the prime opportunity for a competitor to step in and capitalize on their disaffected viewership. But no one is REALLY doing that, so far as I can see, which is a shame.

I'm another one of those guys who finds these developments hilarious, in a dark way. AS is getting their just desserts for abandoning their core mission like what happened to CN in 2007. When AS gets back on track the ratings will go up, but until then their ratings will go into freefall.

As much as I enjoy the Adult Swim bashing, I must again point out that it's only been two weeks that the ratings have been down, and the second week they weren't even down that much. As much as old school fans would hate it, Adult Swim could easily replace their entire schedule with Family Guy and Robot Chicken and it would get great ratings.

This, basically. I can tell you that before the split I watched [as] all the time and then when they starting messing with anime and eventually completely removing it that I watch the channel less, if it all. My friends feel the same way. And while me and my friends are a very small group with no Nielsen boxes, I think this divide has indeed hurt fans who regularly watched the block instead of tuning in just for FG.
Sure, ratings are down. But, it's the start of the new year. Now, if February's numbers stink, then we'll have a problem. Sure, [as] has been having problems, but if the first "Sweeps" of the year sink, then the higher-ups at Turner/TW may start putting [as] execs "on notice." [/colbert]
BTW, I'm going to stop putting the .com updates here and probably put them in their own threads: one for this year's games and another for this year's original videos, along with individual threads for the occasional Top 10 and stupid contest. Hopefully, we get discussions!

I suppose I could ask him next time I see him about how he found out DN was airing, but that would be a rather awkward conversation opener, wouldn't it? :)
Since we discussed a few other anime before Death Note, however, I gather that he watches more than one or two shows, so he may have researched its schedule more than the average viewer.
