We`ve probably done this kind of thing before, but I felt like posting my schedule for my own personal "perfect" station that I created for a similar thread in another board:

Starting from 1:00 AM:

1:00: Monsters. (it`s a show, different weird monster tales)
1:30: The Twilight Zone.
2:00: Alfred Hitchcock.
2:30: the original Lost In Space.
3-5: random showings of unsuccessful tv pilots and cartoons that got cancelled after one or two episodes.
5:00: Peewees playhouse.
5:30: Blues Clues.
6:00: Astroboy. (VINTAGE anime. The GOOD stuff.)
6:30: Gigantor.
7:00: Digimon.
7:30: He-Man.
8:00: She-Ra.
8:30: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
9:00: The Real Ghostbusters.
9:30: Extreme Ghostbusters.
10:00: original Space Ghost/Herculoids.
10:30: Pinky & The Brain.
11:00: The Super Mario Brothers Super Show!
12:00: Captain N.
12:30: Earthworm Jim.
1-3: Monster Movie time!!!
3-4: Mystery Science Theatre 3000.
4:00: The original Batman tv show.
5:00: The A-team. (MR.T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
5:30: Ultraman.
6-7: random sid & marty kroft shows.
7:00: transformers.
7:30: G.I. Joe.
8:00: Simpsons.
8:30: Futurama.
9:00: The Tick.
9:30: The Muppet Show.
10-12: Some other movie time!!!
12:00: Invader Zim. (Midnight zim would be a permanent tradition for as long as the network existed)
12:30: Pokemon. (I don`t know why it`s on this late. It just is.)

Commercial breaks would be used to play bizarre short films and surreal music videos. Not to mention amusing original skits like cartoon network does. (Except mine would use weird characters noone even remembers... imagine Weed-killer and Eggplant Wizard discussing politics. Don`t know who the hell they are? GOOD! Mwahahaha!)

Like all networks, the weekend schedule would be different...saturday is a solid 24 hours of movies (I sure do love me movies, I do) and sundays would be a mish-mash of the weird and ludicrous... foreign sitcoms, cruel japanese gameshows, anime, silent films, black and white cartoons, rare weird commercials and a bunch of original series in a prime-time block. Oh yeah, and "hong kong phooey" cartoons will be played without warning throughout the weekend...don`t ask why. Just accept THE PHOOEY!

The monster movie timeslot would be for stuff like "the green slime" and "return of the fly". The prime time movies would include everything from "dogma" and "naked lunch" to "james and the giant peach" and "attack of the killer tomatoes". Just anything really, really unique and surreal.

So whaddaya think? What would you add/change?

Just when I thought I was the only Car 54 fan. "Ooh! Ooh!"

What about occasionally substituting Filmation's Ghostbusters in your Ghostbusters block?

On a side note, am I the only one who`s ever seen "monsters?"
It used to rerun a lot on scifi channel. I found it better than dark shadows (it was made by the same people) and tales from the crypt. Some of the stories were brilliant, and they ALL involved my favorite thing ever, monsters! Some were pretty deep and artistic too.

If a channel like mine ever existed, I would never get any sleep whatsoever. Hence it is a GOOD thing that *all* your favorite shows are never airing at once :P

...I never got to see filmation`s ghostbusters, so i`m unable to form an opinion... but since I like just about anything, and it does have monsters, I guess i`d have to find a way to squeeze it in.

I remember it vaguely from it's original run on whatever network it was on.

I love Monsters and Tales from the Darkside, but the Sci-Fi Channel is a bunch of monkeys at the controls, where as the cartoon network is run by people who used to watch 321 Contact when they were kids, or were forced to watch Soap Operas by their parents or baby sitters.

I forgot Jeeves and Wooster. Idiot and after selecting a complimentary avatar - yeah that would be in there - I may have to sacrifice Knight Rider to fit that in! That was an excellent show! And Boy Meets World! Curses! There is simply not enough hours in the day!!

Can we extend the length of day for this Network? say, imagine it's on a planet that has a 30hour rotation :D

Here's my ideas for new networks.

SNL Network- 24 hours of Saturday Night Live reruns, and the films and television series the alumni have starred in. This network would be huge, spanning from a crap load of films from the early seventies on up. Can you imagine. Also can be named Second City network.

The Action Channel- Get USA to do this one. Let's see here, every action show in existence, Airwolf, Riptide, Magnum P.I., A-Team, Knight Rider(maybe more on the sci-fi side), Street Hawk, Miami Vice, Wiseguy, 21 Jump Street, Green Hornet, Mission: Impossible, 50's version of Mike Hammer, Wild Wild West (again sci-fi), CH.ips, Rawhide, Starsky & Hutch, Dukes of Hazzard, and the list goes on. Not to mention action movies, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Commando, Dirty Harry, etc.

Toonami- I don't care dammit, it will happen someday.

Library Channel- Movies, television series such as Little House on the Prarie that are all based on books and literature. Yeah, I know, the Hallmark Channel may have me beat.

Channels I would make if I ruled TV:

Stomp: A channel dedicated to giant monsters.
Kick: Martial arts flicks
Slaughterama: Horror movies, the worse the better
Tights: Movies, TV shows, cartoons, serials etc. about super heros
Rock 'n' Reel: Music oriented films.
Neo-Tokyo: Anime

I will post a schedule for a non - theme channel later.

I think those schedules need more classic cartoons... say... 4 hours each day? :D

I don't think we need a Mario Brothers TV Show on the air. They have made enough games to keep any Mario fan busy.

I could do without simpsons, forever. ;)

1000th post!

Doomboy
03-11-2002, 04:50 PM
7am-12am INVADER ZIM
12am-4pm Dragonball series(dragonball, Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT)
