The theme music on BTAS was always awesome and usually fit the characters like a glove. But whos did you like best?

Personally I cant make up my mind at the moment so im going to think this over some more before I vote.

I love Nightwing's theme. It's so heroic.

Joker hands down. *begins humming Joker theme out loud in computer lab.* :D

OK this was a REALLY hard choice to make, but I decided on Batgirl. Both her TNBA and BTAS themes were really catchy and cool (although BTAS is what clinches it for me.) Every time they played her theme music my ears perked up (It was perhaps the best part of Girls night out! ;) )

Joker came O so very close. His theme was the best in Almost got 'im, I thought. When he took over Gotham Live. And of course there will always be a special place in my heart for Mr Freeze and Clayface's themes... oh if only they would release a soundtrack :( ...

I love Joker's theme, it's very loopy, yet also very sinister. :D

Oh my god, I love Joker's jingle. Cute yet creepy... Very "Joker".

In keeping with this topic, does anyone have a sample of each of the themes?

Joker, followed by Catwoman....hey, I can't help it, but it's also because I can't really remember the other ones.

I picked Mr. Freeze. The music that played when he was in prison looking at that woman in the glass jar and thinking about his wife tugs at my heartstrings to this day. :(

And yeah, I'd love to grab a CD with the BTAS themes on it. :D

Shirley Walker did such an AWESOME job with these themes that its nearly impossible to choose what is the best. Nightwing has to have been the best pure heroic song, Joker has the most well-known and ironically adequate, and Two-Face's is probably the most fitting. But my vote went to Clayface's, because his theme was so sad and tragic that it not only fit the character to a tee, but the entire show as well. The music in the two original Clayface episodes have to be the best of the series.

I had to vote for Joker's theme. Easily the most hummable of the melodies, though I am partial to the Mad Hatter's theme as well.

I Voted for SOMEONE ELSE ENTIRELY in this case, Jervis.

Well, at least SOMEONE voted for Two-Face. (Me.)

Does that mean I get to vote twice?

Anyway, this is a really tough call, because all of those characters you picked have very good theme songs that match their characters. All of them are equally good in their own different ways.

Thing is, does Mr. Freeze actually have his own theme? I can't really think of one. He had different themes in each of his episodes, but nothing consistant over the course of his episodes.

The one im thinking of is the one he had in the first 2. Where he was looking at the snow dome in arkham at the end. Thats the one I really associate with him. I dont think they used that in TNBA though... and Im not sure if they did in Sub Zero.

Nightwing grabbed my vote...It would've been Robin (Tim), but that's because I've heard it over and over again in ROTJ and on the ROTJ Soundtrack..

Joker's theme song is just so awesome, I could hear the first three notes and know it was it, it's just so meant for him. But, I'm a big Nighty fan, and I love Nighty's song too, it's brave and all that stuff, heck I play it on the piano all the time. So of course I had to vote for him, otherwise I would have gone for Joker hands down.

Clayface and Mr. Freeze both have very sad, moving themes and I love them both. However I voted for Clayface just because his "true" theme was only played during "Feat of Clay" which makes it that much sweeter.

I also love Nightwing’s theme, not when it's usually played (which I find ok). The version I love is the slow version played after Dick "resigns" from being Robin and walks away.

Yup, it should come as no surprise. I love the "Joker Jingle"... lol! I thought that was so funny, whoever said that first. I know of another "theme" though. In the BTAS episodes, Scarecrow had a pretty wicked cool theme.

Although, once Batman Beyond came along, hearing the original Batman theme playing while Bruce fought Inque... That really comes in a close second.

i agree that the BB version of the BTAS theme rocked

as did that batsuit

Not to mock the Mr. Freeze theme subject again, but...as much as I love his theme from HEART OF ICE (this, I guess, should have been his definitive theme), I still like his theme from BATMAN & ROBIN (yes, THAT movie) more. That was about the only good musical piece to come out of that film.

I remember playing the video game (far superior to the movie) and during many action sequences you had the sad, tear-jerkin' Mr. Freeze theme playing in the background. It was very eerie.

:)

What I don't understand about these themes is that once the new episodes came out, you rarely heard these things. Batman's theme only appeared ONCE, I think, in LOVE IS A CROC; Two-Face's ONCE in JUDGEMENT DAY, the Joker's was only hummed in MAD LOVE and played on a jack-in-the-box in WORLD'S FINEST...and the rest weren't even heard, unless created for new characters (Nightwing, Creeper, etc). Why is that?

SUB-ZERO did the same thing. All the music was fine, but a little consistancy would be nice.

Sadlly, it's tough to get a download of music from the series.
KidRhino should drop a BTAS cd, stocked w. character suites.

1. BTAS series theme
2. Mr. Freeze
3. Poison Ivy
4. The Penguin (although I didn't care for his theme)
5. Scarecrow
6. The Clock King
7. Ra's al Ghul/Talia (i really liked the music in his stories)
8. Clayface
9. Killer Croc
10. The Riddler
11. Two-Face
12. Catwoman
13. Maxie Zeus
14. Rupert Thorne
15. Harley Quinn
16. Man-Bat
17. Harley & Ivy
18. The Joker
almost forgot the Mad Hatter & Kiyodai Ken

there's enough to have well over 20 tracks.

as for the best, after Batman, easy...the Joker!!! It worked well with his playful side (as in The Last Laugh) yet can be turned around into a dark score (as in The Man Who Killed Batman)

Freeze had a great theme.

Also loved the Riddler's theme at the end of "If You're So Smart...", when Daniel Mockridge was locking his doors, shotgun in hand, trying to fall asleep, nervous the Riddler may strike again!!! Great Bruce Wayne narrative as that whole scene ensued: "How much is a good night's sleep worth? Now THERE'S a riddle for ya.''

and just for kicks, why not the themes for The Condiment King, The Packrat, & Mighty Mom!!! I love that episode. I thought I was watching The Tick for a second!!! I know they were spin-offs of Jerry Seinfled & Rosanne Barr/Arnold. But who was the Packrat suposed to be a "clone" of?

Spin-off of Jerry Seinfeld? Whuh? Which one?

No offense, but I have no idea what you're talking about. Two-Face's theme is heard numerous times (in Two-Face parts 1 and 2, Judgment Day, and I think in Second Chance) Joker's theme is all over the place. Most of them got plenty of playing time.

Thanks Nightflower; yes, I meant just the NEW batch of episodes, the TNBA ones. They rarely used the themes from the original 85 episodes; they made up new ones most of the time, or they created episode-based themes.

They did the same with SUB-ZERO; no one had their usual BTAS theme in that movie. The music they used instead was just as great, but it was not the same thing. The only previously used musical piece they had was Danny Elfman's main Batman theme from the opening of the 1989 movie.

I would have to go with the Joker's theme, it's just so happy, and fun!

How can you forget the theme to GREY GHOST!! That one will always be in my head. And just watching the young Bruce watch tv, getting pre-concieved Ideas of how to be a Hero was awesome.

Only thing that makes me scratch my head now, is the animation on the Greay ghost was very good, as the young Bruced watched. Yet it was supposed to be live action. MAN, I they never had shows that looked that good back in the day.

Hatter's theme was dope! I like the little flute theme they played in "Make 'Em Laugh", as Bats shadow casted over Tetch's door.

Those mini-themes are called leit motifs in musical terms. Yeah, they're cool. The Joker's was too "Johnny Carson" for me, but it was certainly a good one. I prefer Two-Face's; it was tense. I would also like to hear a CD with all of them on it. I would buy it in a sec.

HelloOooo... Is anyone at WB reading this? :D
