Does anyone watch this show? If you do, which geek would you be?

Are you a movie geek? tv? music? or would you be a special guest geek. If so, what would be your field of knowledge?

You really don't have to watch the show to answer this question. What field are you a geek in?

There's no way I could be the movie geek. That guy knows way too much about films. I could be a horror or metal geek easily. Then there's always Batman.

I could be a Looney Tunes, Beatles, or Three Stooges geek myself.

Well I'm finding a lot of my comic knowledge has faded over the last few years. When they had the comic geek on I couldn't even remember the Silver Surfer's real name (Norrin Rad) or his wife's (Shala Bal). So unless I start reading more back comics that's probably out.

I could easily be a Simpsons geek or a Star Wars geek. And I'm sure I culd hold my own as a cartoon geek, provided it doesn't include anime.

I'm the biggest WWF Geek in the world. :D

Blake's 7 and Battle Of The Planets with a more than substantial background knowledge in Doctor Who, B7 and Star Trek TOS.

Yes, that must make me a rather large geek.

BLACKHEART

I'm surpised there isn't a wrestling geek.

The comic geek would be hard. There are a lot of comics and they will ask questions about comics you don't read. Like when the comic geek was asked about Blade. I would never read Blade so I'd lose that question too.

I think it's going to be really hard to beat their Star Trek geek. He know's everything. From what I've seen a real Trekie or whatever they are called lives Star Trek. So I don't know how he will lose.

A cartoon geek might not be that hard. Unless they start asking who directs the cartoon.

I'm good with Movies and TV, but I don't know as much as the geeks do about films and shows from long ago.

One time I tuned in during the final geek challenge at the end, which was with a Simpsons geek, and I nailed every question, including the 3-pointers. But there have been other times when the Simpsons geek remembered things I didn't, such as Ned Flanders' grill's name (Propane Elaine).

I know more about movies and tv than most of the people I know, but I'm definitely not at the geeks level. There's a lot I don't know. I would probably be a videogames geek.

Final fantasy Geek, Science geek, or Super mario super show geek.

The Star Trek geek isn't that great, he tries to show off way too much and I think the only reason they picked him up was because he was that kid on Trekkies.

If I was on Beat The Geeks, I would be a Star Wars or Star Trek geek, I major in each one. :D I'm not too keen on questions like for writers, driectors, etc. though. I mostly pay attention to ships, the characters, species, weapons, etc.

I've seen the show a few times, but have never seen one with the Star Trek Geek. It's an all right show. So exactly how many guest geeks are there and what are their "majors"?

I could probably hold my own as a Star Trek, B5, North American Action Animation, or possibly console based RPG geek. *sigh* I have no life.

I know a little bit about a lot of things, but not a lot about any one thing. I'd kick butt as a contestant, but not a geek.

My husband would definately be a wrestling geek. I keep telling him he should try and get on.

The movie geek scares me. He knows way too much about directors and cinematographers.

Now for the question of the day: What's the geekiest thing about you???

I've heard of the show, but never watched it. I meant too, though, and if it's as interesting as it appears to be I WILL tune in. :D

I'd probably be a geek only in history and in the "HISTERIA!" show since they're the only things I study extensively...I'm only a casual fan of all other geekdom things mentioned, though maybe having that broad range still keeps me geeky... ^^;;

I watch occasionally...the geeks do not impress me.

Too many things are geeky about me, but I'd have to say as one my geekiest things would have to be that I actually have dreams about finding new Star Wars toys in stores.

I've only seen this a few times, but it's pretty cool. Better than the subpar SNL reruns they keep airing.

I'd probably be either the Red Dwarf geek or the Jonny Quest geek. Hopefully, I wouldn't be as annoying as the South Park she-geek that was on once. Yeesh!

Simple. I've been one for years and years. I'd be an 'Everything Animated Batman' Geek. It's extremely easy for me. BTAS was so groundbreaking the trivial knowledge just sort of seeped in me.

I'm not too fond of the show, but it's okay. I like trying to answer the questions, but I prefer Win Ben Stein's Money, as old as it may be getting.

But do they really need a Simpsons Geek? Similarly to what I said about BTAS and the show grabs YOU in, instead of you grabbing the show. I answered ALL the Simpsons questions. You don't be just a "casual" fan of The Simpsons in it's prime my friend. Get off the stage!! lol

Hmm, I could almost make it an RD geek. I love the series, I've seen the episodes and I know a reasonable background knowledge - but I've seen some posts from SERIOUS RD geeks and there is no WAY my knowledge - which I consider over expanded - could compare to them or - by the sounds of it - to you either! :D

Now for the question of the day: What's the geekiest thing about you???
I have way to many Batman action figures and other WB merchandise. My girlfriend has more of the expensive cells however. She also put a stop to me buying figures. :( I can't for Talia since that was part of the deal. I can only buy things I don't have. bah

I also color pictures of the animated girls. I do however do this and this message board while I'm being paid. I think it's awesome. I always hated people who could work online. I'm going to get out of this job cause I can't stand being still.

The movie geek:

Yes he does and that is scary in it's own right. I've never watched the credits for a movie in my life. He must study them. I could never say to myself "That was some awesome lighting. I have to see who was in charge of lights."

The Simpson geek:

He know's his stuff and it's funny to watch him think.

The Star Trek geek:

He was on a tv show?

And is Captin Kirk really dead?

The Dork Knight

I'd either be a Looney Tunes geek or a Mick Foley geek.

Possibly in my rather sad attempts to justify errors and plotholes in programmes within a fictional context - To wit; making excuses why in Doctor Who starships would have woobly plywood walls, or why Batman's face keeps changing through the movies (alternate earths - Earth 2?).

It's something that I do privately and have never really admitted to until now - I hope you all feel honoured. ;)

I could be the anime geek, or more specifically, the Trigun geek.

Although, I have to say that while he may lose his medal occasionally, the Movie geek is unbeatable in the final round. I have no idea why people keep trying to beat him.

I could be the comic book geek. I wouldn't be as good with the technical side of it (naming writers, artists...but I'm pretty good), but I can nail comic book trivia.

James

Oh, and another area I have what could be labelled Geek tendancies (although I prefer 'skilled' expertise') is in the realm of Illustrators.

I can name pretty much any UK comic book illustrator from one frame of work (in theory) - not so good with US ones, but is quite a substantial overflow of UK work there which may help even the odds (Bisley, Gibbons, Gibson, Cam Kennedy, Frank Quitely, Dillion, Alan Davis......)

Andy Mancini

Let's see... Personally I think they could use more guest geeks. I figure that if they can have specialized geeks like the "Sopranos", "South Park", and "Friends" geeks, they can have these. I know some are repeats, so I give credit to those who posted them already. Here it is:

Anime Geek
Metal Geek
World's Finest Geek (Batman and Superman)
Marvel Geek
Fantasy Geek
Harry Potter Geek
J.R.R. Tolkien Geek
Wrestling Geek
Beatles Geek
KISS Geek
Dragon Ball Z Geek
Looney Tunes Geek
Seinfeld Geek
Video Game Geek

As far as what geek I would be, I could probably give the music geek a run for their (there seems to be two) money. I'd also be the Tick (as in the comic book) geek, the Jhonen Vasquez geek, Cosby Show geek, or the Tenchi geek.

One more thing: I say they have a special episode to be aired in prime time. This show would feature the three regular geeks playing for charity against four celeberty geeks. My geeks would be:

TV Geek: Matt Roush from TV Guide
Movie Geek: Leonard Maltin
Music Geek: Dick Clark (C'mon! Admit it! You all saw THAT one coming!)
Special Guest Geek: Stan Lee

Granted it would never happen, but still...

Lonestarr

Movie Geek
Film Music Geek
Looney Tunes Geek
Simpsons Geek
Tenchi Geek
Daria Geek (I'm feeling pretty daring)

I don't beleive it. The Star Trek geek just got a question wrong. Did anyone see this? He has his own specail robe. It look's like some advanced Star Fleet deal.

The hardest part about being a geek would be the technical aspect. I don't follow writers and such.

Jedigreedo
03-12-2002, 02:53 PM
It wasn't a "robe." If you watch the movie 'Trekkies' he's on there and they do this giant interview with the exact same person and he shows that uniform, it's a custom uniform he came up with and he showed it off on Trekkies. Not all that interesting uniform, the colored-shoulder uniforms are better.

That episode that was just on, weird episode, the contestants didn't even know the name of the probe from the first ST movie!

I wish I could get on there, I would swamp'em with SW and/or ST trivia! The only problems I would have though is those little technical details they throw in with their answers and stuff and the "taunts" they do.

They taunts sound so fake  I'm pretty sure someone writes those so don't worry about that part.

I think they come up wiith them theirself Penguin. That's why they sound so corny. The music geek had a good one today. "Elvis has left the building, but the badnews for you is I haven't." Something like that. I laughed because it was so corny.

It's still funny that on the day he debuted his little costume he lost his medal.

Well lesse...
First off, yes, I adore that show. It's pretty much the only non-cartoon I watch. ('Sides the occasional "Who's Line is it Anyway?")
As for what geek i'd be...I'm not entirely sure. Definately one of the special guest geeks, since my knowledge is only in specific areas (Some are REALLY too specific.) I could be the Serial Experiments Lain geek (hence the name), I could be the Voice Actors Geek (I know more information about voice actors for 'toons than production staff knows...it's all so sad huh?), The Soul Coughing geek (Bestest band in da world!), possibly The SpongeBob Geek, possibly the Space Ghost geek, probably the 'American Beauty' geek (If you haven't rented that movie, it is in your best interest to run out and do so.) and I could most definately be the Jhonen Vasquez/Roman Dirge geek. I wub them both so very much. But, again, those things are so specific...I'm not sure anyone outside of me and maybe one or two of my friends really cares about that sort of information....^-^() Ah well. My two cents.
As for the geekiest thing about me....well...that list could get pretty long. Like I pretty much said before, I rarely watch anything that isn't animated. I write multitudes of fanfics (even though I don't put most of them on the web). My bedroom is covered in anime cut outs from Animerica Magazine to the point of there being virtually no wall paper. I absolutely love spouting off random pop-trivia quotes or relating things that people have no clue about (Like the other day, my really snotty friend kept saying "Whatever" every time I talked to her. Inspite of the fact that we were more or less fighting, all I could think of was this one episode of a favorite show of mine where the character said "I've got strength, bravery, but most of all, I've got 'the whatever!'")
Lesse if anyone can beat THAT sort of geekiness. -(^-^)/

I have 700+ DVDs, 1200+ music CDs, I am a fan of TV programs, so I feel I could probably hold my own with any of the three geeks on any given day. When I watch the show, most of the answers are pretty obvious to me and really easy, tho they do ask things from time to time that I am not knowlegeable in. Such as the spin off of Everybody Loves Raymond question recently, which I would have totally faltered on myself.

The movie geek is WAY too knowlegeable for me to feel comfortable with taking him on, tho, even with my collection of movies at home. That guy can rattle off names of grips who worked on movies, I swear. I think if I was on the show and had one to challenge, I would challenge the TV geek.

And if I was a geek on the show, I would want to be a DVD geek. Difference between DVD geeks and regular movie geeks, IMO, is that DVD geeks could answer more technical questions about the DVDs and extras and stuff that wouldn't be covered in normal movie or TV geek type questions. I don't know how well I would do, but that would be the one I would probably go with if I were a geek on the show!
