Does your local newspaper comics page get the new daily comic strip "Rip Haywire" which is a satire on adventure comic strips? No Chicago paper has picked up the strip yet.

I don't, DTH, but it's an interesting name at least. Once I had this project at my job of going through all the papers from the 1940s to do a retrospective and I got distracted by all these well-drawn adventure strips about guys flying planes and boxing and getting into dustups and stuff. This seems like a parody of those old days as well as newer action movies. You can tell by the shoddier draftmanship, talking dog and lame jokes. But he seems to have found so zippatone or at least software to replicate it, which is awesome.

I'd have to see more of it to decide if it is a good and worthwhile parody, though. The joke in the first strip is Born Loser level bad and would fit right in with most of the lame crap on the comics page, but I realize that it's also poking fun at the lame one-liners action heroes often spout in the movies.
