as we all know DBZ & GT have been Ramastered & made into season sets...So i was wondering will Funimation ever Release Dragonball Remastered on DVD? Since the OLD DB DVDS our almost impossible to Find..I mean there arn't really that many seasons of DB....
Season 1 Pilaf & World Tournament
Season 2 Red Ribbon Army
Season 3 Fortune Teller Baba & Teinshenhan
Season 4 Demon King Piccalo & Piccalo Jr.
I myself would love to see at least the 1st 2 seasons of DB released in 09 and with only 2 seaons of DBZ & 1 of GT it can't be that long until DB comes out in season sets can it?:p :D

I believe the main reason we still haven't heard anything of a re-release for "Dragonball" has to do with the unfortunate rights issues existing with Trimark.

Huh..Why Does Trimark Have to Get in the Way of my Little Sayin Boy Beats entire Criminal Organization Fun time! (Given He did have some Help From Bulma, Kurrin & Co. & Arale.)
Another thing that Bugs me is that A company Like Trimark was even allowed to Own part of Dragonball in the 1st place...Then again Pionner did have DBZ before Funi did.... :p

Technically, Harmony Gold had it before FUNimation even got their hands on it, unfortunately it suffered the same fate as anything else Carl Macek got his hands on (i.e. Macross and Southern Cross)

I think we will eventually. There's a rumor that Lionsgate's license expires in 2010 for the 1st 13 episodes. We may see a release of season 2 onwards and then FUNI may come back to release these episodes. I really want to see the Curse of the Blood Rubies movie. It's the only piece of Dragon Ball FUNI hasn't dubbed, not counting the OVA and new special.

With FUNimation's criticisms in the past and their good fortune in the past I don't think they'd want to go back to releasing series without doing so in chronological order.

Not quite.
All Trimark (and later, Pioneer) did was distribute the TV series/movies because, at the time, FUNimation was too small a company to do it themselves. Everything else about the production - the script, the music, the voices, the editing - was all done by FUNi.
Trimark, apparently, holds the rights to the first thirteen episode indefinitely. From what I've heard, FUNimation has been trying for years to negotiate some kind of deal with the company (such as offering to give them a cut of the profits), but Trimark won't budge. There really isn't anything FUNi can do.

Which is why they're still releasing the Dragon Ball Z movies out of order?

Trimark are a bunch of idiots, They would rather be little kids about the situation and not make any money instead of giving funimation distribution rights and making some money.
And about releasing the DBZ movies out of order, They also released dragonball movies 2+3+4 in a movie box, but they skipped movie 1.

That's another reason why FUNI didn't release DB movie 1 in that box set becasue Lionsgate owns the rights for it.

Oh but trust me, when 2011 comes around, and if nothing is settled until then, Funimation will throw down A LOT of money to get the rights to all of dragonball.

FUNI should do something quick to get Dragon Ball released, especially the first movie since it hasn't even been dubbed yet.

Yes, but who actually gives a crap about that? All they did was form a Broli triple pack and place seven and nine in one. Movie 12 and 13 fill finish things up and they'll be done.

That's true, I hope that FUNimation will get the rights to distribute the first 13 episodes, but anyway Yeah FUNimation is cranking out those movies fast

Well, I mean they are just re-releases, just with better packaging and a better value.

Those are nicely well done covers, hopefully one day FUNimation can get the rights to those episodes
