Is there something removed from this cartoon? Whenever I see it, it sounds like the ending fanfare fades in rather quickly and is dubbed over Hubie's line "Nothing like a meal cooked in front of a open fire, eh Boit?" It also seems to be implied that Claude saw them from up in the tree (because we zoom in towards the chimney from the treetop.)

I got 3 copies on this cartoon (YTV, ABC and video) and the fanfare on this 3 copies are not dubbed.

We talked about this a couple of months ago. The version CN airs is the same as the one on the 1985 Golden Jubilee tapes, and if there was an edit it apparently was done when the cartoon first came out.

Jones remade the cartoon 15 years later at MGM and put Tom & Jerry into it, with the difference being Tom finds out about the plan and exacts his revenge at the finish. Whether or not an originally-planned ending of "Mouse Wreckers" may have had the same idea in mind for Hubie, Bertie and Claude is unknown.

Every version of "Mouse Wreckers" I've seen --- videotape, ABC, Nickelodeon, and CN --- all end exactly the same way. So, like J. Lee said, that must have been how "Mouse Wreckers" had originally ended.

Well, now that I've seen the cartoon again today, I guess that what had me thinking that something was fishy was the fact that the cartoon didn't have the standard iris out, or even a fade to black, just a cut from the final scene to black to the end card.

I always noted that too, and on pORKY PIG'S SCREWBALL COMEDIES (1985, Warner Home Video, long outta print), it's also that way, too.

"Mouse Wreckers" ends that way on the Columbia House video too.
