TOM's "Stay Gold" Farewell

When I was re-watching TOM's exit from Toonami on YouTube, I noticed he said, "So until then, STAY GOLD." Hmmm... gold. As in the gold King Nood on You Are Here? When I saw it I thought of it as a little homage or foreshadowing from Toonami to You Are Here. Anyone else noticed this?

I thought it was cool how it worked out and all with The King being golden in color. But I honestly don't think it had any real connection.....or did it....

IIRC, TOM was just quoting a poem when he said "Stay Gold".

But I guess if it makes you feel better, then it could also be a sly reference to YAH. But we probably won't know for sure unless we ask whoever wrote the farewell speech.

Yeah I really wouldn't read too much into it, I'm sure CN had the Nood situation and the YAH situation completed and mapped out either before or right around the time that Toonami got the axe....

It was probably a concidence, since the entire farwell speech was full of references to anime that Toonami, [adult swim], and Toonami Jetstream aired at one point or another.

TOM isn't dead mugsy...He's back on Ghost planet enjoying his retirement with Space ghost, brak, & co...Or did you for get It was Moltar who origionally passed the torch to TOM all those years ago...Yep I bet TOM & the Toonami crew are living up their retirment even as we speeak,,,But back on topic..although YAH is good I would'nt say its even in toonamis league...its needs more varity I mean If they added more shows...Like lets say Naruto & TFA..then it could be considered a sergit Toonami..but still i guess its good as is...for now!:p :evil:

I'm going to say coincidence with possible reverse refference.

|The King may be gold because of the speach. That is the YAH bumpers may be a reference to Toonami. I wouldn't put it pass the marketing team to put it in as a suggestion.

However, TOM's speach itself is not about YAH or the King.

Perhaps they Toonami staff did have TOM say that as a prelude for what would come but it being a coincidence seems a lot more likely.

I wouldn't put it past them to put in a Toonami reference if they ever made more Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast. I can just imagine a new episode of Space Ghost where Moltar is bawling his eyes out because Toonami was canceled. Then they could have Steve Blum as a guest. XD
