According to RPGamer, the next Tales Wii will be heading into [no pun intended] :D. Is none other than Tales of 10.
Here's more
At a stage event during this weekend's JUMP Festa, Bandai Namco Games revealed the title of the newest addition to its Tales' franchise. Titled Tales of 10, the new main series installment is in development for Nintendo Wii. The game's existence and its target platform of course had already been known since July. Tales of 10 has already spent close to two years in development. Recording of the characters' voices is already complete. Company representatives would not disclose who is serving as the game's character designer, but the setting has apparently been inspired by medieval Europe. Additional information should be forthcoming in spring. Tales of 10 has yet to receive an official release date in Japan.

I saw the sneak peak trailer and the main character looks a lot like Suzaku from Code Geass. I will be picking this up and I'm glad Namco decided to pick the Wii then the 360 this time around.

Yeah, looks really interesting. Which it seems that we'll be getting another round of that FR-LMBS system and with a medieval European type of city setting.

Tales of 10? Well, I guess it isn't the oddest name I've heard of. The main character's fighting style sort of reminds me of my old favorite wanderer, Kenshin Himura.
But, yeah, I agree. It's nice that they're putting this for the Wii instead of the 360.

From what I read on other sites, "Tales of 10" is only a code name, due to the fact this is the 10th mothership game to be developed by Wolfteam/Tales Studio.
Those games include:
Tales of Phantasia
Tales of Destiny
Tales of Eternia
Tales of Destiny 2
Tales of Symphonia
Tales of Rebirth
Tales of the Abyss
Tales of Vesperia
Tales of Hearts
And now "Tales of 10"

Ah I see.. it's a shame I only played the Symphonia series so far. Once I get and beat Dawn of the World I will probably get Abyss since I keep hearing from angry fan boys that's better then Symphonia or something.

Thanks for the info River! I hope the gap between the Japan & US release is as short as it was with Vesperia.

Yeah, but first they need to have those usual stuff listed first like the Japanese date. Then the U.S eventual localization. Which I hope it happens.

It's alright. Something just felt 'off' the entire game. Seemed to drag at some points. I recently just played Symphonia, Legendia, Abyss and Vesperia all in a row and Vesperia is my new favorite. Badass main character, they keep tricking you into thinking someone will be the final boss when they're not, voiced skits. My only complaint is about Flynn.
Flynn's on the cover, but he's only on the team for one measly battle against random monsters? Come on...
Anyway, if this is like the last few games, I expect:
-Lots of terms I'll forget within seconds.
-Lots of side quests I'll miss on the first play through.
-Lot's of character dialogue that goes like this:
^"Could that be--?"
^"You say something?"
^"No, nothing. Nothing crucial to the plot at all..." *Walks away whistling*
-One of the characters is going to betray the party in some way.
-The obligatory fanservice party member.
-The perverted party member.
-The child party member.
-The one area of the game which looks nothing like the rest because this particular place has alien-like technology, and roads and floating letters and symbols all made of light.
...I welcome this new installment with open arms.:p:D

Will it bring back world maps? I've only played a few hours of Dawn of the New World, and I miss my world maps. :(

Rumor has it (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171905)that there are six games in the works for every single platform out there( including PS2). All to be released in 2009.

It should. I'd like to think the success of the Symphonia games was enough to show Namco that they have themselves a solid Tales fanbase on a Nintendo system.

Six..so lets see...not the Gamecube because it's dead so that leaves with
Wii:Tales of 10
PSP
Ps2
Xbox360
DS
Ps3
Ah that does sound likely if you think about it, and it would be cool to see another ps2 Tales again.

Well, I think they would. I mean, this is a main stream title afterall.

It was said a few times that ToS 2 lacked a world map due to time constraints.
From what I hear, it's almost like FFX-2 in its re-use of ToS maps, which I hope is exaggerated.. FFX-2 had like.. maybe 4 new dungeons and the rest of the maps were directly ripped from the last game..

Namco seems to think of it as a spinoff.

Oh, yeah. I forgot.
I hope they give Go Shiina another shot at composing a soundtrack. Legendia wasn't that great of a game, but the music was beautiful and Motoi Sakuraba always seems to repeat the same styles over and over. A town theme in one game will sound exactly like a town theme in another, a forest theme will sound like another game's forest theme, etc.
What's the battling like in Dawn of the New World, anyway? Can you free-run around the entire battlefield like you can in Abyss and Vesperia?

Agreed. Though I hear Sakuraba almost literally does 4 discs worth of soundtrack every 2 - 4 weeks.
Yeah, Dawn of the New World plays similarly like them.

I have not played Dawn of the New world guys but from what I heard it does indeed recycle areas and such, of course it's to be expected as more of a "upgrade" then a completely new game. Some people in reviews even called it a expansion pack, I'm still getting it either way though.
As for Vesperia I would love to play it so much if it was not for the fact that I can't really get a 360 since I don't much interest in the games on there and I already want quite a few things for Christmas.

Well, ya gotta give the man credit. The music isn't bad, I actually like it a lot, but each soundtrack sounds the same. But with a schedule like that, I guess I can't really blame him.
Glad to hear the fighting's similar. Symphonia was relatively easy, but I sucked at comboing and the other technical battle stuff and it wasn't until Vesperia where I really nailed down the combos and mystic artes.
What else is coming up? Tales of Hearts just came out in Japan but it really doesn't seem like we'll ever get the DS titles and I guess they'd probably release that Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 since the first one came out here too.

I think Hearts has a shot if it's really considered a "core" title. I notice that Tempest and Innocence aren't on that list, but Hearts is. So... maybe there's hope.

As I said, the list of titles are Mothership titles developed by Namco Tales Studio. Only two mothership games do not fall in that list, due to being developed by different teams: Legendia on the PS2(which was brought over) and Innocence on the DS. And Tempest isn't on the list because it's considered an Escort title, much less being developed by Dimps.
It's still up to Namco to bring over these games. They still didn't bring over Destiny 2 and Rebirth on the PS2. Who know how they think?

Ther eis a really stupid and pathetic reason why Destiny 2 and Rebirth were not brought here, because Sony of America refuses to sell games with 2D graphics on PS2 for more than $20.
There's still no excuse why rebirth on the PSP hasn`t been released though.
