View Full Version : Do you think CN would do better if they aired new segments?
Nick for the past few years has aired new episodes of there Nicktoons in segments and it has helped the ratings. I always wonder could CN get ratings like this I know it would make them have to do like nick and say 21 minutes is a special but I think it could help. They could air it a 5:00 on Afterschool throwdownThey could still air new YAH on Fridays with this and 6teen could still be there too.
I would like it if they did
Mon-1 new segment
Tues-1 new segment
Wens-1 new segment
Thurs-2 new segments
Fri-1 new segment
So what do you guys think?

I'm not sure I'm following you. Are you saying that CN should - instead of airing full new half hours of certain shows - instead only air them one segment at a time like Nick does with Spongebob?
If that's what you mean then my answer is no. It drives me nuts when Nick does that.

I know. The action shows don't air in 12 minute segments, do they?

Didn't Cartoon Network already try something like that years ago, with the Cartoon-Cartoon Top 5 and the Pick of the Day?

You mean air comedy premieres as one 11-min segment a day!? Heck no!

He meant with premieres, like how Nick did things in the summer.
I would have to say ewww, no. I always feel ripped off and angry when Nick does that stuff. It just screams of ratings desperation to me.

Cartoon Network did try that a couple of times. CN once aired an 11 minute Flapjack short before the series officially premiered.

It's not a very good idea, I personally would prefer to watch the shows in their full forms.

OK, then,
That might be something that CN could try during the summer, when everything else is in reruns, but the rest of the year? Nah.

CN has been doing this with Chowder and Flapjack recently. For Chowder they gave us The Arborians before season 2 officially premiered and CN has done it twice with Flapjack a few weeks ago. I really don't like when they do this...

CN is fine as it is and getting better and better as it goes, no need to screw with the formula. The segment idea just doesent work, I hate Nick and of CN fell down to Nick's level of stop watching it too...

In CN's defense, they've been cutting down on the Test airings a bit, if only slightly.
As for the oldies, we're getting a Looney Tunes marathon. Better than nothing.

There are numerous CN Ratings Threads you can check for the exact numbers, but think about it: CN wouldn't run a show so much if its' ratings were tanking, now, would they?

Yes but it is hard to find what I am looking for. Plus they usually say Boys 2-6 and then Boy 6-11 I just want to know the whole number of viewers really.
