Okay, why not. "Sheep in the Big City," one of the less successful Cartoon Network show about, well, a sheep in the big city.

I'll admit there's some charm into it. I'm a fan of Jay Ward's output and the whole show was essentially a tribute to "Bullwinkle," complete with oddball character designs, corny puns, characters constantly breaking the fourth wall, and cliff hangers.

It was noticeably more "sophisticated" than many other CN shows and stood out. Unfortunately that may have led to its quick death.

I wish it's on CN Video.

I loved “Sheep In The Big City”. I didn’t fully appreciate its humor when I was younger, but in hindsight, it was one of the most clever animated programs on Cartoon Network. :general: :sheep:

Well I guess they didn't like the program so much or it was not making the money.

I love this show. I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get it off iTunes, to experience most of it for the first time, and wow... I was impressed. The show's so sophisticated and hilarious, I still watch it all the time.

Why they took it off iTunes is a mystery, it was in the best seller list constantly. Maybe they lost the rights to it? That would explain why the show isn't listed on the website.

Anyways, this show NEEDS a DVD release. By whoever, it doesn't matter, just as long as we get it! I feel it'd do well for the same reasons Freakazoid did; it's a popular thing around the internet, so more and more people are finding out and getting curious about it.

Anyways, this show is amazing and needs a DVD release.

NOW.

EDIT: If anybody knows, do the events of season 2 really follow from "To sheep, perchance to dream"?

It was a CN original, they own Sheep completely.

Not completely, it was made at/by Curious Pictures.

If I or Curious Pictures had any control over the series, you’d be able to get your Ranting Swede right now, but unfortunately Cartoon Network controls Sheep in the Big City, so if you’d love to see Sheep on DVD, drop a line to the folks Cartoon Network in Atlanta.

Nevermind.

I have not Sheep in the big city for a long time. I used to watch it as a kid and enjoyed the show. I wonder why Cartoon Network seems to have gotten rid of it completely.

Sheep in the Big City was very charming and very unique. It had a very classy and very "grown up" feel to it. Maybe it was because it revolved around a rural sheep entering the modern media-centered cappuccino-sipping art museum-going metropolis that is the "Big City". I live near New York and I can tell you I do get that nice feel every time I go there. Anyways, I have to say that the animation for this show wasn't the best, but the humor more than made up for it. I remember even my mom was laughing one day when we were watching Cartoon Cartoon Fridays (ah the good old days) during Sheep and that one "The Flying Sombrero Brothers" skit came on when they were in the plane.

Sheep in the Big City was one of the most cleverly-written Cartoon Network shows. Cartoon writers could learn a lot from those guys.

OMG, my childhood! :D I loved Sheep in the Big City; I'm like, "What is up with all these characters?" I agree that it needs a DVD release.

I wonder why they have Mike,Lu,and Og on Cartoon Network Video but not Sheep in the big city. I thought Sheep was more popular.

Yes but I dont think mike,lu, and og was on CCF no more than 5 times. But your right both shows were failures in ratings.

It was alright. I like the one where he had that bike that was a time machine (or something).

Anyone know where I can watch Sheep? I totally missed out because I'd given up on CN at the time.

iTunes used to have it, but CN removed it. Unless they put it up on CN Video, tough luck finding Sheep legally.

I believe the pilot episode of Sheep is included in one of the early Powerpuff Girls DVDs as a bonus feature.

What's interesting about the pilot is that it was animated inhouse at Curious Pictures. Every other episodes were done using the usual outsourcing system (except the "Ranting Swede" sequence, which was always animated in New York)

Yeah, it's on Powerpuff Bluff.

You can find it for a couple bucks on ebay or Amazon Marketplace.
