Looks like premieres on ASV are happening after premieres on television. I guess this boosts ratings or something. (http://boards.adultswim.com/adultswim/board/message?board.id=video&thread.id=988&jump=true)

This Week:

Monday: The Robot Chicken premiere, 5 additional episodes of Robot Chicken, 5 episodes of Venture Bros., 3 episodes of Family Guy and 10 episodes of Xavier.
Tuesday: The Drinky Crow premiere, 5 episodes of Metalocalypse, 5 episodes of ATHF, and 10 episodes of Squidbillies.
Wednesday: The Code Geass premiere, 2 eps. of Death Note, 2 eps. of Fullmetal Alchemist, 2 eps. of GitS, 13 eps. of The Big O [Season 2], and 1 ep. of Boondocks.
Thursday: The Moral Orel premiere, 10 eps. of Frisky Dingo, 10 eps. of Harvey Birdman, 1 ep. of Darkplace
Friday: 10 eps. of The Brak Show, the Venture Christmas Special, and 11 Christmas-themed episodes of various shows.

Wonder if Toonami Jetstream will get a similar rescheduling soon.

Probably not. ASV and Jetstream are run by WS and CN respectively.

And while I'm not too jazzed about the lack of Friday premieres, the amount of episodes added, and the fact that the Orel finale is up a day earlier more than makes up for it.

I can see why they did this, but grr. There goes my Friday night Adult Swim-a-thon. It'll be an adjustment to move it all to different days of the week.

Nice that they're archiving their shows. I might actually start watching [as] again. Shame that we can't bump up this talkbacks in the forum, though.

Maybe post discussion in the Anything Else thread?

Yeah, but you can't quote any posts from the original talkback thread and no one really replies to actual episode discussion in the Anything Else thread.

How about an Ongoing Adult Swim Video Talkback thread?

Question, why does Adult Swim Video have Code Geass R2 and yet not Bleach?

I don't think its in their contract to run Bleach online.

Why don't they have in their contract the right to run Bleach online?

It may something to do with Hulu having Bleach episodes already.

Hulu has english dubbed episodes of Bleach? Seriously?

Well no... they have subs.

Adult Swim never obtained the online rights to Bleach just as they never did with Inuyasha. I'd chock that up to them both being Viz shows but Death Note was on ASV so it wouldn't be that I suppose.

Didn't they show the Inuyasha movies once?

Cause I'm not their lawyer. They should hire me.

Ummmm...well, I do need a job, but I'm only licensed to practice law in Illinois right now, so if I worked at William's Street I would have to take the Georgia bar. I would be more than willing to take the Georgia bar if it meant getting a job, though. But, I seriously doubt William's Street is looking to get a new lawyer just because their old ones failed to put streaming rights to Bleach into the contract.

I'm absolutely surprised no one noticed it, but...

http://www.adultswim.com/schedule/video/index.html

Look at December 31st's video uploads. Look SPECIFICALLY at the Astro Boy episodes.

Those episode titles are not from the 60's series....THEY'RE FROM THE 2K3 SERIES.

Not that I'm complaining or anything, but just WOW. Adult Swim has the rights to Astro Boy 2K3? This gives me hope they can get Cyborg 009 from Sony as well.

 I never noticed that.

Does that make Astroboy 2003 AS's first Fix-exclusive series?

This is a "WTF" on a high scale. I guess Lazzo's love for Astro Boy extends to the 2K3 series as well.

Yeah, if they're picking THAT up, I'd love it if they showed uncut Cyborg 009 (or, for that matter, 009-1 XD). That show never aired its final episode, if I remember right.

And no, Astro Boy 2K3 wouldn't be the first Fix-exclusive series. Perfect Hair Forever became that during its 2nd and final season.

I'm not counting the AS webisodes, mainly because only three were ever produced and they were extensions of already existing series.

Oh, okay. Yeah, then, I think Astro here will be the first.

Not that I'm surprised. AS probably picked the web rights for the kicks, I bet they didn't even go after the TV rights.

Update: false alarm.

According to a WS employee at the ASMB, it was a labeling mistake, and that the classic series will be airing instead of the 2003 version.

Ah, yeah, I figured it was a labeling mistake. Astro Boy 2K3 doesn't exactly fit Adult Swim.

But awesome! Now I can watch the 60's series to lead up to the new movie next year. :D

Yeah, that's a real downer. I was hoping that they still had the contract with Sony, which may have lead to me seeing Cyborg 009 again. Alas, it isn't so.

Yeah, Astro Boy 2K3 on ASV in itself wouldn't have been all that important of news. Sony has all the episodes of that up on Hulu already.

But the fact that this means Cyborg 009 is out of the question is disappointing.

Sony has Astro Boy on Hulu, but NOT Cyborg 009? This is a grave injustice that must be rectified.
