The layoffs in Dilbert were more optimistic than this.

One particular casualty is Nick Digital Animation Studios (http://www.cartoonbrew.com/business/nickelodeons-christmas-gift-to-nyc-animators#comments). These people work on Dora the Explorer and Backyardigans and now they're getting their walking papers.

Wow, 7% doesn't seem like much, but considering 850 people just lost their jobs, and just as the holidays, the most stressful time of the year, comes up, that's very depressing news to hear.
So are those Nick jr. shows as good as cancelled or will they be outsourced?

Wow. That's a lot of people to lay off. They would already be stressed enough with just losing their jobs but with it being the holiday season, that makes things harder on them. It's even worse with how the economy is doing right about now. That's such a shame. I hope that they'll be able to make it through for their families, if they have any, and themselves during this hard time.

Actually, that's the only casualty. The layoff is actually a shutdown of their studio in New York.
Being an animator can be tough.

Some local TV stations where I live just laid off quite a few people, too. Sad, so sad.

Layoffs will continue if SAG goes on strike.
