Apparently, one-shot cartoons are all that the Acme Hour ever shows. I remember last summer I saw an episode of Acme Hour that had Lumberjack Rabbit.

**screams** Everytime High Note airs on Cartoon network, I miss it. I am bound and determined not to miss this airing ^___^

Acme Hour used to show character cartoons, so long ago...

Why did CN stop showing cartoons with recurring characters on Acme Hour anyway?

It's been all or nothing on the Acme Hour over the past few years. For a while they were showing virtually nothing but character cartoons on it, with a handful of Averys and some post-48 WB one-shots tossed in. There was one Acme Hour I remember that had three Tom and Jerry cartoons, which IMHO was worse than the current situation, because you can always watch three T&Js each night on their own show, while the one-shots have noplace else to go but the Acme Hour.

Go back to the old board and look at the posts from about two-to-2 1/2 years ago, and you'll find the threads complaining that the one-shots were not being shown. Someday, maybe CN will be able to find a compromse (though the way things have gone of late, they'll probably solve the problem by junking The Acme Hour completely in favor of a two hour block of The New Scooby Doo Movies or something else just as unwanted).

I liked the idea of chronological order shows, the cartoons end up being more spaced apart that way, anyways. Too bad they don't have all the LTs and MMs so they could do it right. Maybe they should try something like that for the Acme Hour, perhaps with MGM cartoons, then WB cartoons.

Has anyone else noticed that most of the Bugs and Daffy shows have a pattern of either being all 50s and 60s cartoons, or all 50s and 60s cartoons with maybe one 40s cartoon and one colorized Porky Pig cartoon thrown in?

Same here. It's usually several 50-60s cartoons with one 1940s cartoon thrown in. Of course, when something unusual happens every now and again. Like when The 'Coo-Coo Nut Grove' suddenly popped up at 8.50am GMT!

I always wondered why Acme Hour didn't become a part of that. It sounds like a good idea. That way I wouldn't mind the excessive one-shots anymore.

Even if they had access to every Looney Tune and Merrie Melody, who really thinks all of them would air?
