From Beck's decription we may have some hope of good things... Now if they would just restart the theatrical shorts unit (again!!)

DUCK DODGERS looks real good. I've seen more than I can report, but this is in very smart hands.
Also, Warners has started a new shorts unit. I'll reveal more on my website when I can, but supposedly they are trying to get a new "Looney Tune" attached to the next Harry Potter movie.

Hey Jerry - you mind if I post the Duck Dodgers info on the TZ News Board?

The more I hear of this, the more I like it. Wow, someone actually cares about the classics and wants them to continue. This will be big news, if yet another revival of the shorts/classics division is in the works. Spike Brandt....where have I heard that name before? And Dini is always a good choice...I'd be interested to see how he handles Daffy in a series.

Now then, if there is a shorts division now, may they take my suggestion: give those guys in the DC Looney Tunes comics a writer's job. Make them directors. Let their styles develop into something new and different. Particularly David Alvarez and Dan Slott...there are some particularly funny Road Runner stories those two guys have drawn as writer and penciller.

I believe he directed "Little Go Beep".

The show sounds great! I can't wait to see it! And that design of Daffy makes the designs look promising... :D

Yep, he did direct it, he also worked on Carrotblanca. Tony Cervone is also aquainted with Looney Tunes, he worked on Little Go Beep too, and some WBA shows like Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. (BTW, I don't know any of this off the top of my head, I looked it up at the IMDb)

If Paul Dini is on board, then this will be a great series!

I'm very glad to hear Spike Brandt is on board for this series. In addition to his recent Looney Tunes work, he directed a wonderful half-hour Bloom County Christmas special almost a decade ago called "A Wish For Wings That Work."

Now if only they can keep Frank Gorshin far away from Daffy, this could be a hit. :)

Just them calling Marvin by his proper name, Cammander X-2, is a good omen, I think. The design is also neat, not like the original cartoon, just more updated, I guess. I'd be more interested in seeing the designs for the Martian Queen (I'm guessing she looks like Marvin to an extent...), space vehicles, and backgrounds, though.

Commander X-2, I guess, if his title, Marvin's his name. Just a hunch.

Actually, I think the "Commander X-2" name is a misunderstanding that's been repeated so often that many now believe it.
Lemme explain...
I seem to recall that in "The Hasty Hare", the orders were addresses to "Commander, flying saucer X-2". That makes me think that the spaceship is named X-2, not the commander. That would mean that calling him "Commander X-2" is kinda like calling Capt'n Kirk "Captain Enterprise". :)
Maybe the confusion is caused partly because his sidekick is "K-9" so it seems logical that maybe Martian names follow that pattern and the commander is "X-2". Anyway, I think he's a nameless "Commander" in this cartoon... but you are welcome to try to convince me otherwise ;)

You're probably right, I'll have to go find my copy of the "The Hasty Hare" and check it.
