Here I thought I was the only one not crazy about Chowder...

Eww, hope it's not as bad as you say it is. Of course, it all boils down to opinion.

It seems a little unlike Chowder to have its own Christmas episode. And I'm pretty sure Panini will have her fair share of mistletoe under Chowder's head.

Sounds like Maxie Zeus is not a Chowder fan to begin with.

Well he did say he never watched the show before.

I'll take a look anyway, but only because I'm a faithful viewer of Chowder and have watched all the episodes that aired so far.

I'll still check it out and see for myself.

Chowder is not for everyone so it may still please Chowder fans.

I am not a Chowder fan but alot of episodes don't please me.:( I hope this one turns out different though because it's a Christmas episode and I like to watch Christmas theme shows.

Why should he have to be one to have an opinion of what he sees?

I'm sure I'll like it. I love Chowder, and this won't stop me.

That's just Maxie Zeus's opinion. For all I know, it could become my favorite episode of Chowder ever.

The six-minute preview was fine, ergo I believe that the entire episode will be fine. This review doesn’t change my thoughts at all.

It won't change mine, either. Unless the episode really IS awful.

Normally I'd get annoyed with the negative review for Chowder, but ever since that Underfist review a while back, I've been keeping a point system for the reviewers. I read reviews for things I've already seen, and give or take a point depending on how much I agree wtih what they said. That way, I have an idea of how much I'll agree with their thoughts.

Maxie's at +3, so I should probably lower my expectations going into the episode.

This was a tough one for me to review. I can only report what I felt as I watched it, but I was deeply conscious of the fact that I've never watched the series before--and that people whose opinions I respect like Chowder a lot. So I tried approaching it as a "Christmas special" rather than specifically as a Chowder special.

That is almost certainly too harsh a standard to use, but it's the only one I had at hand, and it's why I tried softening the notice at the end by saying that, as a Chowder special, it might be perfectly fine. That being said, it didn't leave me desperate to search out additional episodes.

While there would have been obvious benefits if you would have seen the series beforehand, your unique perspective actually works as a contrast to the opinion of the creator. In his Blog, he mentioned that he tried to make a classic holiday story and he believes that he succeeded in that task, but as you’ve explained in your review, you didn’t see anything that would make it worthy of such a designation. That’s important. I may not agree with you, but as a neutral observer, you watched the episode as it was meant to be watched, as a holiday special. It was not harsh.

…I’m very proud of how it turned out and I hope everyone out there enjoys it. I think we’ve made a good, classic holiday story with a weird Chowder twist…

There are things about Chowder that do bug me, and it's mainly the humor, which seems based more on outrageous behavior rather than on personality. Thus, I'm not a raging fan of the show. I'll probably watch this special, but only because...you know...it's Christmas! :p

I would recommend seeing an episode or two to get a better feel of the series, but I respect your opinion. A review is someone's opinion, and if people disagree with that opinion, there's nothing stopping them from disagreeing and watching the show.

Well, I enjoyed the preview, so we'll see how it is. I don't think it'll disappoint me though.
