Well, another super-cool, dazzling, heckling, perfecto-mundo, humungeroid, June Bugs just went by (i'm sorry to say). And there have been threads wondering how they can top next year's June Bugs. Some did say they could show

I believe Nickelodeon were the previous people who aired The Bugs Bunny show. There is no way of contacting Nick via e-mail (i'm also sorry to say), but there is regular mail. Their address is available on Nickelodeon magazines. Buy one! Write to them! Tell them how we feel! Then we'll have a chat with Cartoon Network.
Gotta blast!
(did i just say that?)

That's not such a bad idea. I would really like to see The Bugs Bunny Show on TV LAND, along with some of my other favorite classic shows, including The Honeymooners and Leave it to Beaver. :D

Old TV shows are a disgrace to classic WB cartoons. They should be lost forever. All the ABC premieres made this year's show the best it could be. The closest they could come next year is to show EVERY BUGS BUNNY CARTOON EVER MADE and even that wouldn't top this year's June Bugs.

Why are the old shows so awful? Cartoons are meant to be taken individually. Combining cartoons from different years ruins the cartoons.

For June Bugs 2001, CN tried the stunt, but were caught. If CN tried it again, the WB would have their spleens. They almost did this year.

Even if they aren't that good, I'd still like to see them (to judge for myself) I've heard awful stuff about other things too, like the Groovie Ghoulies, but I'd still jump to see it the first chance I got, just to see just how awful it is.

I heard the Bugs Bunny Show was actually pretty good though.

It would be nice to see CN air all 52 episodes of the original "Bugs Bunny Show" on Sunday nights, though some of the episodes would have problems due to the censorship of certain cartoons since then. And it would be fun to actually see the 30-minute version of "Devils Feud Cake" with the original soundtrack and Franklin/Stalling score, instead of the cut-and-paste job WB released in 1963.

As for the "Groovie Ghoulies" it really should be shown -- once at about 4 a.m., and probably on April Fool's Day -- just to give people under the age of 35 a chance to see the most gawdawful use of Warner Bros. characters in history.

Aren't you being a little harsh?

Nothing should be lost intentionally. I think CN should show BB Show footage inbetween cartoons since it's in B&W. 100% Bugs cartoons...plus commercials and Jasper Goes Hunting and A Pollitical Cartoon.

A great BB marathon should feature EVERY bit of video and film that the wabbit has appeared in. They could throw in the movies Bugs was in, Space Jam, even those bumpers from Gremlins II.

Yes, even Groovie Goolies.

To make it simple, the only way to top this year's June Bugs is to give the cartoon fans what they really want...the Censored Dozen back! In addition, they should also put back the parts that were cut out of the other BB cartoons! That's the only way it can be done.

As far as I am concerned, it was nice to finally see some cartoons from BB that were not aired on CN previously. But that was the only thing good about the marathon. It's obvious that WB does not care about the people...they care about themselves so that they don't get sued by these "make up your own name" groups. They are telling us what we can and can not watch...the only way to stop this is to recognize there is too much ignorance and not enough intelligence!!

Yes, even Groovie Goolies.

Bugs wasn't in Groovie Goolies.

Also, the Bugs Show footage was originally produced in color. I disagree that this stuff is a "disgrace" that should be destroyed. This is seldom seen work with the LT stars done by McKimson, Jones, and Freleng! Why would anyone want to see THAT destroyed?

I don't care for the idea of just showing the BB Show footage between random cartoons. Unlike shows like Bullwinkle, Huckleberry Hound or Quick Draw McGraw... the bumpers on the Bugs Show usually had a continuing storyline running between the three cartoons introduced by our cartoon host(s) of the evening (Rocky and Mugsy hijack the show, a dopey dog mistakes Daffy-in-a-rabbit-suit for Bugs, etc). Other shows had themes. For example, Bugs would give a lecture on dogs or how to animate and then show a cartoon relating to what he just said.

Perhaps, CN could track down and restore the the more Bugs related episodes (there were episodes hosted by the other major players: Tweety & Sylvester, Speedy, Yosemite Sam, Pepe, Daffy, Foggy, Gophers, etc.). Perhaps to please some, show the cartoons with their full opening / closing titles.

While I agree that some of TV specials can be a bit lame. The Bugs Bunny Show is *not*.

I still think The Bugs Bunny Show should be shown on TV LAND. This is the best place they could put it! If they can get the rights to TBBS, they could also play the Tang, Post, and Kool-Aid ads as part of those Retro-Commercials. Who else likes that idea? What better place to put a comedy TV show from the 1960's?
