I just noticed that GX dub stopped at 155, when there are more episodes 156-up. I figured it would have least kept airing dubbed in other countries and 4kidstv skipped to Yugioh 5D. So no GX 156-up in english?

Unfortunately, your assumption is correct. 4Kids did stop dubbing Yu-Gi-Oh! GX at episode 155, and they did then switch their focus to dubbing Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.

And as far as I know, no one has any idea at all if 4Kids will ever go back to Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and dub episodes 156-180 (Episode 156 is the last episode of Season 3 and episode 180 is the last episode of Season 4, which is the LAST season of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX).

I have both opinions on this.

First I say good riddance because then people don't have to suffer through the crappiness that is the ending to the (terrible) series. Yet, on the other hand, I find it messed up that they made everyone suffer throuogh 155 episodes, and then suddenly decide not to finish it when there are only 25 episodes left.

So basically I have another excuse NOT to watch Yu-Gi-Oh GX.

Dude, you're not missing much. The less you have to see of it, the better.

I guess it was to cash in on the fact of 5D starting and wanting to move onto newer stuff. There may be a chance of the last episodes getting dubbed if they go back and do a "Lost Episodes" set of the final GX episodes saying "The Conclusion of Duelist Academy is finally here" or something like that. Sort of like how FUNi did lost episodes of GT except this time it's the end that needs to be shown, not the beginning.

Agreed. Season 4 was so mind-screwey it was basically "If Gainax developed a season of YGO"

You know what that means, "Neon Duelist Evengeli-Oh...GX"

I don't even think 4Kids would be able to tone it down that much. (I'm speaking sarcastically but seriously, it was pretty bad)

You know, almost everyone who has seen the Japanese version has commented on the ending has said the same thing. Yet, I'd still like to see the last season of the series. Sure, GX didn't have a good start, but I love season two and three and I would like to see season three end and the series end in the dub. It had a terrible start, overall, but I don't think GX was a terrible series. Definitely had flaws and it could have handled more of its characters in a better fashion, but it wasn't that bad to me. Besides, I somehow can't believe that the ending would be that bad. I liked the ending to Digimon Adventure 02, even though most Digimon fans absolutely hated it, so I'm willing to try out GX's ending.

I can understand why 4Kids would like to focus on 5Ds at the moment, but I'm still hoping that they will eventually dub the rest of GX. I could easily see them airing those episodes as special lost episodes/season, similar to what they did with the fifth season of TMNT. I have heard that they're going to dub it after they're finished with the first season of 5Ds though. Of course, that's just what I've heard so its only a rumor. I'd still love for it to be true, but without a official reply from 4Kids, I'll have to take it with a grain of salt.

Or as a better comparison, TMNT's "lost season" (which was technically the end of the original format of the series).

Probably depends on how long 5D's is. If 5D's winds up only 52 or 78 episodes then they'd probably dub Season 4 of GX after that to keep Yu-Gi-Oh running on the air, but if 5D's goes on too long then they really have no reason to go back and dub GX years later.

I don't see 5D's being a very long series, like I can see it ending after episode 52, but hey that's just me.

Considering that Konami wants to promote the card game, they'll probably keep let 5Ds continue for as long as possible. Or at least set up another Yu-Gi-Oh! series after 5Ds ends. Maybe its because of that promotion of the card game that makes me think that they won't end 5Ds after 52 episodes, but I don't watch the Japanese version so I wouldn't really know much of the story line at this point in the original version.

I still think that they could dub season four even with 5Ds continuing. They did air the last season of DM and the first season of GX during the same season, but on different channels. They could go that route for season four of GX by putting it on CN, if possible. Or they could give 5Ds a break after the first season to air the season if they don't want two Yu-Gi-Oh! series on the same block. Maybe even putting it up on their website. I'm not sure which one of these possibilities are more likely to happen, but those are just my hopeful guesses as to what they plan to do with the rest of GX. The email from 4Kids never said that they wouldn't ever dub it, just not for this season apparently.

I kinda like the ending but I heard the didn't do as much episodes in Japan as they wanted because they wanted to get to 5d. I don't if 4kids could have toned it down well enough. Season 4 is alittle darker. But episode 156 would have been more of a ending instead of 4kids trying to make 155 more of a ending by having Syrus say some cheap line " He is in the Stars" 155 was more of a finale with everyone having flashbacks of Jaden.

But it could come back with 4kids dubbing the Yugi vs Jaden duel.

I don't care if they wanted to start promoting 5D's. Just dropping GX, a series that had run for over 150 episodes and had very few left, like a hot potato just isn't cool. Some people may have wanted to see how it ended. :\

You know what that means, "Neon Duelist Evengeli-Oh...GX"

Eh, I would not let that duel think you got the whole ending ruined for ya. Really that duel is just something random to fill the ending up a bit.

Yeah, I last saw the Jaden of Darkness episode with his friends trying to win him back to no avail. It was just like when Joey Wheeler from the first season was taken over, which was better in my opinion.

Really? Phew. That reminds me, I need to marathon episodes 97-155 of the english dub now.

I said it before and I'll say it again: leaving it off as though Jaden really is "among the stars" is a pretty messed-up way to leave things. It likely wasn't intentional, and there are endings that pull off the hero actually sacrificing him/herself. But this was way too quick to qualify as an acceptable ending, and whatever the reason, it basically equates to 4kids telling all the unenlightened viewers, young and old alike, "Our hero's gone... Ah well, on to the next one!" Again, seriously messed up.

Yeah, I never liked how they made it look like Jaden had basically died, especially with Syrus, my favorite character, crying in the end. Even if I didn't know about season four, that wouldn't have made a good ending to the series, let alone the season since there were too many questions left unanswered. I'm still hoping that they'll go back and dub the rest of the series. It seems pretty sad to just go through 155 episodes and not finish the series when there's only twenty five left. One reason why I think that 4Kids will eventually finish the series is because if they really weren't going to, then an email that many people have gotten from them would have flat out said that they weren't. From what I can tell, the emails just said that they had no plans to dub it for this seasons and that it didn't mean that they would never dub it.

I hate that the 4th season isn't happening and now that 5Ds japan started a new seris and they stop producing the new seris and also maybe the are going to do a anaversity when the last episode was out for yugioh Gx and let us watch it like it's an anaversity present to the united states

1. Welcome to Toon Zone.
2. You bumped up a 3 year old thread. We frown upon that here unless you have some important update.
3. You need to learn how to spell better. I really have no idea what you're saying.
