Survivor Series (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=220421) did not see any straight ECW action, but did have Superstars compete in the elimination matches (although non of them survived). Expect to see some fall-out from those matches as well as more action, tonight on ECW.

EXTREME BRAWL
Mark Henry will look to redeem his Survivor Series loss against Finlay as the World's Strongest Man and the Belfast Brawler face off on ECW.

DREAMER'S TURN
On ECW, Tommy Dreamer will face Jack Swagger in a rematch of their Amateur Wrestling Challenge. This time, it will be on the ECW Original's terms: Extreme Rules.

That extreme rules match was fantastic. I really reminded me of the old ECW, in how the weapons weren't just used to have weapons, but they were actually part of the match and were used to further the story in the ring (the trashcan being used repeatedly even though it was destroyed instead of getting a new one, the beat-up chair then being used as a submission tool). My only real complaint was Tommy trying to get out of the hold by reaching the bottom rope, which doesn't do anything in an extreme rules match.

I really hope Swagger keeps up his game, because he's quickly becoming the new Punk/Bourne of ECW (the show highlight).

You're saying that the old ecw didn't use weapons for the sake of weapons. Did you watch ECW? There were some guys who knew how to do hardcore with psychology but the vast majority of guys didn't. There was blood in most matches on the same card. That's not psychology.

I'm not saying they all did. There were quite a few wrestlers that used weapons just to use them. As with any promotion, not 100% of it was perfect. But the WWE has a very strong tendency to just make Hardcore matches be "throw a bunch of crap in the ring and hit people with them."

For every New Jack there was a Pitbulls, or Sabu, or Raven who, while relying on weapons, actually made it a part of the match. Something you don't often see anymore, which is why the match last night was so good.

I also enjoyed the Swagger-Dreamer match. It was a lot better than some matches which have weapons only for the sake of having weapons. I'm starting to warm up to Swagger, but I still think his name is stupid.

Morrison & Miz were money as they always are! Morrison's "...months and months of video packages" comment about Cena's return was perfect. They entertained and then they knew when to get out of there! The Boogeyman didn't get them (he did get some dental work done though).

Jack Swagger is jumping ahead himself as well as over some other guys ifhe thinks finishing a feud with Tommy Dreamer qualifies him to challenge Matt Hardy. Get in line, kid.

Finlay shouldn't leave Hornswoggle alone, not only can he not reach the leftover Halloween candy by himself, but Mark Henry isn't the guy you want helping him.

I continue to be impressed by DJ Gabriel in the ring and I was glad he got some promo time this week, but I still think this gimmick is too goofy. It's on Gabriel I guess to make it work and I haven't fully decided yet if he can.

I was rather happy when Henry took Finlay's shillelagh and threw it away from the ring, unfortunately that didn't last. The match was officially a no contest, so I expect more to come from these two. I know it's thick, but maybe Henry can snap that shillelagh in half!

If he can bend a frying pan, he could break that stupid stick no problem:p

The vast majority of guys in ecw didn't have psychology. Raven may be an exception, but i wouldn't consider the same with sabu. sabu was innovative, but i was never really a fan of his work. He and RVD hit each other too many times with chairs in their matches.

There's no way Sabu was the next coming of Ric Flair or anything. Even I won't admit to that. But Sabu knew what he could do, and worked from there. As far as using weapons in creative ways instead of just "Smash the guy in the head," he was great at it.

That's partially what I enjoyed about the original ECW. Instead of just shoehorning a guy into a gimick, they just let them go out and figure out what they were good at and do it. It didn't always work out 100%, but when it clicked, it was great.

Yea Sabu was really hit and miss for me, when he was on he could do some awesome things. But a lot of times it was just one botch after another with the guy.
