This is a weird question, but I was just wondering to all of the video game players out there. Have you ever had a dream of a certain level or thing in a video game that was actually quite different than its realistic counterpart? Here is what I am talking about.
"Super Mario Bros. 3" - I had a dream of the sky level. It was very similar to the real one, but it was just so weird, because there was something somewhat strange (not creepy or frightening per say, but weird) about it. I cannot remember all of the details, all I just know is that I had a dream of the sky level.
"Zelda II: the Adventure of Link" - I had one dream of a dungeon (not one in specific), and another dream of a place where you talk to (the swamp that leads to the second level). The dungeon was quite different, was nothing like any of the dungeons in the game, but the swamp that led me to the second level was entirely the same.
"Legend of Zelda III: A Link to the Past" - As with the previous, I had a dream of a certain thing, which was nothing like its real counterpart. In this dream, I had a dream of the over-world. I think I was walking out of a dungeon or something.
"Adventure Island 3" - In this dream, I was playing the game, and I was trying to beat a boss, I cannot remember the name of the boss unfortunately, but even though I cannot remember whether or not I beat it, the boss was different than its realistic counterpart. In this same dream, I was playing with some of my toys, that in comparison were very different than their realistic counterparts. I also had a second dream of this game, in one of the levels, I cannot remember which one truthfully, I got to a level, and you know how the bosses appear when you reach the levels on the maps, well a bony swordfish appeared as a boss for a level.
Anyway, has this ever happened to you, or something similar? Please comment.

Yeah, constantly
Usually though the dream doesn't have to be of a specific game or even ABOUT a specific game, but everything I do, my actions, I act out as if I were in a game. Simple things like my latest dream, where I was moving to a new house and I had to decorate the house according to how you do it on Sims 2. Or if I have to go somewhere I'm in a side scroller and there's loading screen (I swear xD) in between places

I had a dream about a fictional Beauty & the Beast game (SNES) which was completely different than the actual B&TB game (which wasn't that good, sadly). After the final boss, The Flintstones popped up for the credits. Ah, the randomness of dreams. :D
I also had a dream about an Excel Saga game. It was a 3D platformer and Excel was jumping her way through a pit-filled fortress of some sort. That's about all I remember there.

I'm sure I've had more than a few over the years that I've since forgotten about. But the most recent was just awhile back. I was playing the original NES Battletoads, but instead of a toad the character I was playing was me! :D

I once had a dream in which I was playing a Super Mario Brothers game where the stage looked like ancient Rome and Mario and Luigi were both wearing togas and laurels.
Also (and this is true), myself and both of my brothers each at different times had dreams about seeing a Street Fighter 3 game about a year before the game was officially announced. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see much of the game itself, because a large crowd of people were gathered around the cabinet to see the game. The game cabinet was in a doughnut store in a mall, and I only got a brief glimpse of the screen. The stage was a landscape made up of several cliffs and canyons. I got a look at the side of the cabinet, and the only character that I recognized was Ryu, who looked the same as usual. I was standing behind some dude and his girlfriend, and the girlfriend says "Don't tell me M. Bison's not in this game!". To which, her boyfriend responds "None of the bosses are in this game, and neither are...." and he ran off a bunch of names which a forgot shortly after waking up.
The title logo was really impressive looking, though. The cabinet was black and the logo was the usual Street Fighter title, right underneath that was a large, 3 dimensional roman numeral "III" in florescent white with a glowing effect. I like that SF3 logo better than the one that Capcom actually used.

I once dreamed that I was in a Wal-Mart/Target-type department store and I saw an arcade cabinet for a Capcom-produced Fantastic Four video game, drawn and animated in the Darkstalkers style. There were 4 joysticks, once for each team member, like on Konami's TMNT arcade games.
And to confirm what Blackstar said above, I too had a dream about a Street Fighter 3 about a year before the title was announced. I mainly got a look at the character select screen, which looked like the one from Super Street Fighter 2 except that the background color was purple instead of blue.
There were a lot of new characters: a buff black woman wearing a purple Wonder Woman-style spandex costume (she looked a bit like Nu'Bia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nubia_%28comics%29), only this was years before I knew who that was) and wielding a big scimitar (a Sinbad the Sailor type sword), a punk rocker with a green mohawk, sunglasses and a black leather jacket who was giving a double thumbs-up in his illustration, an anime-looking chick (she kind of looked like a Sailor Moon character with short blonde hair like C-Ko from Project A-Ko) wearing a pink and orange bikini and with a motorcycle chain draped over her shoulders, and 2 characters who may have been mutants or aliens: an androgynous person with pale blue skin and long purple hair; he/she was standing in profile on his/her screen portait, and a big, buff, purple-skinned pupil-less guy with fangs standing in a monstrous pose.
The only stage I remember seeing was an urban back alley, with trash cans, graffiti sprayed on the walls, and a 2 1/2 D fire escape on the far right side (I guess the fighters could interact with it).

I once had a dream about seeing a promo for a made-for-TV movie adaption of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and it was going to air on NBC. Remember when they used to show made-for-TV movies?

I had a dream that was like a video game. Kind of a survival horror thing going on, that involved myself and another person driving along in the woods and coming across a small town. We ended getting hit by something unknown and end up in a rundown hospital.
All of a sudden, corpses start popping out of the darkness and I only have a metal tray as a weapon as I start searching for a way out, but not until I find out what's going on. This leads to some certain interesting aspects that have yet to be found out.
I'm trying to expand this idea for a story I'm working on.

Here is an interesting story of mine. I remember when I ordered "Adventures of Lolo 3" from Funco, I had this weird dream. In my dream, I saw black gigantic versions of common bugs in a bluish somewhat hue darkness. This was in response to the bosses from the video game being gigantic versions of the enemies. Anyway, this dream left a bad taste in my mouth for some reason, but it was worth it. It was one of my leaving-me-a-bad-taste-in-the-morning dreams that was actually worth it, my other ones were not.

Ben 10: Alien Force/Kingdom Hearts
B10: AF
James Levin: That's me (OC - original character)
Kevin Levin: My brother (in this dream and in my DA fic), in the show y'know him as Levin
Ben Tennyson
Gwen Tennyson
Highbreed
KH
Sora
Ven
Terra
Aqua
Xehanort
Goofy
Donald
Riku
Well, in my dream. We had this big battle. Called; "The Battle of the Hearts". Which Highbreed and Xehanort (Birth by Sleep's antagonist) was co-conspiring to throw the world into chaos. Which they summoned Heartless & DNAliens
Battle scene: Hollow Bastion's Grand Hall [area were you fought Riku] <== final area
Group 1: Consists of Jim, Kevin, Aqua, Riku & Ben
Group 2: Gwen, Sora, Ven & Terra, Goofy & Donald
This was an ultimate battle of sorts. Where Highbreed was working alongside Xehanort to get rid of us. Which they summoned these creatures. Creatures known as heartless and DNAliens, aliens disguised as people.
The final area of the palace was the Grand Hall, which transformed into a space-esque background. Where the final battle would begin against Highbreed and Xehanort.
The layout would just be exactly the same in the first KH game. And this dream world, my world was merged with Ben's world.

Here is another interesting story of mine, this dream was actually a nightmare. In the dream, I visited an empty log cabin on a sun lit non-windy day, but I did something to get myself into the water scene from the Nintendo video game, "the Addams Family", the part where Gomez goes into the water. However, in the water, I saw the heads of two monsters, they had the same kind of heads, but one was red and one was black. They resembled Dr. Deemo, a "Swamp Thing" action figure, being one of the four evil "un-men" toys. The heads were popping out on the left side of the screen. Well, this made me want to stop playing the game for a while, but I got over it, and the game is still one of my favorite games of all time. I have weird dreams, I know.

There was another dream I had. It was not a nightmare per say, but it was dark in its atmosphere. I was at my father's house, he has a big dark house, and I was looking through the window of my neighbor's house. In the window, I saw a skulltula, it is an enemy from the video game, "the Legend of Zelda: the Ocarina of Time." It was looking at me, but it was not doing anything, and somehow I think it got killed, but I am not sure. Anyway, this is all I can remember from it. Does anyone have any other dreams they want to share concerning video games in any way or another?

This dream was way back in September/October of 2005 when I was getting all hyped up about buying Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness for my Gamecube. The details are sketchy to me now, but it had to do with the Shadow Lugia and Cipher in the game. And for some strange reason....Alvin and the Chipmunks were in it too... Never could figure that one out.
I had a dream years ago that I was Mario flying to Princess Peach's castle because she was having some kind of party. I got there and found the castle abandoned. I started to explore the castle to see if I could find anyone. All was quiet when, suddenly, Bowser (made entirely of flames, for some reason) came walking around a corner. It was actually pretty scary.
About a week ago I had a dream that was... sort of like a combination of Fatal Frame and EarthBound/Mother. I don't remember much, but it was pretty disturbing.

When I was a kid, I remember having a weird dream racing down Rainbow Road in a kart with some of my friends. I think I fell off the edge or something and then I woke up.
And that's why, to this day, I hate that stage in Mario Kart games. :D

There was another dream that I forgot to mention. It involves both "Super Mario Bros. 3" and "the Legend of Zelda." In a certain part of the dream, I encountered a Thwomp in one of the fortresses (cannot remember which one, though), and in another in it, I went to a fairy fountain, but instead of having a fairy in the bed of water, it had a Lynel (a half man/half lion enemy), and instead of filling up my life with a circle of heart containers surrounding the fairy, there were a circle of Keeses (bat enemies), which surrounded the Lynel, which was seen in the bed of water. Hm, weird dream, heh?

Whenever GTA Vice City came out I played probably 40 hours in three days. I kept having dreams of playing grand theft auto and one morning I woke up with 2 hours of sleep to go to work and I backed into a fire hydrant because real world physics were messed up in my head. After that I had to take a break.

*I had a dream that Leon dies falling from the train in the end of "Resident Evil 2" in water and being eaten by a giant crocodile
*I imagined that sometimes when I play "Resident Evil 2" nemesis jumps in from the window he jumped on Jill and the character I play with tells it: "You're in the wrong game, in my script you don't appear in this game", Nemesis: "HUH? OH YEAH, RIGHT, you no Jill, me not supposed to hit you, thanks for the fix friend" They shake hand, Nemesis gets out from the window again and fixes it.

Of course, I was the first one to find out why we were finding my various friends corpses in the 2nd floor closet.

You should face your fears, and play Mario Kart again.
I had a dream a few days ago where i was at some farm or something, and the people there had an area in their shop was video games. Id figure "Mmm, i wonder what could be in there". I found rare games such as imports, a gold cased Link to the Past game and many more. At one point, they had sealed copies of Dreamcast games, and one of those were the english copy of Mark of the Wolves. I was happy, and at the end of my dream, i remember them saying that they were trying to get rid of them for a dollor.
Then, i woke up, and felt sad, because in the real world, i dont have money to get games till pay day.
I cant wait till pay day:D...

Here is yet another "Legend of Zelda" dream. Now, I cannot remember this one very well, but I remember trying to find the magic rod for the first "Legend of Zelda" game by searching my former house. I might have tried to find it in one of the real levels, but I cannot remember very well whether or not I did.
I also had a "Legend of Zelda" dream, based on the first game, as well, where I got to a level, I think Ganon's level, but instead of meeting Ganon, I encountered enemies like those from "a Link to the Past", I think Pickitt (name of an enemy) rather enemies.
I cannot remember any more video game dreams, but I will post more if I do.

Had a left 4 dead dream two nights ago. Zombies all over and a friend of mine kept telling me to get to the rooftop to make it to the helicopter. So crazy that in the dream I realized "wait a second, this is just stupid, why would a helicopter be coming to get me, must be a dream" then woke up. Wasn't scary, even knew what my health bar was at because I kept asking my friend for first aid because I was at 20.

Not to bring back a very old thread or again, but I must post this. Two nights ago I had a very creepy dream of a part of "the Legend of Zelda: the Ocarina of Time." I was playing Link in Kakariko village, and it was very dark (do not think night, think of when Link first becomes an adult, and sees that the Zelda's castle turned into Ganon's castle). Anyway, when I was in Kakariko Village, gorons attacked the people in the village, and rocks came crushing down (think of the battle scene with the dragon in the Fire temple). There was also fire, if I could recall. It was very creepy, and I do not know why, but it somewhat unnerved me. I can still play the game, but it might be a while. Weird, huh?

I had a dream where me and 4 other friends were playing an MMO on the Wii, yeah, an MMO on the Wii!
We had all made our characters to look somewhat alike, we had the same hair COLOR (white), but all had diffrent hair STYLES. We even went after the same gear set, which was all in white.
We all timed it to trigger a cut scene at the same time, so it played 5 times in a row, once for each of our characters. It involved a female character in the MMO's story running up and hugging our character.
One of my favorite dreams ever.
