Welcome the New "DC Animation Forum" Background!

It's that time of the year again! We've changed up the DC Animation Forum background to introduce some of the new and some of the old. With new shows and direct-to-video films coming down the pike, we figured now was the best time to slip in a new background. If you can not see the background, just refresh your browser page.

As always, you can thank (or throw tomatoes at) James for the background!

Another nice job.

Great work on the color palette also. I think that's the aspect of these backgrounds that always catches my eye first - this one's very purpley (I guess James got the Joker image he wanted for last year).

Just curious about one thing: was the decision to use a shot of Batman without his utility belt intentional or just random selection of available B&B images?

We only had a selection we could use, but since then (bizarrely, a few days later) we have more, so we're removing the beltless blunder for a different image. A couple of tidy ups will take place also.

Frame is no bigger than Luthor's - it's just he has those crazy eyes. We even added a larger panel to compensate (Wonder Woman's used to be Robin (TT) and Superman (LOSH) as two panels).

James Harvey is always keen on making sure BTAS has a firm mark on the wallpaper given it's long term relevance to DCAF/WF. And of course, with Batman showcased in The Brave and Bold, we needed to have another iconic BTAS character. Can't get better that Mister Jay.

I'm still seeing the old wallpaper, with Luthor, BTAS Batman, Question, TB Batgirl, TT Robin, Batman Beyond, LOSH Superman and New Frontier Wonder woman.

Just to show to latecomers what eagle eyes Toddman had that made the last minute change - the Brave & Bold Batman - he's missing his utility belt.

Well, it didn't matter to me, but I can appreciate how such a little detail could become irritating to those who's eyes are used to a certain balance to the costume ensemble.

Of course, to share the nerdiness award, Bird Boy also spotted this and I laughed him down saying no one would really notice.

I was full of wrongz.

I'm new here so I don't know how it looked before but I think it looks great! What I do like is that the overall page is not too busy, makes it a lot easier to read...good job.

Conroy will be back on our next drunken attempt to appease Mr Harvey. He loves his Conroy Batman does old Jim.

Nope that was entirely accidental, though Flash's glare at Mr Jay was intended. All I can say is there was no way that myself or Bird Boy were going to pull a collection of images that didn't contain Terry. He's a constant while I'm doing the background. Personal preference!

I was going to say the new background is great (mainly thanks to MOTP Joker!), but I chose 'Good' on the poll because I'd like to see the DCAU dominating the background in the future. I have nothing against the DC Universe movies, but I prefer the designs of Flash, Superman and Wonder Woman from the DCAU. Just a matter of personal preference (though I'll admit that in that shot, DC Universe WW looks a lot like her DCAU counterpart). And of course, I'd like to see DCAU Batman again in the background eventually, though that particular shot of the Batman from Batman: The Brave and the Bold is cool.

Yeah, his confrontation with Reeves was excellent, and it was a smart choice to include a shot from that iconic scene in the new background! :)
