I only ask because Cartoon Network doesn't seem to be airing the series at all recently, not even the reruns. It seems odd that CN would cancel George of the Jungle so soon, especially seeing as how some George nood bumps were made.
So is GotJ canceled or just on hiatus?

Well I don't now when the new episodes are on, but reruns come on everyday.

I believe it is a hiatus. However, as George came right before the new management, and as the new management is purging everything that predates them, George could be in trouble, especially as it isn't pulling in Chowder-size ratings (which is the only reason Chowder is still going. Seriously. The odd episodes orders pretty much reveal that CN wants to get rid of it but can't because of ratings power, like with Justice League Unlimited).

That's not true. CN definitely loves Chowder. Sure, they gave it an extremely short semi-season (9 eps), but they also gave it 2 20 episode seasons. And CN can't hate something that brings in ratings. I don't know what happened with JLU.

I don't know what happened with JLU.
Not to take this thread too far off-topic, but what I heard was that CN was coming under new management at the time, and the new higher-ups wanted to move away from Capes, at the same time, Bruce Timm had also had his fill of superhero shows. So JLU ended and CN didn't even bother showing the reruns; they just burned through the last season of JLU just to fill their requirement of airing all of the epsiodes.

And let's not forget that season 1 was EXPANDED. It was originally just 13 episodes but CN increased it to 20 after the series started airing. That's why in some sources the additional seven eps from season 1 is listed as season 2 episodes.
I wouldn't be surprised if the season 3 order will increase from 9 to whatever.

I really don't care either way...Geeorge is an ok show...But it feels more like a nicktoon to me for some reason? anyway...If George ever does get cancled....I think they should just air some older CN shows in its spot.:D

Ironically the show is shown on Nicktoons in the U.K.:p

I saw four episodes recently. But they were all repeats.

They can hate what brings in ratings. The trick to making you'reself remembered well is to make people forget what came before.

Has 26 episodes aired? If not, that's because there isn't any. Teletoon is waiting for the 3rd season to finish production, and then more than likely they'll air it first

All 26 episodes of the first two seasons have aired, so yeah, no more new episodes until season three is done.

I just saw some reruns on this morning. I'm guessing that its on hiatus since they did make a George of the Jungle Nood in one of their bumps. There's also the fact that they're waiting for the third season to finish production, but I didn't know about that until now.
Hasn't stopped them from making bumps for Lazlo, when the show is already canceled and hardly airs.
I think there is a possibility that CN won't air or produce George season 3 considering how they've been shunning it as of late. Never really cared for George anyways.

Lazlo at least airs in the afternoon, whereas George airs in the early mornings when kids are at school.

I think It is all up to Teletoon (The co-producers)

For the record, the VA's name is Lee Tockar, who also voices Eugene, aka, "Bling-Bling Boy" on Johnny Test.
Funny thing is that overseas, George of the Jungle airs on Disney Channel, which actually seems more fitting since it's them who own the live-action movies.
I dunno who owns the original series, although I recall it aired on CN during the 90s.

The original Jay Ward George of the Jungle series did air on Cartoon Network US during the 1990s, not for very long though, IIRC.

I think Classic Media owns the rights for all the Jay Ward stuff with the possible exception of "Hoppity Hooper," which I believe is still owned by the Ward estate.
I remember seeing "George" on CN USA. That's how I discovered the series.
