This is the talkback thread for Cartoon Network's Christmas '08 Programming: Chowder, 6Teen, and More (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=27199).
Nice to see that we're getting some nice goodies for this Christmas season from Cartoon Network. :D Looking forward to the Chowder and the Batman holiday specials, along with that new Christmas movie/special.

They listed Krypto the Superdog. OH MY GOODNESS.
Awaits Krypto Nood...
By the way, did anyone notice that a main writer of TSS (Scott Jeralds) happened to also write Krypto?

 Chowder looks creepy in his pajamas. I can't wait for the Batman special, I bet ya that little kids "will love" him beating up Santa. And we get to see the PPG and Johnny Bravo Christmas specials.

By the way, did anyone notice that a main writer of TSS (Scott Jeralds) happened to also write Krypto?Scott is the director of TSS, not the writer. And he directed Krypto also. It's Brandon Sawyer who's the story editor/head writer (of TSS, not Krypto).

Edit: Oh and Ed, Edd N Eddy
An Eddy Nood already exists, it aired before the Halloween special which was played two or so times. A PPG Nood will be likely considering the 10th anniversary special and all. JB I'm not so sure, but if MGPAM can have one (aired only once so far), JB can too.

That looks a little deformed, why not have all three on individual noods? That would be cool.

It could be a bump where the professor used a potion on them, and they all got stuck together on a nood.

Oh boy, this sounds great. It's going to be so cool having PPG and Bravo back, even if they're only visiting for the holidays. It'll be nice to see them airing alongside Chowder, now if only every day could be like that. I hope there's both a PPG and Bravo Nood.
And then Krypto had to come and ruin it...

Did they ever show Superman on Krypto? He's mentioned A LOT, but I don't think his face is ever shown, if he appeared at all. Same for Lex Luthor.
Yeah, in the first episode.

I know that Batman, The Joker's, Penguin's, and Catwomen's pets were in the show, but their owners were never seen.

Krypto bump will probably be him flying and turning around, then turning back around and running straight into the CN logo, leaving red and white on it.

Uh just like there were generic Halloween Nods for the Halloween special I'm sure there are going to be generic Christmas nods. I really doubt that just becuase it's a holiday special CN is going to make new nods for Krypto or Johnny Bravo. PPG may get one eventually if it does more regularly come back to CN after it's marathon special (same if EEE gets one for it's movie special) but I doubt we're going to see any new specific show nods just because a special coming's out for christmas about the show.

Superman appeared in the first episode of Krypto. He looked a little similar to his Bruce Timm Superman counterpart. Lex Luthor appeared in another episode, but he looked nothing like Bruce Timm's Lex and he had pale-green skin.

Call me crazy, but I could see the PPG's Nood be Mojo Jojo. For some reason, when I think of a Nood, I think of Mojo's teeth-filled smile.
Looking forward to the Chowder and 6TEEN specials, and anytime CN puts any Johnny Bravo on is epic win.

Didn't we have a Johnny Bravo marathon earlier in the year but didn't get good ratings? If it did do you think it would've been played more often?
Probably, just like what happened to Courage.

Looking forward to the Chowder and 6TEEN specials, and anytime CN puts any Johnny Bravo on is epic win.I forgot to include the 6teen episode "Deck The Mall" in my listing (in other threads) as one that Nickelodeon (and Nicktoons) aired a few years ago. Sorry for the omission. It'll be great to see the episode again, along with PPG and Johnny Bravo, especially.
ok, I'll get the guillotine.:D

It's definitely possible that the specials will be aired more than once. And if the PPG special does well enough, we could see it back in regular rotation.

I kind of liked Krypto too. I thought that the premier episode was good and I did like how the series focused on the pets of superheroes and villains. Of course, it helps that I'm a dog person too. Anyway, its nice to hear about all of these holiday specials. I'm honestly going to look foreword to watching all of them since they sound pretty cool and besides that, I always enjoy watching holiday specials.

I just hope that these miscellaneous specials are aired at a decent time and not, you know, seven in the morning.
EDIT: I just read the press release and it appears that they are indeed going to be aired in the wee hours of the morning. I suppose that it’s safe to say that most people aren’t going to be able to watch many of these specials.

Aw peas. Since the PPG special will air at 6, there most likely won't be a Nood for it.

The encores of JB and EEnE are in the afternoon.I guess that’s better. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that “The Powerpuff Girls” is going to receive such a favorable encore; both airings of its special are at 6:00 AM. As for “Krypto: The Superdog”, despite the love that it received in this thread, it only gets one airing and it’s at 6:00 AM as well.

That will probably be the case. Too bad since I thought that Class of 3000 had a pretty good Christmas special. I thought that the show was really good, but at least they did air off the last episodes in a decent marathon.

I liked Krypto as well, the Dog of Steel having been one of my earliest exposures to the whole Superman mythos (growing up watching the 60s Filmation Superboy cartoons that had Krypto in them). However, I wouldnt' look for Krypto to permanently come back to CN---the show seems to be firmly entrenched on Boomerang (in some early-evening timeslot), last I checked.
That, and also disappointed at most of these specials airing at some ungodly hour for the most part; however, at least I didn't see any mention of live-action movies in that list...

Maybe class of 3000 christmas can find a certin spot in one of the marathons and hopefully bahhumduck returns too, can't wait this holiday season

And to that, I say "Eh". While it was nice to see the Looney Tunes characters on Cartoon Network again, I didn't much care for Bah, Humduck. I felt it was a mistake casting Daffy Duck as Ebenezer Scrooge. Yosemite Sam would have been a much better choice for the role. It's only writers/directors who don't understand the Duck that call him a villain. He isn't. Daffy isn't evil; he's just vain, selfish and self centered. Daffy is first and foremost, insane. The Duck can be a jerk at times, but he's no cold hearted tyrant.
I also didn't like how for this special Porky Pig was given a daughter, and then also made into a widower whose wife conveniently died before the 1st scene. If the writers were going to rewrite history so that Porky could have a daughter, why not give him a wife as well? I personally hate it when characters are killed off for no reason.

That seems unlikely. The Flintstones has since been relegated to Boomerang, and I don't think that Cartoon Network ever aired the The Mask:TAS. I know that it ran on Nickelodeon for a time, so I doubt that we'll see the Xmas episodes of either series on CN.

Hm, well the Mask Animated Series ran on Cartoon Network for several years actually..from late 1995 to fall 1997, atleast in the US. On CN UK/Europe it was i think a year more. And at that time, they actually aired Mask episodes on Christmas :)
