Four hundred and fifty years ago this day, the Princess Elizabeth said these words when she was told her sister Queen Mary had died, thus succeeding to the throne of England. From the unwanted daughter of a wrongly executed Queen, to the objective of so many coups and plots, to the seemingly doomed prisoner of the Tower of London, Elizabeth had finally gained the English Crown on November 17, 1558, beginning a reign of forty-five years.
