Forever I hope! Do you think this awesome website will go on awhile?
Until it no longer becomes profitable.:p

That's a pretty dour thing to say, especially on the forum itself.
We don't really know how long stuff on the internet will last, since it's still relatively new. It could last 70 years for all we know. I, for ,one, hope that TZ lives to see a ripe old age.

Hopefully for a long time. This is pretty much the only forum I frequent on a daily basis and post regularly on, so I'd probably feel lost without it. :)

I would be completely lost. To be honest, I'm almost a little worried that Toonfest board will take us down. So, this site will exist as long as people post?

Did Toonfan1980 pay you to say that? ;)
But seriously, Toon Zone's got a good 10 years on that site. That's not something I would be worried about.
As long as the owners and admins keep running the place, as long as cartoons are still being made, as long as banned members keep re-registering, and as long as there are heirs to pass on the site to the next generation, there will always be a Toon Zone to discuss cartoons in.
Toon Zone: people may imitate it, but never replace it.
To be honest, I'm almost a little worried that Toonfest board will take us down.
bah, seeing as how this is the first time ive ever even heard of this "Toonfest", id say they got nothing on Toon zone.
besides, Zone beats Fest any day, so we win cause we got the cooler word after Toon in our name:D.

You mean that site that a person send me a PM about? I say Toon Zone will be around until the end of the internet as we know it as we can discuss a wide variety of things other than cartoons.

Little insulted. I've said a million times I'm done with Toonfest. I see now what a bad idea it was. That Toonfest site is expanding.

Hopefully for several decades.
You want to hear something funny. One time I had this dream where somewhere started a thread like this and a mod said that the website expires in 2013. Good thing it was only a dream.

I've heard of Toon Feast, but I have no idea what it is at all.
Anyway, I think that as long as the people want to run this site and people still come here to discuss, then Toon Zone will be around for a long time. I'm glad for that myself. This is like the only board where I post practically everyday and it is by far the best one with a good amount of mature and friendly discussions. It would feel kind of sad if it just ended like that.

Awkward! xD Wasn't the world supposed to die then cuz of Y2K and all of the missles and nukes around the world going off and blowing up and stuff?

I don't think the Y2K scaremongers ever came up with an explanation as to why the world would end because of digital clocks having troubles with the year 2000.

How old were the computers in question?
At least 100 years old.
/not really
Most computers were fine, actually. A few messed up and put, like, 19100 instead of 2000, but they were in the minority.

That's when Switzerland will enter phase 3 of it's plan, which is when the Papal Swiss Guard will reccieve secret orders, and more than likely will destroy the world with their swiss army tanks (this is why they've always been so neutral)

It will probably be around until the owners cannot keep the site going anymore or maintain interest.
TZ's been going since '98 (I think) so there's probably at least a few years still left in it.

Depends on a couple things: ability to finance the site, and the ability to discuss animation.
The existence of CN (coupled with the surge of anime) goes a long way in explaining ToonZone's staying power. If CN were to disappear for instance, it would remove one of the most widespread sources for animation distribution.

Really?
I think even if Cartoon Network was to go off the air tomorrow there would still be things to talk about around here.
CN isn't the be-all, end-all in animation.

Did I say CN going off air would equal death to Toonzone? No. But look, it's on basic cable, it reaches most of the US population. It's a network dedicated largely to Cartoons. It is a widespread venue to distribute animation to the masses and it's marketing is based on its cartoons rather than a more general kids thing like Nickelodean or Disney.
Of course there would still be things to talk about, but it would require more effort on the part of people to go out and find animations which means things would be more difficult. And certainly the growth of CN in the late 90s was a big help to the growth of ToonZone.

Alright in a serious note, I think Toon zone will be around for a long, long time but it depends on who continues to own it, or who owns it next and their actions on the site. >_> Unless the admin decide to give his power to someone else who is a complete moron and likes to destroy things, I think we are fine.

This. It's Harley's leadership and devotion that has kept this site glued together. I'd be very nervous if she handed it off to anyone else, or worse sold it to some big company that only wanted more property.
Plus, you could say I have personal reasons for wanting it to stick around. I would like it NEVER to fail because, y'know, my site is on it.

Toonzone will last until the zombie outbreak.
Then you all will wish you had heeded the zombie thread more carefully, but it will be too late.
