Has anyone ever bid for anything on eBay? What did you bid for, and did you win it?

...umm, I've bid on too many things to list them all.

Most of my purchases on eBay tend to be used DVD's or toys that I can't find in stores.

Yep! I've found myself bidding on it a lot lately (addicted? Possibly :p), and I mostly bid on doujinshi (Japanese fan comics) and DVDs. Out of the about 8 bids I've made on Ebay (and soon to be much more) since last June, I've won 4. That isn't too bad, right? I only have two feedbacks that they count though, since I've come to like certain sellers and get things from them more than once.

On Ebay I've bought comics, books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, laserdiscs, 16mm film, video tapes, video games, autographed pictures, and one time I bought a refrigerator magnet.

I have too! I got a few games, a Gameboy Pocket plus 2 games for $10, four graphic novels, a buttload of the old Who Framed Roger Rabbit comics and Ducktales comics, a large Roger plush, and probably more but I can't think of em. :D

I have a Q: How do you 'sell' from Ebay? Is it a simple matter of putting up an item and, once the results are in, ship it off, or is there more you've got to do?

I have... I don't do it often, but I do see it as a means to an end... my most recent Ebay purchase was for a replacement crossover for my car stereo system. Someone on Ebay had the exact same model, and I won the bid.

I've bid a couple times, but would be more interested in unloading some Junk...er...items on E-Bay, but don't know how the while "selling" stuff over ebay thing works...

Yes, only for videos with classic cartoons. The demand must not be that great, so I get them most of the time. (Sometimes at a good price, sometimes expensive.)

Some sellers try to rip people off by charging $5 (or even more!) shipping on one video.

I use it from time to time to buy comics, CDs, DVDs, and other bizzare oddities that I would have never found anywhere else. One time, just for kicks, I typed in my mom's name (which is not a common name by any stretch of the imagination. It doesn't even appear on any websites that have name meanings) and found an old transitor radio that was made by a brand that was the same as her name, so I bought that for the sheer novelty of it. And I've purchased my current version of Corel on there for way lower than it retails for (and yes, it was a legal edition!). So while I may, from time to time, call it fleecEBay because it's so easy to get ripped off on there if you let yourself, you can also find great deals on there. I've picked up complete runs of comics for unbelievable low prices over what other back issue places would charge, for example.

Selling on ebay is simple

Click sell

Find a category for your item

Give it a title and description, then list it

All you need is a credit card

Once the auction is over, contact the high bigger, give him your address, wait for the money, get money, send item and leave feedback I hate people who don't leave it

Why do you need a credit card? Does it cost money to sell stuph?

You need the credit card so that you don't rip anyone off. Let's say I bought something from you, sent you the money, but you don't want to send me the good's. I can turn you in and get credit. It's just to keep e-bay safe.

Yes it cost 30 cents to sell an item plus .2% or something of the final selling price. It's really cheap.

it's that cheap?! why do people fuss so much about listing prices?

I sell a few things on ebay. I might sell some beanie babies, I could easily make a profit there, lol. I have yet to buy anything though, lol, though I've wanted to. It can be incredibly addicting.

It did go up a spanking 5 cents last year. Other than that I don't see why. They think it should be free I guess.

I used to bid. Win and then never actually follow through with the purchase. That was when I thought it was funny. Now I have actually bid won and paid. I've bought a Tom Green Tape and some old episodes of unsubtitled Japanese Prime Time TV Shows.

Yep, e-bay listing used to be free. The bigger they got, the more they started charging. For those of us that were with the site fromt he start, this was rather annoying. Also, it used to be a lot easier to sell things there - because it was smaller, very few people would have the same item up for sale that you did. So, i could throw up a bunch of comics for $1 each and sell them easily. If I wanted to do teh same thing now, i'd be spending $0.30 per comic I listed, plus my chances of selling are lower, since there are probably 20 other people selling the same thing out there.

But, i still use it all the time. I've completed something like 900 auctions, though the bums out there have only left me around 400 feedback.

And yes, I've bought a lot on the sit as well. The old days of the site were really good - you could find really, really good deals. I got one of my first animation cels from an ebay transaction. It was a cel that sold in the stores for $600 - I got it for $200. You never find great deals like that anymore.

I've bid alot on ebay, I think I've bought around 26 things, mostly used it for getting better deals on things that you can usually only find in some places for scalper prices. Like I was able to get something off of ebay for $23 after shipping which I saw at this collectible shop that they wanted $75 for.
