Aw shucks :o

Great image! I see you went more with the comic book character designs. I love the crow, and like pretty much all of your drawings, it is filled with energy! Looks like the sort of gag you'd see on a Fox and crow comic too :p

Aww, thanks Jon!:D

Your drawing is great! Lots of energy, it looks allot like a very fast-paced cartoon. I really like that sandwhich gag too! I can't wait to see the comic!

I guess my Fox and Crow ended up as kind of a cross between the cartoon and the comic versions. I am glad you guys liked it. For some reason, the Crow's feet were colored a light purple color on the comics I've seen, I think orange (like in the cartoons) looks a little better.

This'll be a great comic book adaptaion. I'm glad you went with a more subdued color for the insides of the Fox's ears, the same red as the the bow tie used for the cover was a tad strong. My favorite drawing on the page is probably the closeup of the Crow with money symbols in his eyes.

Jack :D

Jon Cooke
03-06-2002, 05:46 PM
Yeah, I wasn't pleased with the red inside the Fox's ears either. That's why I changed it. I have gone back and changed it on the "cover" too.

Page 2 will be up sometime tonight. Stay tuned!!

I'm working on a few of my own comics too. Now what I would really like to see is a drawing by Jon with Harveytoon characters. :D

The cover change on the cover looks even better, Jon! I will stay tuned tonight to see part two. Man, Jon your drawings are great!

Sorry this is so late. I was having some problems with my connection. Everything seems to be fine now.

If you couldn't already guess, I can't draw cars very well... so that's why Foxie ended up driving that weird little car with trailer attached.

The epic "Fox & Crow" story continues... (http://looney.toonzone.net/picts/jon-foxcrow-004.gif)

I had fun drawing this one. I liked the exaggerated expressions I got from the Crow and the Fox. I am also looking forward to drawing the E.T. part... but that is a ways off in the future... :p

I would love to hear any comments from anybody! :D

Pietro

That one was the best one you've drawn yet.
The drawings have a quick, slick, fast-paced, full-of-energy, style to them. Very good job, Jon!

Thanks for the kind words, Pietro.

Is anybody besides Jack, Thad, you, and myself reading this thread? Just curious. :p

Any comments on this foolishness, anyone? :)

Maybe you could make your own comic book website, and post the pictures there. Or better yet, a drawing gallery! :D

A bunch of Malaysian and Turkish kids know about them too... I kinda wonder what other TZ board members who read our F&C fanfics and see stuff like this think we are doing.

I like the most recent installment the most too, Jon. Especially the top right box and the center one.

Maybe we should make a special Fox and Crow fanclub, we could even have business cards. That'll teach them, they'll want to be cool, like us.

Actually it might Jack, I was thinking about doing another F&C fanfic in the coming month or so.

I think David Gerstein and Matthew Hunter know about are little F&C fanfics, since they contributed to the first two. But, I think we're actually some of the first F&C fans.

And ... every paying member gets a charming membership kit, which would only include one piece of paper that reads: "SUCKER!"

Also, there may not be an installment of "Inn Trouble!" today. I may not get around to it. Just a warning for the 3.. er... 4 of you who are following this thrilling, action-packed, F&C epic!

Good news! I got the next page done... I just need to scan & color it. I might get it done before bedtime. :)

If I don't... here's a special bonus. I came accross this drawing this afternoon, while going through some junk. It's a sketch I quickly drew around Christmas

It still makes me smile (I keep imagining what's gonna happen next...)

This one's for you, Thad! :D

Wow, that's a cool drawing, Jon. You should start your own Limited Editions! I'd pay $50 for a nice color picture of one of those... :D What'd I like to see is how Jon would handle a Herman & Katnip drawing, I'm sure it'd be great!

Just a word of advice, to make the drawing better, Katnip should be a little bit more fatter, since the cat never gets any exercise, except for chasing crows and mice... :p

I don't mind. Glad you liked it that much. Maybe someday I'll go back and color and clean it up a little for you.

Okay, and without further ado here's today's installment of "Inn Trouble!" .... Hot off the press!!!

Today's installment --- It's just slopping over with spine-tingling suspense!!! (http://looney.toonzone.net/picts/jon-foxcrow-005.gif)

This was another fun one to draw. More fun with crazy facial expressions (especially from Foxie).

Comments, anyone?

That last panel was actually the hardest to draw... I had a hard time trying to come up with a way to make it look like the Fox was instantly knocked out cold by that tiny tap on the head. I love the look on the Crow's face in that panel, myself. :)

I am glad you like the designs... I love drawing cartoons that are really crazy and exaggerated (as if you couldn't tell). I get worried that I sometimes take it to the extreme (like the Fox's reeeally skinny neck in some of those panels, when he gets really mad).

Again, I would love to hear comments from anybody. Even people who don't know who the heck these characters are. Maybe resident (and much more talented!) artists like our own Harley or Singin' Stray Cat can offer some commentary if they have a minute or two. Maybe? :)

-Jon

Jack
03-08-2002, 09:07 PM
oooooo, I was so excited when I saw that you drew the part I wrote. It looks so cool. I also like the last panel the best. :p

I remember the Fox's neck being kinda skinny in a few of the original cartoons.

Whoo, took me long enough to find this thread. :D I have heard of Fox and Crow before, but I don't know that much about them.

Wow, Jon, those comics are great! I especially like how you have the characters "breaking out" of the panels - the technique goes great with the energetic look of your characters.

Keep up the excellent work! :D

Pietro

I have been taking a little break from "Inn Trouble!". I had a busy weekend, and I had to finish some videos for Thad last night. Look for new installments sometime later this week.

But... I have taken Thad's earlier suggestion and made a gallery of all the pictures I have posted online. It can be seen here (http://looney.toonzone.net/stuff/draw.html).

Hey there, gentlemen!

I'm not sure how I missed this, but I discovered your excellent comic version of "Inn Trouble" only today.
Is this on permanent hiatus? Or might more be coming down the pike? (Hah, I should talk— never having contributed more than *one* chapter to any of Pietro's Fox and Crow fanfics!)

But wottheheck, I'm curious! Good stuff so far!

David
(wishing there was a market for new Fox and Crow stuff... sigh!)
