I just thought I'd bring back some old tradition,
"To Duck or Not to Duck" (1943)
An okay cartoon. But I think Jones' Daffy from the early 50s would be better suited in this cartoon than the early Daffy.
Rating: ***
"Bunny Hugged" (1951):
Very good cartoon! It's kinda a follow-up to "Rabbit Punch" made 4 years earlier (which I think is just a tad better than this). Very well animated. A Chuck Jones classic.
Rating: ****
"The Dixie Fryer" (1960):
Okay, but it's not one of McKimson's best. Foghorn Leghorn tries to fly south for the winter but two hillbilly chicken hawks (who appeared earlier in "Backwoods Bunny") try to eat him. Fair.
Rating: **
"Zip 'N Snort" (1961):
A classic Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote short. Very funny. The best gag is when Wile E. gets shocked by the wires that get pulled by the magnet on the fishing rod. Great!
Rating: *****
"Bully for Bugs" (1953):
Another Chuck Jones classic. Bugs burrows into the middle of a bull fight and ends up being the toreador. Excellent and very clever!
Rating: *****
"Porky the Rain-Maker" (1936):
Very early Tex Avery cartoon that he made at Warner's. This isn't Tex's best work. And it wouldn't reflect in his later cartoons. Okay.
