CN can't show any Digimon series in the USA what so ever, because Disney still holds the rights to them here. CN did indeed had the chance to acquire Savers, but at that time, they were putting too much focus upon their originals and acquisitions were on bottom of their priorities list unfortunately, so they made no effort what so ever to acquire Savers and that's how Disney easily acquired Savers.

Yeah, I don't get why this question came up. It is obviously a Disney property.

If you implying Cartoon Network would air the original version, Cartoon Network don't air subs. Though that would be cool.

Disney doesn't own it lock, stock and barrel. They only hold the USA TV rights to the Digimon series.

Never implied any of those. I was talking about the time(around 2006-2007) when Toei was still shopping the TV rights for Savers/Data Squad in the USA. At that time, Disney didn't hold the rights to Savers/Data Squad, thus CN had the chance to acquire the rights to Savers/Data Squad back then, but unfortunately, 3rd-party properties were the least of CN's priorities at that time, so Disney ended up snagging Savers/Data Squad instead.

Maybe if you check the international news thread @ the top of the board, you'll find an answer.

That is what I meant.

This is about India? Sorry I misunderstood.

Makes me wish Sean and Jason had gotten it for Toonami. God knows it would have been treated better there then on Toon Disney. X_X

Actually, it had pretty good treatment on Toon Disney. From what I could tell from people who had seen the Japanese version of Savers, it was a good dub and the edits were reasonable. I don't know if it would have aired differently on CN, but that couldn't have happened anyway since Disney owned all the rights to the Digimon and all of the previous four series were airing on Toon Disney at the time. It would make sense for Data Squad, the dub title for Savers, to air on Toon Disney.

Disney owned the rights to air the anime series of Digimon, but BANDAI actually owns more rights to Digimon than Disney thanks to their production with the video games. Disney had to get the broadcast rights to Data Squad from Toei, since it was Toei that got the rights to everything for Digimon Data Squad and could have let CN USA have it if they had wished to. Most people believe they only went to TD since they had the other series.

Doesn't Digimon air on the Jetix channel in India?

As for the US (and the UK for that matter), I doubt CN will be getting the new season of Digimon, but I would be willing to make an exception to my "no anime" rule to watch the first three seasons. That would be one of the best decisions CN could ever make.
