This movie looks awesome. Mostly because it's Clint Eastwood being his classic badass self.

Looks like Dirty Harry: The Golden Years. Haha!! :D Just kidding.

But yeah, I thought it looked a lot better than I thought it would based on the description when it was first announced. I'll take this one over Changeling.

I'm betting that Changeling will be an Oscar darling. Rumors circulated all over the place that this might be Dirty Harry 5 before most of the new broke. I'm not particularly impressed with the trailer though.

Probably. Like others have been saying, it looks like "Oscar bait." And I'm not too big on Angelina Jolie or Jeffrey Donovan.

It would be a sixth one, actually. :) And I was actually hoping for another Dirty Harry, because I thought the title and the rumored set-up sounded like good potential. In any event, I don't think this movie looks particularly "special," but I always like seeing Clint in "ass kicker" mode, and it's been awhile. :) I may see this in the theater, since Absolute Power was the last one of his I saw on the big screen.

Makes me wonder, though, if Clint was aware of all the "bitter old Dirty Harry yelling at young punks to get off his lawn" jokes among fans and put that in this movie as a sly nod. :D

Except Changeling got a lot of bad reviews, hurting it's chances in all areas except for Angelina Jolie for Best Actress and some of the artistic/tech categories.

Now, the Gran Torino trailer looks pretty good. If this is Clint's final movie, at least he's going out badass.

i get the feeling "go ahead, make my day." and "do you feel lucky?" will be totally appropriate lines at somepoint in the movie.

i'll be definately checking this out. i don't want to make comparisons to dirty harry, but this looks like the closest thing we'll ever get to another dirty harry film.

If you take away the racist old guy neighbor aspect it would have been the perfect sixth Dirty Harry movie. Seriously. Think about it. Dirty Harry is retired and just chilling in his front yard when he sees a gang making trouble in the neighborhood and decides to take care of it himself. Heck, I think this why there was so many rumors of this being the sixth DH movie. I think people read the script and realized what a great potential this would be.

I've gotta say, this was pretty mediocre. It's really only a few notches up from an actual Dirty Harry movie, so if that's all you're expecting, you won't be disappointed. Clint is great, but the rest of the cast is simply terrible. The script is sloppy, and as so often happens in Eastwood movies, there are characters so one-dimensional, so crudely drawn you could be forgiven for thinking you were watching a cartoon.

It's not quite a bad movie, though. It's very well directed, and it has a few enjoyable moments, some of which are actually very funny as well, but it's not half as smart or profound as it pretends to be.

I get your point, but that's a really lousy way to phrase it, given that this is TOONZONE and obviously the people here know that cartoons are capable of some depth.

I think anyone going to watch a movie like this would be surprised to find Dragonball-grade characters.

Your average live-action movie is pretty shallow too. And don't even get started on TV, where the average depth somehow drops even lower...
