Did they keep C.C.'s monologue at the end? Just hoping it didn't suffer under "Time-cut syndrome".

Now this is a cliffhanger. I remember how crazy the fans were trying to guess what would happen in R2 with this ending. We don't get that fun, as R2 begins next week.

How would you rate the acting in the final scene, I remember the original is was so well acted. Johnny as always was great, as for Yuri's preformance I have to watch it again to really rate his preformance.

Sadly no. But I think the case could be made it is out of place with this situation because R2 begins next week, oppose when it originally aired, there was a long hitaous.

You normal watchers are lucky. The next part airs next week. Us people who saw it early had to wait a whole freaking half-year to start R2. Trust me, the internet was going insane.

Bosch and Lowenthall were really spot on, especially Lowenthall. I could really hear the hate in his voice.

Still doesn't come close to Swaille's Light performance in the last episode though. That one is up with the greats.

When Suzaku was aiming that gun at Lelouch at the end, it reminded of Samuel Jackson's character holding a gun in National Lampoon's Loaded Weapons 1. One of the most underrated funny movies ever BTW.

Loved Suzaku's verbal beatdown on Lelouch at the end.

I thought they were gonna wuss out in the end and not have Lelouch unmask in front of Suzaku. Then bam, Suzaku forces it off of him. That last moment with the three together was so intense, I thought Kallen was gonna shoot Suzaku in the back without thinking. And it's nice to know that Lelouch was thinking straight throughout the whole ordeal. Yeah right... Tell Euphie's lover, who's pointing his gun at you, that her death isn't important anymore. THAT'LL stop him from shooting you. And smooth move leaving every back on the battlefield fending for themselves. You too, Kallen, with your powerful mecha. It's nice to know everyone manages to fall apart under pressure...

R2 better not begin with a cop out with a cliffhanger like this. And if Lelouch doesn't get an attitude adjustment, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna continue disliking him.

I've been looking forward to seeing how they would handle the finale confrontation... and I have to say, Yuri and JYB absolutely nailed it. I've watched those final seconds of the episode countless times and I still got shivers from it. Yuri had Suzaku's anger down perfectly. JYB had Lelouch's freakout spot on. Just... I'm really, really impressed.

The scene where Suzaku shoots Zero's helmet off and Lelouch's hair blows from the wind and the blood drips down his face... love it. Gives me chills.

We find out that Suzaku's suspected Lelouch of being Zero for some time... hence calling him from Euphie's phone a couple of episodes ago.

"I didn't want it to be you." I know, right Suzaku? No one wants their best friend to be their worst enemy. No one wants their best friend to be the one kill the person they love. I can't even imagine how Suzaku is feeling at this point. In the course of a few hours, he's effectively lost the woman he loves and his best friend... because of said friend. And Lelouch, being the genius that he is, rubs it in Suzaku's face. Really now? What did you think Suzaku was going to do after that?

On a happier note, I totally love that Arthur saves Suzaku from getting shot. The cat actually likes him :p

"Suzaku!"
"Lelouch!"

Man, you dub watchers are so lucky R2 is starting immediately after this. Such a killer cliffhanger.

What an episode, eh? Exploooossiiiive
Good thing R2 starts next week. The first time watchers don't have to deal with a break in schedule.
I love Lelouch. Enough said.
"Who killed my mother dammit!"
LOL JEREMIAH. He's so crazy. Man Crispinn<3

The last 5 minutes of this episode are pure amazing, they almost make me cry to be honest. I loved the scene where the blood drips down from Lelouch's forehead and his hair waves in his face. It's so freakin intense.
Regardless of what you say, he's a good guy. On the other hand, time to prepare myself for round two of Suzaku le ******.
The VAs did quite a wonderful job tonight.

-Neko Zero (Aurthur) actually cared for Suzaku after all the times he bit him?
-I loved how Lloyd pulled called in a Time Out when Nutty Nina showed up.
-I feel so sorry for CC. It just goes to show you that eternal life is not all what's cracked up to be.
-That kiss was so sudden, but CC really cares for Lulu.
-Kallen finds out the truth.
-Suzaku had a point about Lelouch/Zero.

really hope that the team behind this show knew they would be getting a second season by the time this one was made: Yeah usual season finales of these kind of epic drama/action shows end on some sort of cliffhanger in order to keep fans tuned in to see how things happen next season. They usually have a sense of finale towards them though: you know something being resolved, something happening that ends all the build up that was shown in the season so far. Really though we're not left with a sense of anything really finished though: Yeah Lelouch and C.C have total trust each other and she gave them one of those kisses that I'm sure will honk off anyone who ships Lulu with anyone Besides C2 but that example of trust was already apparent. I guess it answers that C.C has been around since the past of our time but nothing really else on how she was made or how she's been kept alive or where her powers come from.

Then again that wasn't really the point of this one either. The point was Lelouch being dragged away from the battle to save Nunnally. Which unfourantley didn't happen either. Instead he ends up being caught by Suzaku as he and Kallen finally find out Lulu=Zero. I did appreciate Suzaku saying he just didn't want to believe that (compared to Kallen just being in disbelief) but that ends with some sort of dramatic quick draw where either both will die, one will die or... well something will get shot probably though I don't know what. Should probably be impactful to the still captured Nunnally though but yeah that didn't get resolved.

Neither did who exatly killed Lulu's mother (besides Schinzel being behind it)

Or exactly what everyone is going to do about Nucelar powered Nina (besides a joint truce of ceasefire)

Or if the Black Knights will be able to take down the Britannian forces (though I'm sort of betting on no)

Or if Jeriminah is gone for good (really doubt C.C offed herself with him but is he really dead? That's what I liked to know).

Or where Viletta went (which wasn't even adressed in this ep)

Or... well like I said nothing really. This one defintley moved at a solid clip and had very little if any slow parts and had one of those mind ****s that started just as quickly as it began but still you get the feeling they just knew that they'd have another season to explain anything and didn't bother resolving anything here. Which is my only complaint really since even if we're getting the next epsiode next week not resolving ANYTHING in a season finale is sort of criminal. Then again our seasons do have different rules then Japanese seasons where I guess you can get away with that kind of thing more. Still I hope that one of these plot points is resolved soon so we can stopped juggling those balls in the air and get some conclusions on something in this show.

Then again I'm glad that we don't have to wait 6 months like some people here (some people like zoombie who should shut up about spoilers on this show before he gets his arms battered off:D ).

Firstly, yes, this was indeed an awesome episode.

Second, as far as the cliffhanger goes, remember that Lelouch used his Geass on Suzaku to give him the command, "Live!" If that command is still in effect, and if the sakuradite bomb really will kill Suzaku if Lelouch dies, then Suzaku should be physically incapable of shooting Lelouch (in a fatal area, anyway).

Goodbye R1, helllloooo R2! ;)

I'm curious about Spike Spencer as Rolo (hopefully he'll do a good job). Rolo's one of my fave characters of R2. :o

I don't see why everybody is getting worked up about the ending being cut. [as] isn't being a jerk about this, they LITERALLY CAN NOT AIR IT. This is the reason why the ending of Eureka 7 and Inuyasha openings were cut: some programs in Japan run longer than 22 minutes, and [as] has to cut some stuff to fit the rigid television schedules here. And by the looks of what I'm hearing, the ending wouldn't matter because R2 is coming next week.

Last time: Too full of awesome for me to recap in a single sentence.

Hmm. My mouth tastes like...season finale.

Took her this long to figure it out?

Would you die for me please?

Jeremiah's gone mad with power! He's gonna eat the Chort!

REPLACEMENT?! Que es esto?!

Aww, nice. Cubic Centimeter doesn't want him to die.

Could he fight you later? He has to go rescue his sister right now.

Bye bye, Mr. Nickelodeon Logo.
...or not.

Kamineko to the rescue!

PARTY AT KAMINE ISLAND!!!

Nina the suicide bomber?!?!

Finally, Caramel Center gets some backstory!!!

All-nude plot review.

Houston, we have a liplock.

Don't die, Miss Takes-A-Bullet-to-the-Head-and-Shrug-it-Off-After-A-Few-Episodes.

Well, guess a girl named Inoue did die tonight.

Yeah, Lulu, he's got one too.

FINALLY!!! Jeez, took you both long enough.

HOLY MEXICAN STANDOFF!

"Your very existence is a mistake"?
"You need to be erased from the face of the Earth"?
Jeez, Suzu, kinda harsh, dontcha think?

You know next season's going to be epic when it all ends in SUZAKU!!! LELOUCH!!! BANG.

Oh hey, post-credit happenings since [as] will probably cut them out:

Chokey Chicken comments on how Lelouch wanted happiness for Nunnally and stuff about dreams, fate and judgment and how humans exist to pursue happiness. Then she and Jeremiah sink further down into the ocean so as to make us think she died, but we all know she comes back for R2, don't we?

Suzaku finding out Lelouch was Zero was a bit of a shocker. I'm surprised Suzaku was not shocked at all, I was really thinking of more of a.. I can't believe it! NO IT'S NOT POSSIBLE!!! Kind of thing.. and why Lelouch does not explain how Euphie ended up dieing is beyond me as Suzaku might actually understand.

And C.C. kissing Lelouch was a bit of a WOW xD. Glad to see Orange boy is back in action..before he got taken underwater with C.C.

And Nina has a extremely rare robot? Hm and it's not a giant table to. Oh and glad to see R2 is airing next week with no delays at all.

I been hearing great things about R2 so this should be a fun ride. Seriously how in the world did you sub watchers stand for that cliff hanger for so long?

Hey I don't give away spoilers, maybe I give a hint or two, but I don't go out of my way to give spoilers, any time I say about the future of the show is in response to someone else bring it up in the first place.

Ok, first to address this issue. I am not as harsh as others, but I would also ask, please no hints or spoilers outside of the boxes designated as such. Some of us are barely able to contain our curiosity as it is, and when such "hints" are put out in the open, it actually isn't pleasureable for those of us who want to be pleasently surprised.

(end of semi-rant)

Ok, now onto the actual episode; Very well done. All the stories going on, and I believe that the chaotic action actually made me feel the intensity of the situation. Having Nunally take Lulu's attention translated very well as suspense built itself up. From Todo to Dietard to Kallen, everyone felt the panic of Zero pulling out. For some reason, everyone knew this was different from any other of Zero's plans. Seeing the stress on everyone's faces just added to the chaotic feel for flying from scene to scene.

Then there was the whole school bit, first with the classmates trying to help Suzaku only to have him help them (and then get rescued himself, but that's another story, right?)

Of course, Nina showing up, spooking Lloyd which in turn spooks Rakshana (sp?). Wasn't Nina's bot the pizza bot from a few eps back? Isn't pizza served on a table??? Didn't Euphinia die on a table??? (see the connection?);)

And then there was Orange Boy. This guy was so intense that he seemed to border on talking to an idol (please die) and someone who he despises with every part of his (psuedo-electronic) soul. And the way Lulu kept trying to brush him off as nothing was just funny to me. To one, the most important battle of his life, to the other, an annoying speed bump.

As for the ending, well, let's just say, 1 week to wait instead of 6 months makes this tolerable, otherwise, I would say WORST cliffhanger ever. You don't make people wait for some resolution like that.

Again, good thing we get "R2" next week (I have no clue why it is called "R2" either).

So I guess maybe I'm still hating majorly on Lelouch/Zero for the 'accidental' events that led to Euphemia's death, but I'd love to believe a lot that followed helped the first season climax to a huge finale. And it almost made it...

Then things kinda went over my head. Me thinks too much happened in the finale to really enjoy it. People getting their memory back, trying to get revenge (I've actually lost count on how many people are in 'revenge' mode right now - though at least it's given Nina a personality), another piece of the puzzle of who killed Lelouch's mom revealed, a Lulu-C2 kiss, Zero 'betraying' the Black Knights, and a whole lot more. I was actually disappointed by the cliffhanger. Kinda came out of nowhere - would've actually thought they would've gotten to Nunnally at least first. We don't have to wait for the continuation, thank goodness.

I always thought this was a fantastic ending to the season. You're left wondering just what you're supposed to think about Lelouch. Is he a hero? An antihero? Is he a victim of circumstance or a victim of his own designs and personal interests? Is he fighting for justice anymore? Can he do that again? Suzaku insults him, screaming that his very existence is a mistake. Given how things have gone so far at this point, has Zero done more harm than good? I think it's up for debate.

The whole gunshot face off is just icing on the cake. The suspense of what happens between the rivals underscores the uncertantity that dominates the entire series at the halfway mark. Everything has gone to hell, everybody's ambition has been turned upside down, everyone is in trouble. Across the board, unintended consequences came home to roost.

Brilliant, in my opinion.
