View Full Version : POTA2 Talk

I've noticed a lot of talk on the boards about the POTA2 movie. Such as how Burton & the original cast don't want anything to do with it(well..much to do with it). And I've heard a lot of "I want this Sequal to happen". But...honestly....I can't see a POTA movie being set in a modern-envornment. One of the 'things' about POTA, is that the Apes are a society that doesn't "advance" so much as they stay in the society they have. Like in the 'remake', they made a clear note "Humans have the advantage...these humans are inventive." So, the Ape's living in a society like we humans have today...it just doesn't seem right for the series. And, while I did enjoy Burtons remake, especially the ending...I just don't think it'd be right to have POTA take place in a modernized society. It should take place in the forest.

Thats all I gotta say on that. ;)

All I know is that if somehow a sequel is made it will suck the money right from my wallet. :D

Personally I don't care if they make a sequel or not, but like I said I would go see one. I'd be interested to find out if the Apes actually developed to the equivalent of modern human society or if they just came in and stole everything from humans. Either of which kind of explains the movies ending.

Planet of the Apes.

And that movie is CRYING for a sequel. And that's the reason I want Burton and nobody else on the sequel, because I want to see where he was going with that, not what some other director, good or bad, THINKS should happen.

They're currently engaged in a massive lawsuit against Cal. He's counter suing that the group lacks creativity and should change their acronym to POor Boy's TaCCO's, A! (they’re Canadian)

:D

Yes, PotA really could use a sequel. Plus if he was busy on PotA2 it would be just one more project to keep him occupied and away from Superman. :)

I thought Planet of the Apes was horrible. Just done in a stupid way. And the end. Ape cops and firemen?

HOW DO YOU MAKE A SEQUEL FROM THAT???

Here's my beef: the figure in the Lincoln Memorial? That's Thade. So I'm a little confused... is this Earth or did the apes transform another planet to look just as Earth does/ did?....

I NEED A SEQUEL!!!!

I'm not sure about this, but when Leo was in space an was about to land, I think I saw Saturn. I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure it was there.

I also want a sequel, since I want to know where Burton is going w/ this. I don't think the ending will be explained very well though. I've thought of and read so many theories of the ending, and I haven't found a good one yet that fully explains it. So, either the explanation will suck, or Burton comes up w/ something that no one has thought of, and if he does do that, I will even have more respect for Burton than I already have.
