Thanks to RPGamer, it seems that this DS game was confirmed longtime by Image Epoch themselves during TGS 2008. Here's more;

North America is not safe from destruction, but that could be a good thing. Ryohei Mikage, president of developer Image Epoch, disclosed at the Tokyo Game Show that his company's Nintendo DS RPG World Destruction (http://forums.toonzone.net/games/other/nds/worldd/worldd.html) is being localized and published by Sega USA for release in North America. Image Epoch is partially made up of some prominent members of the Xenogears (http://forums.toonzone.net/games/xeno/xg/xg.html) team, amongst team members from other notable games. World Destruction's composer, Yasunori Mitsuda, who has previously worked on games such as Chrono Trigger (http://forums.toonzone.net/games/chrono/ct/ct.html), Chrono Cross (http://forums.toonzone.net/games/chrono/ccross/ccross.html), and Xenosaga (http://forums.toonzone.net/games/xeno/xenosaga/xenosaga.html), will apparently be rewriting his songs from the game for the US version. The difficulty may also be altered according to player feedback.

World Destruction is unique primarily due to its storyline, in which humans have formed a group, called the World Destruction Committee, that is actually trying to destroy the world rather than save it. However, this group's goals are not necessarily evil, as they are trying to achieve this seemingly extreme end to rebel against beastmen rulers who have enslaved them. This committee takes notice of the main character, Kyrie, a young man who has an ability which may be powerful enough to help destroy the world.

World Destruction's combat system will be turn-based, with timed button presses involved to inflict extra damage or perform other moves. The game also incorporates the "Word Equip System," which allows the player to find voice commands and use them to alter attacks.

The anime didn't impress me very much. But, I heard the game is kind of different from what the anime was storywise and characterwise. The gameplay sounds good, though. I might check it out when it comes over here.

Well, we'll see how this thing fares in North America. Though, it'd be interesting to hear the english side of it as well.

Another one to add to my already-too-crowded list.
