I read the awfull reviews. :p I saw the awfull trailer. :p Did I listen!? :oNOOOOooooooooooooo. I had to go see it. I feel unclean. This movie was BAD. Just bad.
It seems the filmakers thought gatuartous (PG) shower-scene's and Anjolena Jolie's PADDED chest would make up for FLAT characters, poor pacing, over-long/boring travel scenes, wooden dialogue, cliche plot, overblown CGI, bad music and an unsatisfying non-ending, that screams "INSERT SEQUEL HERE." :(

Just thought I'd let you know that PARAMOUNT is already setting the wheels in motion for the first of two TOMB RAIDER sequels, although it's possible Simon West won't be back. And hopefully they'll fix Jolie's padded chest, too. All in all, she's a good pick but the movie, and premise, needed major tweaking.

Well, hopefully that will never come to pass. They never got to make the sequels to that friggin Godzilla movie. I also heard all the bad reviews for it, heard all the warnings from people I knew about how much it sucked, and bought the DVD anyway and wasted not only $20 on the movie but 2 hours of my life watching that piece of crap. I really don't know which one was worse, Hollow Man or Godzilla. I loathe both movies just as much.
Bummer about Tomb Raider. I was hoping for the next Indiana Jones type action franchise! Oh, well. Maybe they will let this one die off like they did with the plans for all those Godzilla sequels.

Well, I guarentee you that the only way I'll be seeing the next "Tomb Raider" movie, is if they change both the director and the writers. Hey, I liked "Forever" best out of the Bat films. Pretty much any change would be for the better. Except Jolie. She did a good job. Only Rachel Weisz could have done better.;)

What really upset me about the film, was that I had an idea for an adventure movie about controlling time and the Illuminatie. Now, that'll be cliche.:(
I thought the best part of the movie was the pod race rip-off, at the end. You know what I mean if you saw it. That was a fun, cool, scene. I whish the rest of the movie could have had that spark. That's what you get with six writers.

sorry, to get off subject. but, how could you say forever was the best batman movie that is like a crime against humanity. batman 1 was the absolute best(i mean jack nicholson how could it not be). returns was the 2nd best one. forever was awful but it gets 3rd. and robins was the biggest pile o crap movie i have ever seen and get on the verge of tears every time it come on tnt.

I'm almost ashamed to even admit the existence of BATMAN & ROBIN. The first time I watched it on VHS, since I saw it in the threatre, I was close to throwing it in the fireplace. FOREVER isn't that bad. It's as true as they'll ever get to the comic. The first 2 were a bit of from the comic, but still very enjoyable. But this is a discussion for another boards.
Anyways, TOMB RAIDER 2 could be cool if they get a good director and/or writer. and TOMB RAIDER is expected to hit $70 mill this weekend, and $100 mill in 2 weeks.

i think the casting in forever would of been good except the script was stupid and why did the bat mobile have like light coming from the engine and why did they make gotham city look like a disco night club . and two faces costumes were awful what was with the leopard print it just was to different from the cartoon and comics

Hey mxy, like I said earlier, keep the appropriate topics on the apporpriate boards. Any discussions about Batman should be on the JL Board, not here. Okay? I don't wanna sound bosy, but I got to sometimes.
And the script did suck.

sorry i guess that when some one says that a movie was so good when i really like hated it i just had to throw in my opinion

Throwing in your opinion is fine, it's why thes eboards are here. But if you're gonna go into a discussion about it, keep it on the right board. That's not much to ask.

I always though tomb raider wasn't to be taken seriously.
That it was a tongue in cheek Raiders clone with an added 'wink' at the ridculous heroine with her gigantic..er.. guns.
That's why, IMO an action movie based on the game looks, frankly ridicluous - I don't think the makers understood the game....

The TR discussion can stay here, ya know. I found this movie to be a bit cheesey, but it was pure fluff. 100% brainless summer fluff. Even with her incredibly shrinking/growing breasts, Jolie was still sorta hot in the role of Croft. One thing that urked me was that she mentioned she was a Tomb Raider. That was wrong. You wouldn't see Indiana Jones saying he's a Raider of the Lost Ark in his movies.

I know it's fluff. But there's good fluff and there's bad fluff. This movie was dull. DUll with an overly comlicated plot, full of holes. If you're going to make a fluff film, it has to be clever and well-paced. This was "Batman and Robin" meets "Battlefeild Earth" in it's badness.
*Spoilers*
The main problem I had with this movie was one particular, giant, gaping, plot hole. Once Laura has possession of half of the triangle, why does she set up a meeting with the Badguy? If she just destroyed the half she has, the other half would be useless and the villains would be royal-a'-screwed. But know, she hands over her half and teams up with the baddies. Good move.
There is more laughable stuff, but that's the most obvious blunder.

I was curious about that myself, and that plot reminds me of an episode of X-MEN when Corsair hand sover the M'Krann Crystal to the bad guy so he can kill him. Why not just destroy the crystal so it won't ruin the galaxy? I was half anticipating Croft to just put a bullet through the damn thing.

Not that the video game series is a pinnacle of quality, either. The first game was great for its time, but for the next FOUR games they just recycled the first one over and over and over to the point that, with the advances in technology and sheer over-use of the cliches, the last few have been fairly bad. Laura steers like a municipal bus. Then again, her breasts have gotten bigger in every game, so she's got a lot of weight to manipulate...
