The promo for next week's Justice League. I've never heard that line before Bruce Timm. How did they ever come up with "Take your filthy paws off me you dirty human?"

uhhhh its probably a joke made off of

"take your paws of me you damn dirty ape" from Planet of the Apes as delivered by Mr. Guns himself Charlton Heston

I forget which one, but one of the ape's said it in last year's movie to Marky Mark.

Is next week's JL episode going to be like that poor Batman Beyond episode with the talking gorilla?

Planet of the Apes jokes!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

HAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

HAAA HAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

But seriously, that's lame.

That's exactly what I thought Failure. They probably took the script and changed some names

considering Grodd is a sociopathic Gorilla bent on world domination, i doubt that they took it from BB

i have faith that hte next episode is gonna be well thought out and delivered

with 2 heroes instead of 4 or 5 maybe well get *gasp* CONSISTENCY in dialogue and power levels!

BLACKHEART

That might be true about him, but we haven't seen this episode yet

Is Grodd a superpowered gorilla? I don't really see how it would require even 1 JLer to take a gorilla out.

The Green Hornet

well.....hes a gorilla.......and hes smart...........im fairly sure hes superstrong too

and it DOESNT take the whole league to take him down

just a nice little team up between GL and Flash

Grodd actually has telepathic powers in addition to his super strength. He is a genius and gave the silver age Flash plenty of trouble. Plus, he was a card carrying member of the Legion Of Doom.

Am I the only one who thinks that an episode titled "Brave and the Bold" should have Batman involved?

what exactly did the preview show??

The Green Hornet

when i think of B&B i think of the 6 issue mini series w/ Flash and GL (with an issue involving Jay Garrick and Alan Scott too!)

frankly i hope bats doenst show up except to get his butt kicked by a talking gorilla

knowing the writers they'll make batman become a living god and be able to single handedly beat GG after flash and GL have quickly fallen

I agree with Fastest Man Alive. The writers do seem to place Batman on a high pedestal as they water down the powers and dumb down the faculties of the other JL'ers. My first experience with "Brave and the Bold" was a Silver Age series that featured Batman and another super-hero. "DC Comics Presents" was the Silver Age Superman and another hero team-up.

I just hope it's better than the BB episode with the smart monkey

Green Lantern, the Flash, a dozen hot dogs, and a talking gorilla. I'm actually intrigued. :D

But the presence of scientists engaged in research does worry me. Far to redolent of "Speak No Evil."

As for that "take your hands off me" line: It's a spin on the famous "Planet of the Apes" line, delivered as only Charlton Heston could deliver it: "Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!" No, it's not the most original line they could have had, and the delivery sounds amazingly flat. But, we'll see.

The Flash

I don't mind the line, as long as all of GG's dialog isn't like that. I get the feeling Flash will make a joke about it? .......ha, that's a safe bet.

You know, I could be wrong, but that voice didn't sound like Powers Boothe (the actor who plays Grodd), but more like the guy playing Solovar, the heroic king of Gorilla City. I don't know how anyone can judge an ep based on a ten-second clip, though I love those who think the idea's a rip off of BATMAN BEYOND. Makes me feel nice and old.

What I dont understand is, I read in Wizard that an upcoming Batman team up book series is gonna be called the Brave and the Bold. Is that just a name DC properties use often?

Yes. There used to be a regular comic series called The Brave and the Bold that was just team up storylines of different DC heros. A majority of the time, it was Batman teamed up with some other DC character.

Don't forget, the Brave and the Bold comic was the first ever appearence of the Justice League of America in #28. Back them ALL the stories were fairly goofy and hokey.

They are supposed to bring that title back
